Responses

  1. OK I try to keep it clean…..just feel that hes only getting noticed now cos of his new found popularity.

Each to own taste……but seriously he doesn’t appeal to me, looks wise 😛

  2. and i suppose plastic ray does?

btw ray looks way older than ruco like in his mid 40s already

  3. So one crazy fan has given up already? Why so early in the game? Anyway, enjoy your normal life now and the battle still continue…

  4. @exoidus wrong. I go for all natural!!!!!!

If plastic Ray looks 40+ then Ruco looks 60+ He can play Ray’s dad ROFLMAO!!!!

  5. Why am I getting bashed for giving out my opinions, its not like I’m attacking the “crazy” Ruco fans in here. @@

    1. Why? You can bash and you don’t expect to go bash upon? Silly Question!
Also, don’t deny that you’re one crazier fan too lol

      1. Oops I repeat…
Why? Why? Why? You can bash and you don’t expect to get bash upon? Silly Question!

    2. I bash artistes, I don’t bash the fans! sick of you crazy fans, makes me hate Uncle Ruco more 😛

      1. Repect your Uncle, show some manners!

I suppose CRAZY fanz, so ‘crazy’ is a nice word not bashing?

  6. Guys, I give up on voting. No way to win. Clear winner is Ruco. Since there’s still a month to go, it is now whether he will break the 5000 barrier.

    1. Funn,
What happened to the spirit of voting, to place votes for the guy that you believe deserves the title in your opinion and make your voice heard in polls?

      1. My voice drowned out by the crazy voting by a particular group. I do give up. Let their voice be heard. I will just observe.

  7. Ruco Chan leading Raymond Lam over 500+ votes???Like seriously??lol this is new to me! 😀

    1. like it or not Raymond is losing popularity slowly but surely..

      1. Well everyone has to lose popularity at some point in time… Everyone has ups and downs in their career and life and that is normal. However, in Raymond’s case, all of these scandals don’t help either. But even without them, his popularity will have to go down sometime just like anyone…

      2. @betty: yes, only 98% of 12.000 seats are sold. Last years 8.000 seats sold out. Means this year is way better than last years.

  8. I give up!!! We’re all suppose to lend a support to our fav. hunk/s! Look what’s happening, Ruco & Raymond’s fans are bashing each other. I know it’s freedom of speech, but can we keep it clean pls?

    1. Oh, and, please don’t bash me, okay? I’ll be outa here.

  9. support Ruco and love Ruco very much.
pls take good care of yourself.
    all the best to Ruco!

    1. support Ruco and love Ruco very much.
pls take good care of yourself.
      all the best to Ruco!
      AGREE TOO MUCH !
I LOVE RUCO VERY MUCH !!!!!!!!

  10. Ruco, no matter what they said, i will always support you!You are my no 1 !

    1. It is just a game. Just vote who you like. If he didn’t win, he will not lose the place in your heart too. I support and love Ruco.

  11. I voted 3 times for Kenneth, 1 for Daniel Wu… but it doesn’t change anything and WOW to Ruco’s popularity. I think Ruco is quite famous nowadays..

    1. @sandy: You don’t want Ruco and his fans are insulted, why you want to insult LF and his fans? Habit?

  12. Joel Chan (陳山聰)is ranked last with 3 votes. How did he get 6% of the total votes? All the other artists with 21 or less votes only scored 0%.

  13. I think the best-looking is Takeshi Kaneshiro, followed by Louis Koo. But I really hope they both can quit smoking for health’s sake…

      1. agree. I am taking part in some forums in VietNam, Kevin’fans have more than 2000 members. If system is right, now Kevin is winner. I only talk about VN, Kevin’fans is in over the world (especially mainlaind. I don’t know do they know about this poll? or wrong system. Anyway, Kevin is no. 1

      2. kevin isnot 50 and he is young, hot, handsome, sexy. da best.ruco how old?look 50.

      1. Ruco is the best now, ruco is more handsome, mature, good figure/looking, very good acting skills than kevin cheng whom i liked before, but actually ruco is better than he now !!

  14. How can we cheat in your system? Each person is only allowed to submit one vote in every 24 hours. I tried (for fun) to submit a vote on another computer on the same day, but it was NOT accepted.

Let me know how to cheat in this voting game so that I can cheat!!

      1. not everyone is computer tech savvy.
I vote for Ruco everyday using 1 pc 1 IP!

  15. vote for kevin everybody.give him our loves.donot cheat we arenot cheap as ruco fans.

    1. Kevin Cheng was born in 1969 while Ruco Chan was born in 1977. Please tell me who is older in age.

Though Kevin may have more than 2000 fans in Vietnam, does every one of them vote every day in this Forum?

      1. Anyway the top 3 artists are popular artists and they are leading the poll almost right from the beginning.

      2. it is the truth. However,I don’t know do they vote for Kevin everyday?. Kevin maybe is older than Ruco in age, but he looks like younger than Ruco. If you read news of TVB, artists admire hislook. Ruco is not

      3. I like Kevin too but please don’t attack Ruco in any way. Both of them is good too.

    2. I respect your love for Kevin, but, please restrain yourself. We all love our dear hunks. Honestly, I also like Kevin as well. Cheers!!

  16. Who think Kenneth MA and Steven MA are handsome?? is it only me?

    1. it’s me. I think they look good. Both of them have this kind of Good boy look in their face haha.

    2. @Veejay,

I am just watching their final episode!! the two MAs are handsome!! I like them

  17. everybody votes for Kevin. He is the most handsome guys in this poll

  18. Recently, forum of Kevin is broken, it is needed to fix. So, Maybe alot of Kevin’fans don’t know about this poll

  19. Jik, Where do you live? is there any forums of Kevin’fans in your country? if yes, you should post topic about this poll for everybody. I think a lot of Kevin’fans don’t know about this poll

  20. Jik,
It’s unfair for you to call other fan group voters “cheaters” siimply because they came in large numbers to suppporite their favorite idols.

Ruco’s fans came in large numers because there are links from tvb.com, baidu, fan club, facebook. Etc. The poll link was well circulated and I welcome their participation because they came to support their actor, which is the point of thhe poll.

In tracking my referral links, there were also facebook posts for Raymond Lam, Kenneth Ma, Steven Ma, Moses Chan, Kevin Cheng, and Baidu links for Raymond Wong promoting this poll. However, how the fans react and whether they decide to vote is beyond anyone’s control.

JayneStars implemented technical controls to the best of our abilities to prevent cheating of votes annd for the most part, the current numer of votes are fair and reflective of the number of fans for that particular actor on this site.

If you would like to see Kevin have more votes, you can promote this poll on other sites to pull in more voters, just like other fans have been doing. No need to accuse other fans’ integrity.

The results are NOT rigged on JayneStars and only reflect the voting patterns of worldwide fans.

  21. hey, do you think every one has 5 computer? I think you are sick in the head!!

    1. If you don’t believ, you can read the old comments. I think you are stupid, if you go to 5 internet stores, you can do that. too stupid

    2. if you ae willing to pay 5 internet store, you deserve thumb up, continue to do that smart head

    3. oh. only 2 minutes you can comletely vote. It takes a little of money. Ruco’s fans did that. Read the old comments, you will see

    4. if a fan would go to 5 web bars everyday to vote, he/she really loves his/her choice of man, just for that he/she deserve to win, be honest, how many people would do that?

    5. Lol, dun need 5 computer stores. Only need some softwares like Hide ID or Fake ID or even proxy can help. Just that wanna use it or not.

  22. it’s not about sexiest man anymore, it’s about who has more powerful fan base.

    1. But the one with the powerful fanbase also believes he is the sexiest

    2. Is this the name of the game? If you put these stars here, of course, it is fan base, otherwise, I will put my boyfriend’s picture . hahaha

      1. @sandy, you’re soooo funny!! I should put my ex on this poll as well, hahaha….

    3. Also, it doesn’t mean I am not capable, my boyfriend is a top IT persron. But, I don’t think Ruco’s fan need to cheat in order to win. Go to TVB.com, Ruco is #1 popular stars for more than a month.

      1. I hope Ruco wins The Most Popular Award at TVB.com this year too even though it’s usually even to the one who wins Best Actor or My Favorite Character. 🙂 The times I’ve went on TVB.com, he was first. Don’t know if he still is tho.

  23. No problems, everyone should come here and have fun. I am not shame that I am Ruco’s fans, I vote for him everyday. I hope he will win, but also likes other fans’ challenge.more fun. I also don’t believe all Ruco’s fans are cheater, I swear that I am not.

    1. I voted once everyday. I believe all Ruco’s fans take the effort to come here every 24 hours to give their votes to support Ruco.

  24. Jayne – how many members have you increased from this poll?

We need a celebration. Some of these fans are quite fiesty!

    1. Pandamao,
Traffic has increased a bit, didn’t carefully analyze the numbers.

Are you offering to plan a party?

      1. Fiesty, indeed! Are we all invited? Haha…. good going!
I’m happy your site is becoming more popular. You’re the first “English, Chinese” website I’ve visited. Keep it going.

      2. Honestly, Jayne, I seriously enjoyed your site. Please keep it going, I’m sure you’ll gain success more sooner than you think. With love.

      3. yeah, agree Pandamao, @Jayne you did a great job:D

Luv this poll! I am also delighted to know so many English speakers love our hunks!!
I came every half a day and voted for.. more than 10 men now?? I only click twice for Andy Lau and Ruco. I am sure its just a game. Enjoy everyone!

      4. Thanks Jayne for the site. I just discover this recently and it’s surely informative for someone who doesn’t read chinese.

      1. I was not able to vote most of the time recently. Whenever I clicked on your website, I had the result page, and not the page to submit votes. Then I will forget to submit my vote easily for that day.

What has happened to your website? You don’t want people to submit their votes regularly on a daily basis?!

  25. I like all top 3 artists. They are all sexy (in fact, attractive and handsome). I agree that Kevin is older in age, but he is baby-faced. He looks younger than his actual age.

Let’s support our favourite artist, and don’t fight or call other fans “cheaters”. If Ruco’s fans know how to cheat in this voting game, they are great. I did try to cheat once for fun, but I was not successful. I don’t think it is that easy to cheat.

    1. Agree. I love Kevin. He is really handsome, hot. Artor and actress of TVB say that he is too handsome

      1. Wow, I know artists who admire Kevin’s look. EX: kenneth Ma, Bossco Wong, Myolie Wu, Niki Chow,…is it right?. In fact, He has attractive eyes

  26. The one I voted for will never win. Too far below. But, I’m still voting. Makes his number a little bit better also good. 😀

      1. Hey, don’t give up, there’s still almost a month away, anything can happen. Remember, what goes up must come down. Cheers to your fav.

  27. I voted for my favourite actor, but I guess he won’t win, but I want to make his number of votes look good! 🙂

  28. I was not able to submit my votes most of the time lately. Whenever I clicked on your website site, I had the “Results” page instead of the front page on which we can submit votes. What has happened to your website? Why can’t we get on the front page right away? If I cannot vote after a few attempts, I will forget it easily.

  29. I tried it for at least 7 to 8 times, and still got the “Results” page. Can someone please tell me why I can’t get the main page (the page that I can submit a vote)?

    1. Hello, Sandcherry, I’m 92256. When this happens, click on the side with the “Sexiest Man Alive

      1. What happen? You site just wild on me. Anyways click on the side of the “Sexiest Man Alive” , it would bounce back to the vote poll. Good Luck!

      2. Unless, there’s technical problem! Maybe, Jayne can help.

  30. I tried everywhere on the “Results” page, anything listed with “2011 Sexiest Man Alive in Hong Kong Award VOTE NOW”, and it did not work. I still had the “Results” page. There might be some technical problems on your website. This happened to me all the time in the last few days.

  31. Haven’t checked the results for 2 days and…

    Ruco = 1,494 Votes!!

WOWO!! But now I wonder can Kevin catch up to Ray? The difference isn’t that much.

    1. Yeah, Kevin is catching up. Hurray!!!!!I
I must admit my fav. is Ruco. , then 2nd Kevin and 3rd Raymond. Hey, I’m not bias, I like who I like, okay?

      1. Sorry, fans, you should support who you like the most, and ignore others comments. Especially mine, hehe…

      2. in fact, there are alot of Kevin’fans don’t know about this poll. I love Kevin most. He is really handsome, attractive. I vote for Kevin everyday.

      3. I’m so happy! All my favorite hunks are on the top 3. Yeah!! Celebration!!

      4. Me too….I like 3 of them too but now my 1st choice is Ruco Chan.

  32. i vote for Clayton Li bcause of my frnd request…
but later i will vote for this 3 hot n cute men
Leehom Wang & William Chan & Shawn Yue

  33. Jayne!! The shoutbox is nowhere to be seen, same as those on my blogs. Technical problem I suppose. Wanted to ask; any new contest? Wanna join contest!

    1. @Funn @Everyone

Here is a preview of fun things coming up at JayneStars for the next few months:

“Sexiest Man Alive in HK” poll running until Sept. 30th.

Friday, Sept. 30th- We will have online awards ceremony for “Sexiest Man Alive in Hong Kong” and chat session for fans. Details to be announced later.

“Sexiest Woman Alive in HK” poll to start in October.

In November, we will have an essay contest, “Why I Like Ruco Chan” so we can hear from worldwide fans why he has won so many hearts. The prize will be announced later.

I remember your suggestion for the wallpaper contest. Will definitely implement that sometime too.

As always, if anyone has any wonderful ideas for contest or giveaway prizes, please e-mail me at [email protected].

Need more suggestions for websites that ship worldwide. That way, I do not always have to issue gift certificates from yesasia.com only.

      1. “In November, we will have an essay contest, “Why I Like Ruco Chan” so we can hear from worldwide fans why he has won so many hearts. The prize will be announced later.”

Wow Jayne you gotta be impartial!! Ruco Chan may not win!

      2. But I don’t love Ruco Chan, so I don’t know what write in the essay except, I don’t love Ruco Chan, LOL!!
Anyways, good luck to all those who join the contest. Thank you Jayne for setting up contest for commenters to participate in.

      3. Funn Lim, Good Point! Why don’t we request the fans from first three winners to submit their essays to show their love and support for their idols. This way, everybody is happy and we all have a better understanding of other artistes as well. It’s a win/win situation. We all will have fun.

      4. Funn, Silverfox

The November essay contest is not related to the “Sexiest Man Alive in HK” poll. I am being impartial. Last year, I already had a “Why I Like Raymond Lam” contest, so it would be a repeat in topic. Every once in awhile,, we can rotate the topic of the contest so everyone gets a turn.

Hmm…why must everything be approached with negativity, whether it is the poll or contest?

      5. Jayne, I thought it is related. Like who won, will have essays written sort of thing!

      6. Funn,
No the November essay is not related to the poll. I just happened to post it here in response to your question regarding upcoming contests.

The essay contest is a good channel for the fans to write expressive essays on why they like a particular artist, other than the normal “love” messages which tend to be short.

When the “Why I Like Raymond Lam”contest took place last year, we had good reaction overall. It’s just continuation efforts to celebrate fandom. There will be turns for other artists to be topic of essay contest, so no need for cries of unfairness.

  34. Yay, I am a fan of Ruco, never knew about this poll until now.. Just voted for him. Ruco is winning. I used to like Raymond Lam but he is not that attractive anymore, I still like him as an artiste but he is lacking the charisma now somehow. Also I think Raymond should really brush up his acting skills or he might be overshadowed by his peers like Bosco, Ron, Kenneth Ma and the rising star
    Ruco!

    1. It seems more and more Ruco’s fans is coming over to put their votes.

      1. This is good for Jayne, the more the merrier. Let’s get them all in support Jaynestar.com

  35. Dearest Ruco Chan’s fans, the owner of the website everyone,

For and on behalf of Raymond Lam’s fans, I would like to request you to delete our idol’s name from this poll.

Firstly, we do not understand the purpose of Ruco Chan’s fans to bash Raymond Lam in any small piece of message. It is very unfriendly. We understand your love to Ruco Chan as we are also loving and devoting for our idol. However, your actions are pointless and only can create the ungrateful war amongst the fans. We do not hope to participate any war like this. It will affect the image of the idol and the fan club. Please respect other people and fan clubs.

Secondly, we hope you will understand how our feeling to see that our idol is bashed unreasonably. For example, it is a terrible personal attack to call Raymond Lam “Gaymond”. We would like to know your feeling when Ruco Chan is called “Rude Co”. Raymond Lam does not do anything harm to Ruco Chan herein or anywhere else. In fact they have never collaborated directly. They are doing their own jobs. I would like to inform that there are fans of the two idols. It is a must to stop the personal attack herein.

Finally, we are happy for Ruco Chan to have a large and enthusiastic fan club. However, please use your enthusiasm for the good deeds.

Last but not least, our small idol Raymond Lam is not suitable for a poll like this. We would like to anticipate his works more than participate in this type of poll. We are therefore kindly requesting the owner of the website to put our idol out of the poll and give back the peace to the website. We affirm it is the best method to stop all the personal attacks herein and to prevent the war between fan clubs.

We appreciate you for your understanding.

    Raymond Lam’s fans.

    1. hi, I think you are half blind, just go back and read everything before you open you mouth.

first, RF’s fans started calling US cheater because RF is way behind Ruco. Go to TVB or any other website, RF was never that hot even TVB always promoted him. it is his own evil behavior holding him back.

and, some of your fans name Ruco “uncle Ruco” 🙂 and other bad comments

and who are you here to representing RF’s fans? another his girl? remember when you point at others, ther are four fingers pointing at yourself, tell your OWN people not to call us CHEATER first, they are insulting ALL OF US, understand??????

just remember, you want others to respect you, respect youself FIRST

      1. I think you are mistaken Kevin’s fans with LF’s fans, the one who actually called Ruco’s fans cheater is Kevin’s fans

      2. Your quick conclusion is funny. Do you respect yourself enough? Girl, calm down, take a tea and enjoy it :P.

    2. Seriously? When did Raymond Lam hire his fans as his spokesperson? He is not the only one being called named, and it is even out with many fans praising him. Show your might by voting for him.

      1. I don’t get what the big deal is with when your favorite idol is bashed by others?? Who doesn’t get bashed?? You can defend him/her, but I don’t feel that you have the authority to request this and that… I find that unnecessary…

    3. Macy,
While I understand your concern that some fan groups are needlessly bash each other’s idols, I do not feel that it is necessary to withdraw Raymond Lam from the poll. While there may be dissenters, there are just as many fans wishing to show support and vote for him in the poll.

The intention behind the poll is to celebrate the attraction of these male artists. Generally fans leave messages of support while there have been some criticisms as well. I will try to encourage more positive remarks and positive spirit for the remainder of the poll race. Rather than focus on the criticisms, focus on the positive energy and that Raymond has many supporters as well!

      1. Well said,

Ruco’s fans have never initiated any bashings of other artistes. I have been following this website and reading the comments here..it’s fans of other artistes who started the war, not only in this website, in TVB forums as well and the thing is, only a few Ruco’s fans will retaliate unlike some other artistes fans.

I also think that RL’s fans should not be overly sensitive and protective over RL, needless to mention, he wouldnt know a single thing about all you that do to protect him. It’s just a game afterall.
        Chill and have fun.
I can’t imagine if there comes a time when both Ruco and RL shares a leading role in the same series, wonder what will happen.:D. The upcoming one will be The Three Kingdom.

      2. TVB forum? Lol, this is the best place for bashes. To visit TVB forum mean you must have a really good skill in language because there, you can see how good in bash words ppl are.

    4. @Macy:

Firstly, I agree with you that it is not very nice to make fun of anyone’s name and associate it with something controversial and untrue, irregardless of whether he is an average Joe on the streets or a big shot celebrity. Thus, I appreciate your effort to step up and interject, in a bid to end all future insulting comments on Raymond Lam.

However, as much as most of us empathized with your desire to protect Raymond Lam, I don’t think it is that appropriate for you to represent the “voice” of Raymond Lam’s fans and request that Jayne removes Raymond from the poll, unless you are the president of his official fan club and has sought the approval of all the members of that fan club and Raymond himself.

And from what I have gathered, Raymond Lam is not just any small idol, he has hordes of fans from all over the regions from Asia, United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Raymond is in fact quite a big idol and one of the most popular actors in TVB. Thus, Raymond’s exclusion from the poll would lead to consequences like his fans getting disappointed and most importantly, the results of the poll would be deeply affected too.

I hope you understand that @Jayne is just trying her best to organize a poll to create a more “lively” atmosphere for her readers and commentators out there. As much as Jayne tries her best to make everything in this site perfect, as with every poll, article or video, comments are inevitable. It is not rational to remove Raymond from the poll just because of a few  irresponsible comments made by Ruco’s fans, when they don’t even stand for the representation of the site.

Furthermore, there will always be other polls and much more established ones like the Next Magazine Top 10 Television Artistes and the year end TVB Anniversary Awards’ Most Popular TV Character, for which Raymond’s name and Ruco’s name might still be placed in the running hence I doubt @Jayne’s removal of Raymond’s name from the poll will make any difference or can act as a permanent solution to the problem.

      1. *I meant accuracy of the results of the poll would be deeply affected.

  36. Casted one vote for Chilam because that smile in the picture is absolutely attractive.

    1. I like Chilam too but in recent JSG Selection Round 2,he wear weird pant and his hairdo also doesn’t look good.
So far,I only vote for him one,my other votes go to Lam Fung.

      1. Haha. This is also the first time I voted for him. Everyday voted for the same person, I get bored. So, change a bit. Will vote back my regular choice later. 🙂

  37. To add in, in 3Kingdom, Ruco is not the leading actor, RL is, so there won’t be any conflicts and ‘war’ between he fans, i hope.

  38. What happened to your website? I tried at least 10 times today (at different time) and still got the “Results” page. How can I submit my vote on the “Results” page?

    Any technical problems again?

  39. Jayne, are you trying to discourage people from voting for their favourite artistes? Traffic is too heavy!?

    1. I just voted and it’s working. You can vote once a day (aka 24 hrs). Maybe the traffic is heavy, maybe the problem is your own browser cookies/cache.

Be patient and try again later. Spamming and complaining at Jayne won’t help.

  40. Dearest owner of the website, everyone,

Firstly, please be informed that we are acting for the oversea fan club system of Raymond Lam. We received many complains from Raymond Lam’s fans for the bashes come from this poll. We therefore would like to raise voice with the hope that our idol will not be dragged in any kind of unnecessary war between fan clubs.

Secondly, before providing the comment, we checked carefully every single comments in the poll to have a picture of the happening herein. We understand the conflicts contributed by some Raymond Lam’s fans. Thus, we would like to stop the fans from the unappreciated actions.

Thirdly, we would like the owner of the website to put our idol out of the list for peace sake. Our idol is a small man and he never wants to see any war between any fan club and us. Please understand that we love the peace therefore we never take part in any unofficial polls or destructive debates. We do not support any fans or any person to participate in these debates. The image of the idol and the fan club is very important and we would like to maintain it in the eyes of the fans. We understand this poll is unofficial and unestablished unlike the polls of TVB, hence it is unreasonable for our idol to be bashed.

Finally, we are requesting you to put him out of the list without any link to Raymond Lam himself. This is the decision of the fans who we act for. Raymond Lam is concerning on his work and we are supporting him to use the actions to clear up the negative criticism. We do not want to participate a war in the sensitive moment herein. Please understand that the decision is made by the fans of Raymond Lam. I am the representative but I will not provide any personal opinions. In our heart, Raymond Lam is a small man with a heart of gold. He will feel very upset to be dragged in the destructive debates. We understand him and make the decisions with the hope that it will be the best method to solve the matters arisen.

As a result, we appreciate your understandings and collaboration. We hope you shall help us to put his name out and delete every negative comments contributed by Raymond Lam’s fans and Ruco Chan’s fans. We understand our requests are very excessive but we do not have the second choice.

Last but not least, we gathered the decisions of fans before requesting, we have their approval accordingly.

Thank you very much in advance.

For and on behalf of Raymond Lam’s fans.

    1. Seriously?!

Why only Raymond? Why censorship exclusively for him? Does fan approval means censorship is tolerated? Whatever said here, it is not defamatory. Maybe name calling is childish but if you want to do Ray any favours, please stop with this request. This place is open to all, censoring no one, and definitely not for any star in particular. Simply tell your fellow fans to not come here. It is that simple. And frankly, Ray didn’t get the worst and I believe the worst “abuse” is not even in this site. So by your comment, Jayne should just delete every single Raymond news, and not translate any at all. In fact Raymond Lam does not exist here if that is what you’re asking.

” In our heart, Raymond Lam is a small man with a heart of gold. He will feel very upset to be dragged in the destructive debates.”

Will doesn’t mean he is. I am sure he has more things to be upset over, namely those exposes and accusations being levied over him. And why call your idol a small man? It is derogatory. He is a big man with a big heart and he will rise above these name callings. Why not think that way?

      Seriously?!

      1. I totally agree with you Funn and found it bit a bit ridiculous when I saw Macy Chan’s message. First of all, this is NOT a fan of site where we favor any particular actor or actress. Therefore, if anyone is a big die hard fan, then I think it is better for them not to come here at all… Why should Raymond get special treatment over everyone else?? This is not a fan site dedicated to him but is a news site from HK artists. I also don’t feel that any of us had said anything very bad or offensive using inappropriate language about Raymond or anyone… I think that is the problem with one idol worshippers, they think that their favorite is the best that they try to protect them in every way possible. Basically, they are blind and obessed to the point that it is scary….

      2. I would think the more destructive comment would be to call Him Law a woman basher or something like that.

    2. You forgot something!

Raymond Lam said: “the most important is to have recognition from audience.” attracted from AsianFanatics’ website.

How can remove Raymond’s pic off the poll when Ray himself said recognition is important for him? besides, this is just a fun Voting games for everyones, don’t take it hard ok? Ppl fighting and bashing each others are normal, it creates creativitiness in chatting, debates and ideas exchanging.

      1. Simple and sorry I had to say this;

Because… he thinks he is.. special therefore deserves special treatment? Because recognition is good recognition with all the bad ones removed? Like you know what is going on in North Korea?

      2. @Funn,

My message was dedicated to Macy Chan just for your info.

    3. Hi Macy,

While I understand that several of Raymond’s overseas fans have not responded well to this poll and have requested you to represent the fans to remove his name from the poll, I find this request does not solve the root of the issue, which is that a public figure such as Raymond Lam will get his fair share of praise and criticism no matter which website you come across, unless you are visiting only his fan forums and blogs dedicated to praising him only.

“We understand this poll is unofficial and unestablished unlike the polls of TVB, hence it is unreasonable for our idol to be bashed.”

Will you contact every forum or blog owner that has negative comments posted about him? Will you request that every website who is running an “unofficial” poll to remove Raymond Lam’s name from the poll? Are you limiting the expression of worldwide fans to express their support for their idols? Will you contact every website that features negative fan comments about Raymond to modify their editorial contents to comply with the wish of select members of his overseas fans? Do you wish that Raymond Lam is never mentioned on our site forever, to avoid any and possible future negative comments that may arise? Meanwhile, perhaps you should consider contacting other websites/ forums and restrict them from posting any Raymond related news as well because depending on the news at hand, possible negative comments may erupt. As you can see, such a wish to “silence,” “police online communication” and “censor fans’ comments” would be endless and an impractical approach.

“Please understand that we love the peace therefore we never take part in any unofficial polls or destructive debates. We do not support any fans or any person to participate in these debates. The image of the idol and the fan club is very important and we would like to maintain it in the eyes of the fans.”

Should the matter at hand offend the aforementioned members of your fan club, it may be best that they not participate in this current poll. There is a choice in the selective information they choose to focus on. However, it is impractical and unfair to place a request to remove Raymond’s name from the poll, as you are limiting the expression of all the other Raymond Lam fans who have participated and supported this poll as well.

“We do not want to participate a war in the sensitive moment herein. Please understand that the decision is made by the fans of Raymond Lam.”

If you have monitored the activity of the voting results on a daily basis, approximately 100 votes are placed for Raymond Lam each day. While I understand that the poll comments have unsettled a few fans which you worry would affect his image and thus you are representing your collective decision to request the removal of his name, what about the approximate 100 people who are voting for them on a daily basis? Do their wishes not count? Through the voting patterns alone, many Raymond fans are supportive of this poll and that is why they continue to visit daily to place their votes.

If you visit any major forum site, there will be dissenters and supporters of a certain artist. The voices of fans should be allowed free expression to voice their opinions and support. Our site is an open-discussion channel thus we have a diverse fan community. Our site is for open-minded fans who are able to accept a range of feedback, whether it is praise or criticism. We are not a site dedicated to one artist only, as we serve the interests of a community with a wide interest.

In fact, last year, I organized a “Why I Like Raymond Lam” essay contest which celebrated the reasons why fans like Raymond, whether it is due to his acting and personality. My website treats all artists equally and is born out of a love of Hong Kong entertainment. While certain comments may have been questionable in taste recently, it certainly should not be a discouragement that fans request the immediate halt of his participation in the poll. There are many Raymond Lam fans here who would like to continue to show support for him. Do the wishes of this site’s readers not count? Are the voices of all fans NOT equal?

Your current request is against my website policies, in which we run an open-community open to all, in which fans are given the ability to express their voices, whether through regular comments or polls. In essence, your request equates to censorship and editorial modification of my website’s contents, which I cannot comply with.

If you are concerned that certain reader comments allude to a destructive, negative image of Raymond which you find extremely disturbing, I can go ahead and delete the “Gaymond” comments which you mentioned. I would like to keep the atmosphere of the poll positive as well. However, I will not be removing his name from the poll due to the above mentioned reasons.

      1. Jayne I applaud your reply. However I would like to point out if you remove so called offensive remarks (which isn’t, just childish) for Ray, then you must remove for everybody else and this amounts to censorship in the end which is against your policy. That I disagree. It is time these fans grow up and learn that being called Gaymond is no big deal and shouldn’t be big deal. No lines has been crossed.

      2. Funn,
For the sake of this “Sexiest Man Alive Poll in Hong Kong” which is meant to be celebratory and positive in nature, I will have to go through the existing 800 comments and delete the offensive ones for all actors to be fair. Let’s not focus on the negativity which has shrouded the poll. Let us not forget the spirit of the poll, which is to support your favorite sexy man!

Overall, I am against censorship. However, I would like to also promote a positive environment for all fans to co-exist. So if the two cannot co-exist, then we may need partial censorship in some instances.

      3. I think to delete some messages is ok. The bashes make the poll look not good and seem to be a battle more than a game. Make ppl angry and not funny anymore :P.

But not only for LF. Delete the comments like cheater, too. The fans should learn a lesson that cheat is a part of any poll.

      4. Jayne this is your site so it is for you to make the rules and enforce it. Personally the only problem seems to come from Ray’s fans who represents just a minor number as compared to others. Any posts, poll or articles of meant to be informative in nature and in this case celebratory but not everybody loves the same guy. They have their reasons and by editing out the negatives and just leaving the positives makes it unreal. My suggestion is to close the comments. For future polls, disallow comments. Because nothing I have read has crossed any lines, even the cheats comments which can be easily explained by putting up statistics to shut them up.

      5. Funn,
Good suggestion. The poll includes a lot of popular celebrities and in their zest to support certain artists, some fans have resorted to negative attacks. It is indeed disheartening that this poll, which was celebratory in intention, have been perceived and viewed otherwise by others.

    4. @Macy Chan,
I also want to tell you that regardless of how popular or famous any artist is, there will be people that will NOT like them…. That goes for everyone and you need to respect that…When I first saw your message, I honestly could not believe that you could make such a request to Jayne because it sounded very ridiculous and unrealistic. Don’t tell me you expect everyone to like Raymond like you and his die hard fans do. That will never happen since no one can ever be liked by everyone…

      1. Do you misread? Macy Chan said no word that she expect LF is liked by everyone :P.

      2. But she expects love? Love is more powerful than like? Kidding kidding! But she did expect preferential treatment. I know her need to protect Raymond but surely Raymond doesn’t need this sort of protecting. He should protect himself against his ex-girlfriend(s), those are the ones damaging his reputation. As for maintaining peace with fans, look, there are those childish, there are those not childish, what can you do? Like Jayne said, go to every forum and request removal of materials? No need to maintain peace. It is all words in the internet until and unless someone act it out physically or if Ray writes a personal letter, attaching a wet kleenex soaked through with his tears.

      3. She expects love in where? I think she expects not to see a war more :P.

I think ppl are kinda overact toward her message. I read it and I don’t find that she wanna delete all the negative comments. She asked for the respect and feeling more :).

At least she didn’t say something like Jaynestar is an anti site, lol.

      4. She did not say that but it seems that she implies it and as Funn says, it seems that she expects “love” not just like.

      5. Fox, she did

“We hope you shall help us to put his name out and delete every negative comments contributed by Raymond Lam’s fans and Ruco Chan’s fans. “

      6. Problem for Jayne is how she knows which is by Ruco fans? Some can pretend to be ruco fan.

      7. @Funn @Everyone
“Problem for Jayne is how she knows which is by Ruco fans? Some can pretend to be ruco fan.”

I think it is unnecessary to speculate which artist’s fans made negative comments. Fact is that it happened and it offended. I think this is a good compromise in closing the comments section of poll to prevent future extreme derogatory remarks, which may be perceived as impacting an artist’s image in a disturbing manner, while retaining the celebratory spirit of the poll and the integrity of our website.

Okay comments section of this poll is now closed.

      8. @Funn: Heard of the new scandal with Miss Universal? The showed statics is rigged :), not by the ogranisers but the fans. In details, Miss Thailand has unexpected high votes because the Thailands used a software to change IP and vote for her. She might be removed because of such statics. I feel pity for her, not her fault at all. And she is one of the prettiest among the Misses this year.

So not that Jayne did something with the poll (which I blv she didn’t) but the fans themselves can do.

However, like I always said, cheat is a part of any poll. So if you can’t cheat, can’t blame others. To cheat, you also need good skills :).

Hehe, I now rmb that I forget to vote for few days :P.

      9. Fox, it was a joke. But what I do mean is some fans expect not just liking their idol BUT loving, and loving is a deeper feeling.

    5. Personally, as a fan, I think that you and your peers think too much.

I understand what you are concerning. However, the destructive debates or not just depends on the view of the readers. Ok, I can see that there are some ridiculous comments in here, may caused by the angry fans (I’m not talking about any particular fans, in general). To see the fave artist or idol is bashed, nobody will feel good. I also understand that you are more concerning on the war and wanna stop it. However, I can tell you, it’s meaningless.

In fact, I blv that the ones who called LF by name, not all of them are Ruco fans :P. I know that, but dun ask me for why :P. I dun have problem with it because I think these name are quite creative and can’t hurt the artists. And well, these angry fans are childish. Do you wanna be as childish as them?

Overall, I blv that the game will still on. Avoid one, can’t avoid whole. Delete him out of the poll or not isn’t important. It’s more of how the fans view him.

Lol, my friend said: “To have a small scale of supportive fans is better than having a bunch of weak fans”. Maybe you should keep this in your mind. Well, be open. Just a game.

  41. Personally, I hope Jayne would not remove Raymond from the poll. It deprive other people who want to vote for Raymond to vote for him. It is also impeding Jayne’s right to run her website as she sees fit.

Just because Jayne’s poll is unofficial and established, it is all right to request her to take it down because a section of Raymond’s fanclub don’t like it? Is Jayne easier target because she has less power than TVB.com and other official website?

But, the final decision is still up to Jayne.

    1. Sorry, typo mistake.

I meant to say ‘Just because Jayne’s poll is unofficial and unestablished, it is alright to request her to take it down because a section of Raymond’s fanclub don’t like it? ‘

    2. Of course Jayne won’t remove his name. Because if Jayne removes his name and as requested, EVERY negative comments posted about Ray, then Jayne should also remove EVERY positive comments and every news translation about Ray. That is only fair isn’t it? Insane request. Does it mean even his fans think Ray can’t take a bit of criticisms? So delicate?

      1. I always think liking an idol shouldn’t go in an extreme way, it just scares ppl off with such demand and talking on behalf of their idol!

      2. Agree! I myself am a huge fan of someone who has his critiques but I never would publicly do that. Maybe privately curse all to eternal damnation but not publicly. Just imagine the female poll later on. I can imagine the remarks.

      3. @Veejay,
Really agree with you and I think that it is unhealthy to be too obsessed with any idol. If you are a true fan, then you need to accept their faults and know when to critique them as well and not just protect them all the time… If you can’t do that then you are not a true but a blind fan.

      4. @Funn Lim @Kidd @Veejay:

@Macy, we are not going to delete Raymond’s name from the poll no matter what. Please understand that if @Jayne makes an exception for Raymond Lam’s fans today, then @Jayne will also have to make an exception for all the other artistes’ fans in the future thus we are going to stand firm on this issue and will not budge.

Furthermore, the Internet is such a huge and wide platform and with today’s modern era of “freedom of speech”, everyone can comment about any issue they deemed fit, even if it meant giving irresponsible comments. How many negative comments of Raymond Lam can you get people to delete? You can probably get one or two people to delete some but you can’t possiblity delete all of them. The Internet is a fast-going jargon, even if you delete one today, there will still be more tomorrow.

Furthermore, haters will always be haters. Even if you try your best to avoid conflicts with them, it doesn’t mean they won’t continue bashing Raymond at other forums, the problem will still persist. If you really want to end all possible conflicts with them, the best solution is to win them over with sincerity by making the first step and be gracious enough to reach out to Ruco’s fan club and understand what’s the issue that some of them have with Raymond Lam and try to correct any misunderstanding they have of him and not ask us to delete those comments, we are not Ruco’s fan club manx, we cannot help you in dispariting the unjustified hatred nor do we have any issues with Raymond Lam and most importantly, we are not the crux that lies in this whole issue. In fact, most of us love him, which is why he is in our poll.

      5. I don’t understand though, why so certain it is Ruco’s fans? I don’t see a competition between Ruco and Ray except in this poll. Surely everyone is more “big hearted” when it comes to this poll rather than being so small minded? You wanna talk numbers? No offense to Ruco’s fans, Ray is already established and I have no doubt if Ray and Ruco each held a meet the fans session, Ray’s venue will be 3 times bigger.

Now isn’t that the real compliment rather than whatever is posted in here?

      6. And everyone, please do not kindly go around saying that this poll is rigged. In no way, is this poll rigged as Jayne did not do anything to it and is just presenting it in the most transparent way possible. By spreading untrue rumors that this poll is rigged, people will be misled into thinking that it is true and would damage the reputation of Jaynestars, trampling the goodwill that Jayne put into this poll and is extremely insulting to Jayne’s integrity.

Furthermore, we are not senior management staff of *** company. Why would we rig it? In what way can we gain from it if we rigged it? And honestly, this is the first time I heard accusations of rigging of votes from an online poll, how is the huge no. of votes received from fans of a candidate called rigging in any way? Not happy? Gather fellow fans to vote for your favorite celebrity as well then.

      7. Ah K,
Thank you! I can’t say it in better words.

There is indeed no incentive or need for us to rig the results of this poll. We are an open community and do not represent any artists or management companies in the Hong Kong entertainment industry. The poll is created as a channel for worldwide fans to show their support of their favorite artists. The results are fair and represent the voting patterns of the worldwide community. Although the current voting results may be unexpected or not as you desire, kindly do not speculate that the results are rigged. We stand behind the integrity of the poll and that the results are fair and represent the voices of the worldwide fan community.

      8. Ah k, simple solution. At the close of the poll, Jayne can post screencaps of the statistics. Like where majority of polls are. I don’t think it is rigged, I just think a bunch of fans either really love Ruco or really dislike everyone else.

      9. I also don’t get why anyone would think that results are rigged?? This is just a fun online poll and isn’t a big pageant competition or contest so what is the big deal???

  42. Your rule is: there is only one vote allowed per 24 hours. However, if my 1st vote was submitted at 2 a.m., and I was not able to get on at 2 a.m. the next day, I would lose some hours. Since it is so hard to log on to the “voting” page, there is no way I can keep on voting every 24 hours. If I postponed 2 hours (in order to log on) a day and sometimes more, I can easily lose a day (24 hours) in a few days. I don’t know why it is so hard to log on to the “voting” page. I have already lost almost 2 days by now.

    1. Have to cleared your browser’s cache? Maybe that will do. I never have problem voting.

    2. Sandcherry,
Occasionally we get complaints similar as yours. Did you try Internet Explorer? Maybe upgrade your browser to latest version? Or simply, we might have occasional plugin errors with the voting software, which we will look into to see if we can resolve the issues.

    3. Are you using proxy or any software to hide IP? If you are using, the result of overuse these software is your computer and your network connection will be affected because these proxies and softwares often include virus inside.

The solution is: Stop using proxy, uninstall the software out of your computer, defragment your C hardware and next time, don’t use these softwares.
