Kelly Chen Left Sons for New Film, “The Horse Thief”

Kelly Chen (陳慧琳) attended a banquet for Ascot Chang, a brand for bespoked tailored suits last week. Dressed in a gray pinstriped suit, Kelly appeared at the event looking chic. Gigi Lai’s (黎姿) husband Patrick Ma (馬廷強), Susanna Kwan (關菊英), and Susanna’s close friend Willy Chow (周偉利) also attended the evening banquet.

Kelly expressed that this was her first time wearing a tailor-made suit and joyfully exclaimed that she really liked the look. Asked if she would get a tailor-made suit for her 4-year-old son Chace, Kelly said, “Little kids grow really fast. It’s not a good deal.”

The Cantopop diva revealed that she has recently been busy with the filming of The Horse Thief <盜馬記>, costarring Tony Leung Ka Fai (梁家輝) and Ekin Cheng (鄭伊健). Earlier, she spent a month away from her sons to shoot the film in Prague and England. Did she miss her two sons, Chace and Riley?

“At first I really missed them, but halfway through filming, I felt okay. It’s like I reverted back to singlehood,” Kelly joked. “After shots, I would go shopping. It’s like living in a dream world.”

Asked if her husband Alex Lau (劉建浩) had complained about her long leave, she said, “No, but he did ask me to return home as soon as possible because he couldn’t stand it anymore!”
