• I love Esther! She's probably my favorite of the 7 Dong Ka Fa Dans. Top three would be Esther, Maggie Cheung, and Marianne Chan. My favorite role of hers to date would have be Lady Flower Fist. I would love to see her on-screen again, but yeah, for a good script, might be a while.
  • @dandan Yea, I can only recall two "scandals" about her. One is when she was caught head down on Him's laps in the car. She held a press conference a couple days later and the whole world was defending her innocent. Everyone's waterworks were running. That was more of a scandal than the actual scandal itself lol. The second is during SSSS series where a few news outlet made fun of her insanely high nose. That was very short lived though. The media has been very easy on her and she's well protected. One can also argue that she has a very boring life ("low key" if painting it in a nicer way) lol. I think it's the former though.
  • @jjwong I was thinking the same thing! I could see this easily getting twisted if it was another person. Albeit, Ron and Tavia's friendship is well known and pretty solid, and both are very close to their manager. I mean Tavia did have a couple negative news throughout her career, but overall she gets relatively less crap from the media than her peers, especially relationships-wise.
  • @janice Agree with everything you said here. Karena seems to have a better/decent personality, but there's honestly nothing special about her beside being known as Raymond's gf.
  • @bluk 'organisation' and 'favourite' aren't wrong. They're just the British/UK preferred variant spelling.
  • Not that doesn't already sound pretty bad, but it could've been so much worse, and for that I'm thankful. Wishing Andy a smooth and hopefully as swift as can be possible recovery!
  • I could barely recognize him until @nori mentioned The Snow is Red. I think he looks better now in those pics above than when he was younger. :P He was pretty bad in that series... Mimi Kung totally carried that drama. I love her as an actress and wished she filmed more.
  • Congratulations to the beautiful couple on a new little girl! May she be blessed with her parents' good looks, haha, and be healthy.
  • House of Spirits was so much better than Fists, and deserved more awards. The spinoff travel show seemed like a lot fun!
  • That is a beautiful family! Simon seems like such a nice and wonderful guy.
  • Babies' faces can change quite a bit as they grow during newborn to older infancy. Even just the ~2 months since Linda shared the first photos we've seen of Kelly there can be notable differences. Steven Ma met with Linda and baby Kelly too. I'm guessing Tavia covered up Kelly's face either because Linda asked her to, out of common courtesy just in case, or she followed in Steven's footsteps, who also covered Kelly's face in the pic he posted on weibo.
  • Tony has been one of my favorite actors since I was younger. He's always been on the short side, and I like how candid it's stated here. Nowadays, the height of celebrities posted online are like 85% false. I love his smile. It's still the same.
  • As the drama continues, my opinion is even more solidified that Roger deserves Best Actor this year. He's doing a marvelous job. My runner up would be Bosco, but the news of him leaving TVB automatically puts him out of the running...
  • I'm gonna miss him. He's a versatile actor, both appearance and talent-wise. He's definitely the strongest out of his batch (i.e. Raymond, Ron, Kenneth, etc). Hope good opportunities goes his way!
  • Sharon seems very friendly, and these photos are quite lovely. But she does strike me as having a bit of a narcissistic/vain streak. I've been tired of the comments/references to her figure/legs in the dramas she's been in. Honestly, her legs aren't really anything to be wowed about.
  • I can see why it took this long for him to film a Qing Dynasty drama, to be honest. His face doesn't fit the era. He looks really thin, makes him look older than normal.
  • TVB's going to do whatever it wants, but my personal picks Best Actor: Roger Kwok Best Actress: Maggie Shiu or Teresa Mo Male Character: Bobby Au Yeung or Vincent Wong Female Character: Joyce Tang Best Supporting Actor: Raymond Cho Best Supporting Actress: Joyce Tang or Akina Hong Improved Actor: Moon Lau or Ali Lee Improved Actress: Jonathan Cheung Onscreen Partnership: Wayne Lai, Edwin Siu, Raymond Cho, and Power Chan Best Series: House of Spirits For Lifetime Achievement, I hope veteran Bowie Wu gets it. Benjamin Yuen in Best Actor and Grace Chan in Best Actress category are both laughable. Ruco and Nancy will probably get something, since there's so much hype... If he doesn't get BA this year, Ruco probably won't get it next year since quite a bit of veterans are coming back in some already pre-hyped series.
  • @m0m0 Um, China did occupy and ruled over Vietnam. Albeit, northern parts of Vietnam and not the whole as it's now known, for over 1000 years. China gained some control again a few centuries after Vietnam was liberated. It was China that introduced Confucianism, Taoism, etc, and the Vietnamese vocabulary has a lot of Chinese influence. It's not until later that France colonized Vietnam, which is how the Vietnam written language got replaced from characters to romanized/latin alphabet.
  • @dandan well, thing is i don't think china ever colonized vietnam. france did, that's why some can speak french. china had great influences in korea and japan in the old days too but you don't see as a large group of chinese speaking people in those countries. even if they speak chinese, it's likely mandarin not cantonese.
  • Saw the first five episodes. Roger, for best actor, hands down, if TVB is to do it right. The role is meaty, and his acting is exceptional. Sorry Ruco, but Roger is in another league. Ruco has a high chance of getting best actor at the Astro Awards this weekend though, since Dead Wrong couldn't get nominated. Unless it goes to a veteran.
