Celebrities Select Their Choices For TV King and TV Queen

A TV King and TV Queen poll being conducted on Facebook is making its rounds on social media. The poll, which is started by Oriental Daily, asks Hong Kong netizens to vote for their favorite nominees from this year’s Best Actor and Actress nominations for the upcoming TVB Anniversary Awards, coming this Sunday.

Even celebrities are joining in the voting fun. Former TVB actress Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) said, “For TV King I have to choose Anthony Wong (黃秋生). We worked on Lord of Shanghai <梟雄> together. He is seriously at the level of a Film King, and seeing him film for TVB is such a draw for audiences. He’s very charismatic, and I will definitely support him!”

As for TV Queen, Myolie immediately selected Ghost of Relativity’s <鬼同你OT> Nancy Wu (胡定欣), her close friend. “How can I not choose you, Nancy Wu? It should be you. It’s your time!”

Under the Veil’s <無雙譜> Eliza Sam (岑麗香), who is contending for Best Actress herself, is putting all her votes on her Limelight Years <華麗轉身> costar, Liza Wang (汪明荃). “Her acting in Limelight Years really touches me,” said Eliza. “As for TV King, I choose Under the Veil’s Kristal Tin (田蕊妮),” she joked, referring to Kristal’s male role in the series. She then added, “Oh, she’s not nominated! If that’s the case, I choose Anthony Wong! I’ve been watching Lord of Shanghai, and he’s amazing in it!”

Ghost of Relativity’s Vivien Yeo (楊秀惠) said, “I can only choose one! My good sister, Nancy Wu! For TV King, I choose Ruco Chan (陳展鵬). I’ve filmed several dramas with him before, and he’s an excellent actor.”

Former TVB actor David Siu (邵仲衡) also shared his thoughts: “Give the TV King to Anthony Wong. He’s a really good actor. Let’s not have Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) win every year! Let him rest! As for TV Queen, I quite admire Nancy Wu.”

Ruco Chan Still In the Lead

Captain of Destiny’s <張保仔> Ruco Chan remains to be the favorite TV King among netizens, as he is still leading in the votes a week after the poll’s launching. As of December 9, Ruco has collected over 7,000 likes. Momentary Lapse of Reason’s (收規華) Louis Cheung (張繼聰) is in second place, with over 760 likes. Lord of Shanghai’s Anthony Wong is in third place, with 430 supporters.

Limelight Year’s Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) is still leading in the TV Queen side of the battle, with over 4,600 likes. Nancy is in second place with 2,000 supporters. Third place is Lord of Shanghai’s Alice Chan (陳煒), with almost 800 votes.

  1. ♥ 11th Prince, Bowie and Ruco Chan are all viewers beloved hahaha ♥♥

TVB is shocked n confused over the Polls’ results shower on Ruco Chan, may sympathize with uncle Anthony Wong and make him the TVB TV King???

    1. @yummysukiyaki RUCO chan is definitely the ONE in terms of performance for dramas like COD & EITS.

TV Queen…Linda Chung, nancy wu, myolie wu don’t make the list.

    2. @yummysukiyaki lol, are you that ignorance? just 7000 votes does not represent the whole 7 million citizens. And audience vote just representing 50%. If can based solely on audience votes, chilam and LF long time ago adi got it. Duh.
That is why professional judgers votes are counted as well. And its right, audience is not experts. Sometimes they just vote for the sake of voting and can be biased.

      1. @alluka you are right. This person is very insistent in comparing ruco with raymond. Obviously a fan of one and a hater of the other. No point to argue with such people.

      2. @isay Would you fans please stop assuming fan of who and who as well? Even if lam86 is a fan of LF, if you are unhappy with her/his comment, please attack back by using evidences about your idols to prove s/he was wrong instead of putting retaliation on LF, whom you assume to be idol of lam86.

As a fan of LF, I find it is nonsense to drag him in a unrelevant topic like so. Please be reminded that he left TVB . I would appreciate if he is not dragged to all TVB arguments in articles without his name.

It would be more wonderful if all guys who have nothing to do with TVB anymore to be listed out.

      3. @alluka hmm i dont rmbr attacking LF. Anyway this person obviously LF fan. Read her/his posts and it’s easy to conclude no need to guess. I don’t like to talk abt LF cos i know how ugly things can get. Peace to you. You and i hv nothing to do with each other.

      4. @isay I dont tell you but you and your fan friend in general. In other topic, when attacking back lam86, LF há been put down and Im definitely thinking it is so irrelevant. Sorry if I made you misunderstood. However, I believe you also should not stop assume s/he is fan of who and who. Whose fan s/he is is nothing related to her comments. You should focus on proving s/he was not right about your idol instead of finding whose fan s/he is.

If you know whose fan s/he is, what do you plan to do? To retaliate by saying same thing to her/his idol? That is exactly what I tried to say.

On the other hand, I read her/his posts and with many doubts, I dont think s/he is a LF fan. Honestly. Nevertheless, I dont care s/he is LF fan or not. Even if s/he is, dragging an irrelevant person (LF or other) in is unappropriate. Just focus on whoever is mentioned in the article.

I really cant understand why LF is still dragged into those TVB awards. He left TVB and it isnt enough? It tells me why I never hope him to be back to TVB. Too troublesome.

        Thanks.

      5. @alluka you are getting too worked up over nothing. My original post was actually to agree with you that we shld stop dragging in irrelevant people. Too bad you misunderstood. No further comment from me lest you misunderstand again. Pl calm down.

      6. @isay If you (and your friends) can stop assuming whose fan lam86 is, then there is no problem. Hope lam86 will stop dragging as well. If s/he continues to do so, you (and your fan friends) can try to end it by mentioning nothing about the others but only focus on proving s/he was wrong about your idol. Stay focus on your idol and you wont see my complaints anymore. I have no interest in TVB award.

      7. @alluka what exactly is the problem you hv with me? I said nothing bad abt RL yet you’re accusing me of doing so? This is so childish. I repeat that my comment is supporting you. I didn’t expect a lecture from you. So pls pipe down. A few black sheep doesn’t mean all ruco fans are like that. Similarly a few black sheep in RL camp doesn’t mean all are bad.

      8. @isay I dont have problem with you. I merely want to stop the assumption and drag. I say in general to you and other fans. You know that not all fans are bad so you also know that no need to assume whose fan an antifan is. Overall, next time when lam86 drags someone in, hope you and other fans can talk about your idol only without mention of others. It would help to stop lam86’s irrevant drag.

        Thanks in advanced.

      9. @alluka spare me the lecture. You’ve repeated too many times. Pl target the culprit. Topic is closed. Silence is golden.

      10. @isay It is sad to know that I have to repeat many times ineffectively :(. I dont want that. I even dont want to reply in those types of topic because I have no interest in TVB award.

In my opinion, there is no culprit here because nobody commit crime here. A person who dislike/hate your idol is not a crime. S/he is merely a hater. There is lover then of course there is hater. Dont get mad and think bad of a hater, ok?

However, I put my one leg out of here. I believe that my purpose was misunderstood. All I want is no more drag, from you or anyone else, including @lam86

      11. @alluka likewise i want to say that i feel aggrieved to be misunderstood by you. When i said “culprit ” i dont mean a crime has been committed. Let’s leave it as that. I don’t want to keep repeating myself.

      12. @isay You always have comprehension problem. I am not only comparing with LF but other successful actors in general. You thought of getting the awards in SG and MY can be regarded as a successful actor in ASIA. Duh.

      13. @lam86 You’re the one with comprehension problem. I already said I don’t want to argue with a mo-liu person like you. No end and going around in circles. You specifically mentioned LF didn’t you? Or did you conveniently forget? I’m tired and do not wish to continue. Go bother someone else kiddo. I’ve bigger fish to fry.

      14. @isay Nope, you are the one that keep on arguing here without providing any evidence. I did not dragging LF but just merely giving example of what are successful actors. You kiddo cant accept the fact that RUCO is not a successful actor in HK and mainland. Duh

      15. @alluka dont get mad. I am not dragging unrelated people. I am just giving examples. When you doing thesis or going for a debate, you will use examples/evidence to support your argument. Because 2isay do not know what are successful actors. And examples are important. Cheers.

      16. @lam86 Don’t keep dragging my name into yr pointless arguments. Go back and read what I’ve commented before you come here firing off at me. I’ve no interest in dragging LF into this argument. You did. End of pointless debate. I’m busy. Pl move on.

      17. @isay Nobody dragging a particular actor into the arguement. But just giving examples of what are successful actors. Of course its pointless for you because you kiddo have lost the argument because you cant argue logically with any evidence. duh..

        Cheers..

  2. For TVB queen, I have a feeling that Linda Chung could get up according to the polls. I don’t think she deserves it for her role as it wasn’t that outstanding.

However, this scenario would eliminate giving it to either Nancy Wu or Kristal Tin.

As this is a public vote, I think Linda Chung has a good chance.

    1. @mulder99 I’m still surprised that Linda didn’t get more buzz this year for her role. It’s not amazing of course, but neither is Nancy’s role.

I’m a Nancy fan so I definitely support her as lame as GoR as a series were. She and Kristal still delivered their part.

  3. How’s the voting system again, some from netizen votes, and rest from the selected judges right?

  4. Ugh Nancy Wu. I don’t mind her acting, but seriously? She didn’t have any representative work this yr – not from what I could tell. They’re picking her purely based off favoritism and not actual work

    1. @coralie TVB never intend to promote her as lead anyway. Her popularity from Gor was unexpected.
Viewers knew Nancy can act from her previous boxing(I forgot the title. With Kevin cheng) series. But tvb still put her as second lead all the time. Now viewers voted for her, so tvb having headache and contradicting situation.

      1. @dramadrama yes I know Nancy is at a disadvantage since TVB doesn’t seem to favor her as much as the other fadans. And this might be a way to even the score, by letting fans vote for their favorite actress. But, to be fair, acting and winning awards should be based on merit and work alone. If it’s based off outside influence, like fans or company favoritism, can you really say that’s a well-deserved award?

    2. @coralie I think GoR was a lame and pointless series, but Kristal and Nancy were quite hilarious and had a chemistry. Without them, the series definitely flopped.

I’m not sure if the “favoritism” you mentioned is at TVB or her fans. If it’s her fans, it’s her fans. Nancy is their favorite and that would make sense. As for TVB, if they were playing favoritism, they would give it to Linda and not Nancy.

      1. @ladykriselle I don’t know. I personally believe Kristal did much better than Nancy in the drama. Her role had more nuances and she had a tougher character to play. Nancy just looks pissed & upset through out the entire series. It was frankly kind of annoying.

  5. Argh Linda, Nancy and Kristal do not deserve to win BA for their roles at all. The Best Actress competition is really weak this year.

  6. 楊秀惠 is damn hot. I was wondering what happened to her near the end of 鬼同你OT, She never came back out. Its as if the producer forgot about her character, she just disappeared.

  7. I hope Wayne win his 4th award like he wishes. I’d be happy for him.
Either Nancy or Alice is fine. Wouldn’t mind Linda either.

  8. Alice is my choice for BA she is excellent. For male actor Kenneth Ma really impressed me in LOS he has done a good job.
