Roger Kwok Tells Viewers to Grab Some Tissues Before Watching “Dead Wrong”

Roger Kwok (郭晉安) revisited his caveman look to film a promotional clip for the upcoming TVB anniversary drama Dead Wrong <致命復活>, which will be airing in November. The drama, produced by Lam Chi-wah (林志華), was filmed last year, and took five months to complete principal photography.

In the series, Roger plays a physician who gets abducted in Vietnam, and gets confined in a cave prison for ten years. The three-time TV King winner lost over 20 pounds for the role.

Dressing up as his character again for the promotional teaser, Roger was reminded of his experience shooting the drama last year. He said, “It was actually terrible. We spent a little over ten days shooting in a cave. It was very cold. Only about 5 to 7 Celsius. We mainly filmed at night. The makeup artists are laughing about the look now, but when we were on location, they really weren’t in the mood to laugh.”

Roger said he has already seen the first two episodes of the show. He warned viewers to prepare some tissues. “After watching the first two episodes, I cried in the bathroom for a good ten minutes. Everything was shot with a single camera, and it looked very realistic. I urge everyone to prepare some tissues before you watch.”

Asking if Roger would let his two kids watch the show with him, Roger said, “This is my biggest struggle! My son has requested to see it, but his classmates didn’t like the way how I looked. They said I looked scary!”

Dead Wrong will premiere its first two episodes on Sunday, November 20. The series finale will air on December 17, a day before the 2016 TVB Anniversary Awards.

    1. @bubbles23 Roger can act. So it is a matter of character and writing. Wasn’t too impressed with the writing for ruco’s character.

Why can’t ruco get this kind of character? Why can’t he have Roger’s career???

    1. @funnlim u stay in the kitchen better, no need watch any tvb series. Tvb dont need viewer like you..and ruco wont win any BA in any near time because he not worth yet. Cheers…

  1. I also think that Roger Kwok could be TVB king again with this series….

I do wish Ruco gets it, but his character in Fist was really not as good as his character in Captain if Destiny….he basically lost out as the series sucked and Anthony Wong had a decent role in Lord of Shanghai..

I think , this time the same thing could happen but with roger Kwok winning, with Ruco losing out again..

If Dead Wrong rates highly and Roger gives a convincing performance, then he could take it from a Ruco….

    1. @mulder99 suck? grow up la ops you just 1999 born? Go and rewatch anthony wong’s speech when he was crowned BA last year compare with Ruco’s speech when he was crowned most popular award. Totally different class. Ruco was like 4/10 speaking skill vs anthony wong 9.9/10 speaking skill during the speech in tvb award!

  2. I think only Gallen, Roger, and Wayne have won three times right?

I honestly would not mind at all if Roger wins his fourth TVB Best Actor award. The role seems very interesting, and I don’t have doubt that Roger can pull it off. He’s got the charisma, the acting chop, and versatility. So, it just really depends on the script.

    1. @dandan Gallen roger and wayne really top class actor. Ruco level not yet reach. Last time i watched these 3 actors series again and again. Really splendid. But ruco one watch 1 time enough la ,watch again will be bored to death.

  3. Is roger nail this role then he should get ba . Ruco role in four walls is not ba worthy . Don’t mind if bobby win 🙂

  4. Omg i have been waiting to see this show! Looks great! Ruco have a lower chance winning this year again for Best Actor.

  5. I do think Roger Kwok will and should win the BA award this year. I love Roger more than Ruco anyway…lol

Although i also like Ruco, but I quite agree that he may need to work hard for few more years & wait for a really good breakthrough role (like Roger’s roles) to get the BA award. With that, he will be deemed as a deserved winner at that moment.

By the way, i’ll definitely watch this drama to the end…just because of Roger. He is a charming & charismatic actor.

  6. Performing Art is a very subjective skill. Factors Including the skills of the actor, the script, producer/director reputation, other series in competition, available fan base, judging panelists’ tastes/interests, to name a few, as well as company politics, timing and simply luck can affect the outcome of a TV King/Queen selection. The saying, “May the best actor win” often won’t even be applicable! At least Ruco will have some strong competition, which I would say, is more interesting than the Queen title which really has no competition! Being the best among the weakest somehow doesn’t sound too accomplishing!
