Ella Koon Announces Pregnancy

Since marrying her boyfriend of six years Juan-Domingo Maurellet in February, Ella Koon (官恩娜) was plagued with pregnancy rumors. Recently, Ella was photographed with a protruding belly. After her record company dismissed the speculations several times, Ella finally announced yesterday that she is pregnant.

“We would like to share this exciting news… JE SUIS ENCEINTE We have an announcement to make…I am pregnant! This is the best gift that God could give us! Thankful!” wrote Ella.

Ella is reportedly 12 weeks pregnant and did not want to announce the news until the first trimester has passed. Earlier, she even posted a photo of herself on social media, joking that she is still actually thin and hoping to put a stop to the gossip.

Since it was an unexpected pregnancy, Ella’s schedule is packed with committed projects until the end of the year. However, she may postpone the release of her new music album and halt less pressing jobs to ensure adequate rest.

An insider revealed that Ella, who will be turning 36 years old in July, is concerned about her health and the baby’s development due to being an older mother. Ella has reportedly hired an expert caretaker to accompany her throughout her pregnancy.

  1. So happy for her…1 good news after another from her…first marriage..now pregnancy news.

    1. @funnlim was that sarcasm?

if not, 36 years old is actually considered advanced maternal age for most women. chances of fetal abnormalities and miscarriages go up significantly after 30 years old. this isn’t even like a mild jump; it’s a dramatic leap. so i personally can understand ella’s concerns. not every celebrity is lucky enough to enjoy healthy, thriving children after 30ish – at least not without help from science.

  2. There is nothing wrong nowadays to have pregnancy before marriage. I just want to say the rumours usually have some grounds unlike some people think that Hong Kong reporters always make up crazy stories about artistes.
