Studio Fails to Pay Charmaine Sheh, TVB Takes Case to Court

TVB has filed a report against the Champion Peak Corporation Limited to the District Court of Hong Kong, requesting the film studio to pay up the remaining $935,000 HKD it owes to Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) for her work in last year’s Return of the Cuckoo <十月初五的月光>.

2015’s Return of the Cuckoo is a film sequel to the TVB drama of the same name, which was released in 2000. The film stars Chilam Cheung (張智霖) and Charmaine Sheh, reprising their original roles.

In Charmaine’s film contract with Champion Peak, she was to receive a total pay of $1.9 million HKD for working on the film for 18 days, 12 hours per day. If shooting ran over schedule, Charmaine was to receive an additional $110,000 HKD per day.

According to Charmaine’s manager, filming ran over schedule to an additional 17 days. Charmaine was to receive a total of $1.87 million HKD for the additional days, but Champion Peak only paid her $935,000 HKD, half of 1.87 million.

TVB said they will represent Charmaine to pursue the matter.

  1. Wow, that is a huge total payday for Charmaine. I’m sure Chilam got a similar (if not greater) amount. No wonder they agreed to film the movie, despite the atrocious plot!

  2. That is bad the company has not paid Charmaine’s fee! Actually im quite suprised that an actress gets paid so much to film a movie! Oh my gosh!! I cant imagine how much Chow Yun Fat, Louis Koo, Andy Lau etc, gets paid……

  3. hope Charmaine get back her balance money , so bad the Corporation delay so long
