Li Bingbing Confirms Dating Younger Man

Expanding her career to Hollywood in recent years, 43-year-old Li Bingbing (李冰冰) is at the peak of her career. Good things come in pairs, and Li Bingbing was recently photographed kissing a mysterious man. Afterward, Li Bingbing posted a romantic photo of the couple, publicly acknowledging her relationship status. According to reports, her boyfriend, Hsu Wen Nan (許文楠), is 16 years her junior and is a senior manager at an investment company. Since last year, the pair has been romantically linked together.

While Bingbing was filming in Hainan Island earlier, Wen Nan brought Bingbing’s family to visit her on the set. Excited to see each other, the couple could not resist hugging and kissing on the beach.

In addition to the photo she posted on social media, which shows the couple gazing lovingly at each other in matching white t-shirts at the beach, Li Bingbing also wrote, “Everything has been arranged in the best way.”

In response to her announcement, Li Bingbing’s long-time friend and fellow Chinese actor, Quan Ren (任泉), claimed to have been matchmaker and wrote, “As the big matchmaker, I have finally bestowed this beauty to a handsome and talented man. I have fulfilled one of my wishes. With 23 years of friendship now, I have been her left hand. Now, she has found her right hand as well. How great!”

Quan Ren and Li Bingbing’s two-decade friendship started in 1994, when they met while filming the television drama, Yi Lu Deng Hou (一路等候). Growing up in the same province, they shared a similar background and interest and quickly became friends. Due to their continued collaborations through the years and onscreen chemistry, many believed they were an item. With Li Bingbing’s recent announcement, this rumor can finally be put to rest.

  1. I am very shocked at this news if it is true. I kept hearing that Li Bing Bing and Ren Quan were married with a son. I guess those were all rumors. Wow, she is dating someone so much younger than her. I personally would not be able to date someone so much younger since it would be very awkward. Anyways, wish them the best!

  2. 16 years old age gap I think is not that bad… some are even bigger. LBB looks great! Wishing them luck.

    1. @happybi Hi. Happy 2017 to you. 🙂

16 years different is not bad if the man is older, but if the lady is older it is very bad for her. She is taking a big gamble if the man will stay with her forever. Just look at a good example, like Demi Moor and Ashton Kutcher – it’s just a co-incident, they are also 16 years different with each other (54 & 38). AK married to DM for 8 years and he still ended up with a younger woman (Mila Kunis). The chances of a young lady will stay with an older man is so much higher than a young man will stay with an older lady. It’s ironic, but it’s a reality.

I wish them a lot of luck anyway!

      1. @dramas4me Happy 2017! Always good to see you.

True, if it’s the other way around it’ll be better. But I think if she’s not looking for marriage and or just want to be happy with this guy, no harm done. She looks happy in those photos so wishing them luck for sure.

      2. @happybi Yes. Best wishes to them with their relationship. If she doesn’t expect too much in this relationship, then she won’t be disappointed.

Very true and my parents say that women age a lot faster which is why they are kind of against the older women younger man relationship. Yes, 16 years is not too bad of the guy is older, but when the woman is older than that is a different story. My mom always prefers me to be with an older guy because she thinks that is more secure, however,it really varies. Older woman and younger man relationship can work out if the age gap is not too big. How many years do you think would be too much? My mom said that 3-4 years is the most for her in terms of the woman being older but that is her opinion. Some men prefer older women so it really varies.

      4. @hetieshou @akinu

Personally, I think if the man is 10 years older or less is ok because he will be generally more mature and more established (hopefully). For me, if the woman is older – 3 years is the max for me because the risk is too high for the guy to leave her. Just like akinu said – if it floats her boat, then I’m wishing the best for the couple.

You sound like my late mom. She says it is ok if the guy is older even if it is 15 years but a woman cannot be older than a guy by more than 3-4 years or else problems will occur. I used to be strict on age and wanted the guy to be at least my age or older, but I am more open now. But of course the age gap cannot be too big, especially when the woman is older.

Here is an article about a research done on the matter of longevity (or the lack of) of inter-generational relationships.

      http://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2014/11/why-to-marry-someone-your-own-age/382520/

In short, the results reveal the larger the gap, the shorter the relationship will last. What I find interesting is that since most of the “samples” involve older men/younger women coupling, it implicitly debunk the notion that these relationship would last.

      1. @aiya not surprised by this honestly but then most “older” guys aren’t really looking for marriage!!! I can say it’s the same for “older” woman.

      2. @happybi

You sound like you are implying that Li BingBing isn’t looking for marriage because she is an “older” woman. At 43, it is not too old at all to have marriage, assuming the average lifespan of women is around or over 80.

      3. @rainbow28 43 yrs old is def not too old to get married. Still a good age but the issue I see is the guy. He is only 27, if he is maybe in his mid 30s then I think it may be serious between them. Just my opinion. I feel as long as she is happy, all is good.

      4. @happybi
I used to think 43 was late to get married but then my aunt got married at that age. My cousin just got married at 42. It really varies since he is in his late 20s, but it really depends since I know people who were married in their early 20s and are still happily married to this day.

      5. @happybi
Really? You sound like my late mom who says that anything is possible with technology these days. She hated it when people keep bothering me about my biological clock ticking and not being able to have kids and stuff.

You think 43 is a good age to get married? I used to think that is too old when I saw my aunt get married at that age. But now, I may end up like that who knows? But my aunt was already infertile and could not have kids anyways so just wanted to find a lifelong mate that is all.

      6. @hetieshou age is just a number. If a person is healthy and with today technology, kids are possible! My SIL didn’t get married till she was 37. First baby at 40 and currently expecting her #2 at 42. It’s never too late imo as long as the person can financially provide for the their kids and is healthy enough to take care of them. So no worries there. Don’t settle just because you think you are getting older!

      7. @happybi
I don’t expect their relationship will last neither. They are just attracted to each other and date. Li BingBing is successful and has lots of money, so probably she can help him in some way.

      8. @rainbow28 Yep.. as someone mention on the other post, it’s better she’s with a young guy then a 70 yrs old geezer! She looks happy so that is a always good!

      9. @happybi In your earlier post, you stated it would be better if the guy is older. Now you are saying it’s better for her to be with a young guy than a geezer like so many other young HK actresses.

Judging by your vacillation, It appears you are still torn by this issue.

      10. @aiya Nah I’m not torn. my opinion is still the same. If she’s looking for marriage, don’t think this guy is the right age for her. Someone older will be better but not an old geezer like Patrick Tse for example. When I said older, I mean someone who is from mid 30s to mid 50s. And that’s if she is looking for marriage.. But then hey i can be wrong.. this guy might be ready for marriage too. As long as she is happy, that all the matters.

      11. @rainbow28
My aunt got married at 43 and is happily married to this day. But she was not aiming for kids since she is infertile due to this medication she took in the past. Luckily my uncle is nice and was not expecting kids since he has many siblings that can have kids to carry on the bloodline.

  3. So it appears the opposite has happened in Mainland: instead of uncles seeking their nieces like in HK; it is the aunties seeking their nephews. LOL!

Anyway, I note this guy is an “investment manager”. So, if he is put in charge of her assets, that would create a delicate conflict of interest.

  4. wow, 16 years is a big gap even if the man is older. i don’t think dating a younger person regardless of gender is a probably if it is 10 years or less, but more than 10 years is a generation.

i agree with others above that it’s extremely risky. she looks great now but sooner or later, she will hit menopause and everything will south. it will be physically and mentally challenging to maintain the relationship then.

    1. @m0m0
Do you think it is ok for a woman to be 10 years older than a man? I think that it is a bit too much but it is still possible depending on the individuals.

I guess you do not support Kevin and Grace since they have a 20+ years age gap. Plus they are somewhat annoying too.
