• @kolo it seems like matthew ho and owen cheung have honestly been the only standouts from tvb's acting class since the raymond lam era (yea its been THAT bad). matthew's not great but certainly shows potential. and maybe i forgot, but i always thought post tan louis koo was great, pre tan louis koo was terrrible
  • @rainbow28 i compare him with tvb actors of present day not 30 years ago. all new tvb actors now have no charms.yes the 5 tigers is from a different level, tvb have always produced stars that is charismatic, lam fung and bosco is the last of them. but now the level is not that of yesterday.
  • @kolo I don't see anything in this Matthew Ho. And no, this guy does not have above average look. If you compare him to the siusangs from 30 years ago in the 1980's, the TVB 5 tigers can easily beat him by looks and charms. Talking about acting, technology, people's openness and acting knowledge have improved alot during these years but I don't see Matthew's acting better than actors from 3 decades before him.
  • why do tvb keeps promoting the wrong guy everytime. im still not seeing any good material coming from tvb acting class. although matthew looks above average but this guy lacks charisma and with his chicken voice he can never be a second louis ko. louis already has a deep manly voice when he start his first drama and draw your attention as a kelefe. matthew may become a good drama actor one day but he can never be a big star on the big movie screen like louis do.
  • @jayne then i would say to the conservative "fans" to grow up. it says more about the fans themselfs how narrow minded they are. as long as they are not french kissing then its ok.
  • i cant wait to see dicky in a tvb drama again,he is so good back then.but why the hell to pair him up with tony hung? its totally a missmatch. a chinese saying a flower sticking on a cows head. dicky is the level of stephen chow.
  • @stargirl why to try change someone's opinions and mindset? everyone has their own way of thinking, likes and dont likes. you cannt change a personality and shape it to your ideal character, thats selfish.this already say they are not compatible, and if tony is the one who pursue her then it is his own risk to pursue a girl thats not his cup of thea.
  • this is totally not my type of drama but i will watch it because of annie liu. the real goddess for the first time appearing in a tvb drama, and i hope more will come.
  • @kolo I am fine with Roger and Cindy since Roger is older. I think Faye and Nicholas are a bit odd since she is quite a bit older. I honestly do believe that love has no limits except for age and some other things like incest for example. For example, I would not be with a guy that is 18 years younger since that is very weird. I think it is more acceptable if the guy is older when it comes to big age gaps, but when it is the girl that is older even by a few years, it is just odd to me. I guess I am influenced by my late parents who are very traditional. It is also true that women age a lot faster than men which is biologically true.
  • @hetieshou what do you think about nicholas tse and faye wong? and roger kwok? more important how deep the love is,it say more than age.
  • @funnlim i dont agree. who knows he is ready or not? this guy is 27 and not 16. i think its a nice age for fatherhood.
  • @kolo Yes...agree with your statement. TVB need to recruit actors with talent & charisma...unlike Benjamin Yuen or Tony Hung for sure. In the meantime, TVB also need to provide training and opportunities for newcomers to gain experience by casting them in small roles before they are given meaty roles. The audience will be more willing to accept if new leading actors are able to show decent acting after receiving proper training, and gaining some experience in supporting roles.
  • @kolo To be fair, Benjamin Yuen has a few years of experience. He started in 2008 in minor roles before climbing to where he is now. Tony Hung on the hand is a traveling show host, and has little experience in acting. Although I think Tony has potential, TVB is definitely giving him big roles too early, Tony Hung has a LONG way to go.
  • tvb dont need just rookies they need idols actors with charisma and talent of a star. type like chow yun fat, tony leung and andy lau should be the benchmark in searching for the new generation. actors like tony hung and benjamin yuen is a joke if you compare them with the previous gen.
  • she looks a bit like myolie when she was young. especially when she smiles, too young to go.
  • @kolo Annie is ok except I do find her expressionless. I know who isn't right by description; Mandy. I know I'm gonna be bombarded with rotten eggs when I suggest a name but I will do it just for the sake of it. Christine Kuo. I find her sexy without being intimidating. Since she lost weight, she is also free, might as well. I mean she suffered, so she knows gloomy. She looks modern so she can do professional. She can be sexy. Problem is her acting but ... can try.
  • @funnlim do you know who's capable to play this role? if im the director then i would choose annie liu for this role.
  • @kolo so agree w/ you. i don't like mandy. not so sure why some people above are drawn to her. i find her to be somewhat annoying. i think she's an okay actress but really lacks the charisma. although i think benjamin is hot and that tvb should give him more opportunities, but i don't think he's realy for a lead yet. let's see what happens, if mandy does well, she may get more opportunities else, she's better where she is now
  • @kolo Seems to me - Mandy has no star power & is not that good an actress for this challenging role
  • promoting these actors to lead a drama means tvb losing more and more their starpower,i watched these actors as second and third line actors for many years now they cant attracts me to watch a drama even with a good script and good story i rather skip it. for me mandy wong is a good actor but she is not pretty and charismatic enough like tavia or myolie. for jason and benjamin they simply cant replace bosco or raymond lam.
