Myolie Wu Wants to Make Up Lost Time with Husband

Having spent years searching for the perfect Mr. Right, Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) finally tied the knot last year with entrepreneur Philip Lee (李乘德). While the couple only dated for one year before getting married, they felt that they met too late in life and now have to make up for their lost time together.

During their 75-day honeymoon, Myolie shared that they did not look at their phones unless absolutely necessary and needed it for work. The couple hopes to spend ever minute with each other before returning to their hectic careers in Hong Kong.

Myolie said, “I was on holiday for about two months and I went to 12 cities. Although every place had its special memories, the Maldives was my favorite. It was extremely relaxing – all I did was snorkel and eat. We picked the Maldives as our final honeymoon destination because we wanted to be relaxed before working again.”

Asked about any strange incidents that occurred during the trip, Myolie said, “That would be the Aegean Sea near Santorini! Since we went during the off-season, only a tenth of the shops were open. It looked like the place was deserted but the lack of people gave it a different kind of mood.”

While she will be focusing on her film career for the rest of the year, Myolie is also ready to try for a baby. She expressed, “This is going to be a very big challenge, but I hope I can do it. We’ll let nature run its course. If there’s good news, we’ll definitely let everyone know!”

  1. She has a market in movies?

Anyway, I came across her husband’s Instagram once. He seems to communicate in English mostly, which was surprising.

    1. @tiffany honestly I’m surprised she even had a TV career. She was lackluster as an actress. Not charming enough and not talented enough. What she lacked in both, she made up for it in effort and sincerity. It’s notable that she has such high work ethics, but I think it’s because she’s self-aware of her faults. Even if I compare her to Natalie Tong, for instance, NT wins. But she still won some ppl over, so lucky her.

Also she wasn’t really searching for Mr. Right. She just picked a Mr. Wrong so she had no choice. It’s only been a yr or more that she’s been with her hubby…still in the passionate love stage.

      1. @coralie Agree – (1) she is earnest, sincere, a good girl & lucky & (2) right or wrong – still long to go – I tend to think she missed a right one/a good one in bosco but that is already closed story, but at least she is happy

      2. @kangaroo

I think Bosco is definitely not the ‘good one’. It was widely reported that he cheated on numerous occasions. Even if these reports were false, he flirted continuously which gave a lack of feeling of security to Myolie.

      3. @kangaroo yes, whether her current Mr. Right is really Mr. Right-for-Her or just Mr. Right-Now is yet to be seen since it’s still too early to say.

      4. @coralie

She was one dimensional in her acting and wasn’t as supported or had a big fanbase in comparison to other actresses. She was however at the peak of popularity when she was in a relationship with Bosco rather than for her acting. One advantage she has had though is that she has always been youthful looking. It would take a miracle for her to break into the Hong Kong movie market, in a market dominated by great mature male actors.

      5. @jimmyszeto yes absolutely agree. i think she’s biting off more than she can chew but she’s a trooper, so i’m sure she’ll be able to handle her new workload, just not sure how far her career will go from here. she’s not on par with fala, and not even Michelle Yep (and they used to be bffs.) we’ll see…

      6. @coralie I think Myolie has lost her passion for acting, which has shown in her mediocre performances recently. She seems to be chasing after the money like most of her peers who ventured out.

      7. @tiffany worst still, i think she’s already hit her passionate peak and even then, there’s nothing to show for it. i always felt her acting was too clinical, too reliant on methodical processes instead of being smooth and natural like seasoned actresses. maybe she never found the right role to shine? or maybe…she’s just not an actress material to begin with.

  2. Lol they have the rest of their lives together. Is it really necessary to say that she wants to make up for lost time? I mean he is all hers now. xD

  3. Think they are ready for a baby. If her bridal shop does well, really no need to keep acting as she does look like she lost her drive for it.

    1. @happybi

I think whether she continues to act in future years will all depend on how well her husband’s businesses are performing.I have to emphasize again that Myolie hasn’t had any breakthrough performances since Golden Faith and War of in laws. She does not pull in the ratings and only had the likeable factor previously because she was with Bosco.

      1. @jimmyszeto I think she makes more than him right now. If Bridal shop goes well, no need to relied on hubby.. can just get pregnant and retire!

Also think she’s still likable without Bosco but yes, she hasn’t had a good performance for a while now.

  4. Their 75 day honeymoon is exaggerate since they are married now. As long as they love each other, everyday can be equally sweet.
