Wins “Star Chef 3”, Charmaine Sheh is the New Celebrity Chef

The third season of Jiangsu TV’s Star Chef <星廚駕到> came to a close on Tuesday, September 13, ending three months of intense cooking battles. Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) beat out finalists Wang Lin (王琳) and Qin Hailu (秦海璐), winning the Master Chef title.

Star Chef 3, the Chinese edition of BBC’s Celebrity MasterChef, aired its twelfth and final episode on Tuesday night. The three finalists Charmaine Sheh, Wang Lin, and Qin Hailu were tasked to prepare dinner courses with high difficulty levels for the judges. Charmaine chose to cook the “Eight Treasures Stuffed Duck” (八寶葫蘆鴨), which was given a difficulty level of 9.9.

After successfully capturing the judges with her course, Charmaine then prepared two smaller Spanish dishes, winning the audiences. Obtaining the most votes, Charmaine beat out strong competitors Wang Lin and Qin Hailu in the competition, becoming the contest’s final winner.

Charmaine said she didn’t expect to get this far into the contest, let alone win it. She said, “I’m so happy I can explode. I never thought about winning at all! My cooking improved a lot after participating in this program. I gained so much from that.”
