Louis Koo Steals the Bride at the Altar in “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart 2”
After the popularity of Don’t Go Breaking My Heart <單身男女>, Louis Koo (古天樂), Daniel Wu (吳彥祖), and Gao Yuanyuan (高圓圓) return in Johnnie To‘s (杜琪峯) sequel. The movie also features Vic Chou (周渝民) and Miriam Yeung (楊千嬅).
Yuanyuan chose Daniel in the first installment, but her heart wavers when Louis crashes their wedding by climbing over a hedge to get to the altar in time.
Known for setting a high standard for his movies, Johnnie To personally arrived at the set early so he can discuss the different filming methods with screenwriter, Wai Ka Fai (韋家輝). Ensuring everything functioning properly, Johnnie even tested the props and sets. Before asking Louis to jump over the tall grassy hedge for the scene, Johnnie climbed it to test whether it was safe.
Johnnie also kept the ending a secret from the entire cast. Yuanyuan exclaimed, “The director has always been secretive so that it wouldn’t affect my performance. It was only [last minute] when I was told the ending. As the female lead, sometimes I think that it’s really hard to choose!” Upon hearing Yuanyuan’s frustration on choosing between the two male leads, Daniel immediately added, “It’s not that hard, choose me!”
Talking about his role as the perfect boyfriend in the movie, Daniel disclosed that he is far from perfect in real life. In addition, Daniel expressed that couples must take a lot into consideration before getting married. Unlike his character, Daniel will not let any uncertainty remain when getting married.

I thought so too. But then again, I would pick Daniel also 🙂
I would choose Daniel as a husband too. Louis’s character would be an interesting Lver but husband? Daniel’s character was subtly cute!

Spoiler from the 1st movie: Daniel designed & built a skyscraper for the girl while Louis the jerk last minute scrawl a proposal banner at an abandoned building. Not hard to choose.
Why is Louis Koo so old and super thin?
Is he following the path of Andy Lau. I much prefer actors to age like Aaron Kwok more than dont eat anything Andy Lau.
That’s prob because Aaron doesn’t smoke like the others, and takes care of his health.
Heard that Daniel only has a minor role in this sequence. So does that mean GYY is choosing a new guy in this sequence ?
The ending is literally spoiled here.
And yes, I’ve already seen the movie. Gao yuanyuan is once again left with the option of choosing Daniel Wu and Louis Koo.
