Daniel Wu: “I Am Not Leaving the Industry”

Daniel Wu (吳彥祖) has denied the reports claiming that he is quitting the entertainment industry, expressing that he loves performing too much to leave.

In June, Daniel announced that he would take an indefinite hiatus from the entertainment industry to mourn for the death of his mother, 77-year-old professor Diana Ting Wu. During this time, Daniel closed down his talent management company, Revolution TM Ltd., and also missed the promotions for his new movie Overheard 3 <竊聽風雲3>, which has grossed nearly 330 million RMB in the international box office, making it the trilogy’s highest-grossing film.

With the dissolution of his company, reports say that Daniel had plans to quit the industry. However, Daniel denied these claims in a recent post on his official Sina Weibo blog, stating that he never had thoughts of quitting his entertainment career.

“I want to herein thank everyone for their concerns about the matters that have happened to my family earlier. Everything has been settled. I also want to herein clarify the untrue media reports that were reported earlier. I am passionate about my performing career and I never thought about leaving this industry. I will continue to work hard. Thank you for everyone’s support!”
