Priscilla Chan Kisses Jacky Cheung in Comeback Concert

After much anticipation, Cantopop sensation, Priscilla Chan (陳慧嫻) opened the first show to her Back to Priscilla concert. Reviving many memories from the 1980s, Priscilla spent the night singing all her classic numbers from her older albums.

Priscilla’s songs may be from her older albums, but her outfit that night was anything but old. Coming on stage to a full stadium of cheering fans, the blonde-haired Priscilla donned sparkly low cut dresses with revealing side slits. Dressed in her sexy outfits, Priscilla also daringly danced closely with her male backup dancers.

However, fans became ecstatic when Priscilla revealed her special guest of the night – Jacky Cheung (張學友). Praising Priscilla’s great figure and dance moves, Jacky welcomed her back into the music industry. The pair then wowed the crowd with Jacky’s “Light Touch To Your Face”  <輕撫你的臉>. And shocking everyone, Jacky and Priscilla shared a light kiss during their performance, heightening the show to the max.

Slight Wardrobe Malfunction

Before the concert started, the stadium was met with a lot of loud booing from impatient audience members who have been waiting for the show to start. Due to a slight wardrobe malfunction in which Priscilla’s zipper ripped, the singer was late to open the concert. Fortunately, the wait was not too long, and soon enough, the crowd was full of positive energy again when they saw Priscilla on the rising platform.

Among the viewers that night were Sugar Club’s (糖兄妹) Kandy Wong (糖妹), Lily Ho (何傲兒), 1980s actress Candy Man (文雪兒), as well as Priscilla’s father.

  1. I wasnt her fan, there’s only one song that i remembered. Did anyone of you read somewhere that Kelly Chen were very rude to Priscilla Chan?

    1. Hey, maybe it’s just me but I think most of her songs are really good, especially that intro song where she sang with Jacky…I think it was a drama about making tea or wine? I don’t quite remember. I watched it when I was in elementary school, it was awesome.

      1. the opening theme song is for the drama called 茶是故鄉濃 Plain Love II. the song sang by jacky and priscilla is called Get Close 接近.

  2. Ya the kiss look pretty awkward on Priscilla’s side. Unlike the kiss Remus shared with Joey Yung in the recent Grasshopper concert is much more natural 🙂

  3. Actually, the HK media blew “the kiss” way out of proportion. When you watch the video clip, it was just a quick 1 second thing – but still pretty sweet for us fans…LOL. Anyway, I was definitely looking forward to this concert, as I knew Jacky would be musical guest (given how close he and Priscilla are, plus the fact that he has been the guest at her previous concerts as well). Besides, I’ve always loved the chemistry between these two onstage and seeing them together again brought back fond memories of those “good old days” (80s/early 90s HK music industry). Too bad Michael Au (Jacky’s long-time record producer and Priscilla’s ex-boyfriend) couldn’t make it back until the last show on Saturday…it would have been awesome to see the 3 of them together again (and yes, I’m still waiting for the 3 of them to collaborate again some day….)

This article didn’t mention it, but during Priscilla’s last show, a few of her former Polygram colleagues/seniors– Paula Tsui, Alan Tam, Hacken Lee — came to support her….too bad they didn’t go onstage though (would have loved to see a mini Polygram reunion at her concert).

    1. Polygram was the best back in the days!

Priscilla is a great singer and I love a lot of her songs but sometimes it’s a little too sappy. She entered the music industry in a bad time, Anita was reigning for a decade +. lol.

      1. Yes! I agree with you. Polygram was The BEST.

    2. Does anyone know if this concer will be on DVD? And if she’s doing a world tour ? Would love to see her in the states

      1. tofu_rice,
There should be a DVD copy available as it is a major concert. You can check yesasia.com perhaps three months from now to see if copies are available.

    3. Yes, I really miss the 90s polygram days. Jacky and Priscills have always been really close friends so I do not see what the big deal is. As usual, the media over exaggerates.

  4. hi there

    1. Priscilla is one of those fantastic performers that can literally sing LIVE on stage. she is real good.
    2. honest, I had witnessed one lousy thing from Gillian chung.
    3. get out of there if you cannot even sing!

  5. i hardly follow her 80s debuting era in the music scene…the only song i remembered was the same song anita mui sing as well…thats the only song i remembered her compare to anita mui

  6. Loved all of her songs back in the 80/90s! Would have loved to be at her concert !

  7. Bet they did it for publicity for her concert because they knew it would sell papers. Jacky is so sweet, though he did look a bit awkward :p

  8. Priscilla Chan does have a great voice. I never listened to her songs until I did a line dancing ….. 飄雪. It was a good song with a good voice.
