Eddie Peng to Look Super Fit for Dante Lam’s New Film, “Breaking Wind”

Starring Eddie Peng (彭于晏), Ethan Ruan (阮經天), and Carlos Chan (陳家樂), Director Dante Lam’s (林超賢) new film Breaking Wind <破風> will begin filming this June. A collaboration with Emperor Motion Pictures, the inspirational production revolves around the lives of a group of professional cyclists who prepare for races. In order to perfect each role, Dante has ordered the men to endure a period of intense training to tone their muscles before shooting commences.

Also directed by Dante Lam, Eddie and Nick Cheung’s (張家輝) popular Unbeatable <激戰> proved to be the highest grossing Hong Kong film last year. Hoping to break the amazing record with Breaking Wind, Director Lam feels the need to oversee each aspect seriously. To ensure the actors receive suitable training, he invited Olympics bronze medalist of the cycle race, Sarah Lee <李慧詩>, to act as their mentor.

Part of the new film will be completed in Italy, where the famous cycle race Giro d’Italia takes place each year. With high expectations, Director Lam noted Eddie’s muscle tone is currently not up to par with the figure of a professional cyclist’s, and must lose more weight. After the great success from his last collaboration with the director, Eddie is excited to be working with him again and vowed to perform his best during the intense training.

“Ethan’s body shape is better off, but he still requires training as well,” Dante added. On the other hand, Carlos is also ready for the upcoming workouts and exclaimed, “I believe I’ll lose 10 to 15 pounds and tan a little. Going to go online and watch cycling competitions to get some experience.”

    1. ping0,
According to Eddie’s Weibo, he apparently ate too much good food after completing the Wong Fei Hung movie. His muscles may just need some training to define them more, as he looks trim in recent photos.

    2. One does not need to be in top shape in order to break wind.

  3. To prepare for this film, Eddie must have to load up on greasy junk food such as potato chips, beans and the likes.

Hope he can let some strong ones out for the audience.

  4. Haha what an unfortunate title choice. I hope they change it before the release (lol no pun intended).

    1. Panzer,
“Breaking Wind” is just a literal translation of its Chinese title until the official English title is out.

  5. Will the sequel to “Breaking Wind” be “Passing Gas”?

  6. HK people do come up with some unintentionally funny English titles, lol. They should just rename it Human Gas Bombs….Don’t Stand So Close Or You’ll Regret It.

    1. Their film titles are as funny and dopey as some of their English names

      1. Yup…like Rimsky, Champion, Titarians, Virus, Colon, Calorie, Hummer, Kinky.
