Grace Chan Wants to Win Most Improved Female Artiste Award

TVB’s 48th Anniversary Gala was held on November 19 at TVB City in Tseung Kwan O. Over two hundred artistes were present at the annual event to celebrate the station’s birthday. Rookie actress Grace Chan (陳凱琳) wore a sparkly back gown that revealed most of her back. Cast in two dramas that were released this year, Grace has been nominated for the Most Improved Female Artiste award.

Speaking of the nomination, Grace admitted she hopes to win the award. She expressed, “Thanks! I’m very happy! Winning the award will give me motivation. I may not be able to exceed expectations, but becoming motivated will allow me to continue and improve!”

When asked if she hopes to win the Best Actress award and have her boyfriend Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) win the Best Actor award at the same time, Grace replied, “It’s impossible for me to receive Best Actress this year, because it’s not time yet! However, I support Kevin for Best Actor. His acting skills are amazing and he’s a very considerate person!”

    1. @sherla1019 No matter how bad her acting is, she would still get an award from TVB because she is likeable by the bosses. That is why they put her name on three lists. BA, Best Character Role and MI.

  1. Most Improved Actress??? omg. She is nowhere near it!!!! Tvb better dont play pattern this year k!!!! Pui. I will double tripple pui pui if she really get ir.

  2. Some people here are so unreasonable. What is she suppose to say to the press? “oh i didn’t deserve it, i was just favored by TVB. Thank you TVB, i just got this award for no effort, ty, ty”?? is that what you guys want to hear. I’m not a fan of Grace but what can she do about it, the girl’s lucky, shes getting promoted. Life’s unfair. I’m sorry if this is offensive to anyone.

    1. I am totally with you.@lavender16! Don’t understand why some people are so mean. They only come here to insult! If they don’t have anything nice to say, just keep quite. We are all human. We all have feelings. Grace is no different. Spread the love!

  3. I think Tracy Chu shall be getting the hype more than this lady. Grace Chan’s acting is not improving, it’s de-proving. She’s getting from good to bad… Tracy Chu should get it!!

  4. I thought the point of ‘most improved’ meant that you have to have improved over a period of time. Didn’t she just start acting this year? What are we basing her ‘improvement’ on if she has no history of acting? Bit dumb? Nominations for the sake of nominations. pfft.

  5. I like Grace but I’m not like one of those ‘die hard’ fans. People need to remember she’s just been in the industry a short amount of time, with no training in acting of course her performances are going to waiver between good and bad. Also, being given lead roles and certain category nominations is down to the station not her. I think her dream of wanting to win MI is a fair thing, why are people slating her for wanting that award? I don’t see the issue with it and she never said she will win it, it’s just the way the sentence has been phrased since it’s translated from canto to english.

    1. @melodylai she has no formal acting class after winning the title. not impressed with her acting. tvb is throwing her into lead roles and compere as well…help!

  6. I’m not a fan of Grace, but give the girl a chance, Her acting def not good but she is not bad for a newbie with no acting training.

I do want Jacqueline Wong to win most improve.
