Raymond Lam Loses $100,000 at His Concert

Raymond Lam’s (林峯) last Hong Kong concert before his career hiatus, A Time 4 You, completed its three-session Hong Kong Coliseum run last night.

Family and friends from all over the world came to witness Raymond’s colorful three-hour long concert. Raymond’s father attended all three shows. Raymond’s friends within the circle, such as Michael Miu (苗僑偉), Jaime Chik (戚美珍), Michael Tse (謝天華), Christine Kuo (苟芸慧), Rebecca Zhu (朱晨麗), and Eliza Sam(岑麗香) attended the concert. Raymond’s two rumored girlfriends, ex-rumored flame Michelle Ye (葉璇) and current rumored flame Karena Ng (吳千語), also made high profile appearances.

Raymond invited Taiwanese boy band, Lollipop F as the guest performers for his first concert. On the second day, Raymond invited fellow Music Plus labelmate, Mag Lam (林欣彤). Allegedly suffering from depression and an eating disorder in the past few months, Mag expressed that she was both “anxious and excited” to perform at Raymond’s concert.

On the last show, Raymond invited Kay Tse (謝安琪). After singing her duet with Raymond, Kay teased, “I am very nervous because this song is very romantic. I was afraid if ‘BB’ (her son) came or not. If he came, I will get really shy!”

Raymond then sweetly said, “But there are parents holding BB’s here today!” Kay responded, “They are all your BBs!”

Raymond, who thanked a “BB” in his acceptance speech for JSG’s Most Popular Male Singer two weeks ago, was accused for living in with rumored girlfriend Karena Ng, who allegedly was the BB whom Raymond thanked.

As the duration of the last concert went over the arranged time limit by the organizers, Raymond and his crew were fined $100,000 HKD for overtime.

  1. I read the headline I thought the concert made a loss! Sigh only overtime. I wonder why charge overtime? As if another concert is scheduled next? As if fans won’t have transport to go home? Such killjoy.

    1. 100k is nothing for him though. But yeah, it does seem unreasonable if there weren’t any other scheduled concerts/events after his concert and they still charged them.

      1. To me…I feel that he really love his fans…don’t mind to loss money (so just too earn as much) but treasure more time with his fans…very professional…no wonderful…all his fans love him so much…Raymond…LOVE you and Support you on whatever area (music/movie/Mainland…) you want to focus on….you are the BEST

      2. While 100k may mean am arm and a leg to many,100k is probably equivalent to a piece of his shirt sleeve lol. No harm done there.

      3. Raymond Lam has goodness, kindness and generous heart. He really love all his family n siblings, friends, fans and haters. Fung say, love you, love you, love you, love you all.
        GOD Bless Fung forever

    2. They charge overtime because the stadium has to pay for all their employees, electricity etc… for the extra time Raymond used.

It’s the same if you rent a dance hall and go over the hours you’ve contracted.

    3. yeah the title is misleading. it should say “Raymond is fined” instead of “Raymond loses”

    4. I also thought the concert made a loss too. I wonder how long he went overtime for them to charge so much?? That is not much to him and I guess he wanted to spend as much as time with everyone as possible… That is understandable for the final night though. If it were me, I would think it is worth it.

  2. The stadium is required to pay the workers to take down the stage. Its better to have Raymond pay out of his pockets than the stadium for his overtime.

  3. I know it seems like a bad rule….same last time was Aaron Kwok…The show fr 8:15 -11:15 and clean up in Half an Hour or Less = it a deal !!

  4. LF sang until 11:55 pm. I guess by the time the band and crew departed, it would have passed the midnight hour. LF already said during his encore that he doesn’t care to go over time. The fine should be paid by EEG or from the production budget.
He really wanted to please everyone during the second encore when he said there were no more songs to sing (he sang all the songs that were rehearsed).  LF was so cute as he sat on the floor “over” the band leader Terry to discuss the dilemma and then stood up to sing 心呼吸 with a paper given by Terry. My favorite part each night was when he asked us to sing 幼稚完 for him! He closed his eyes with his fist over his heart to savor those moments, and bowing frequently. My heart just melted.
No matter what, it was three memorable nights of sheer joy and excitement! LF gave his ALL … the best in songs, dancing, even took photos with the audience and gave it to them immediately! His heartfelt thank yous to his parents and family and his Honeys was really touching. Can’t wait for the DVD! LF Love FUNG!!!!!!

    1. you are so luck to have three memorable nights with Fung and his honey…i can image it would be so touching…the concert in US is a lot different…I attend Hacken’s concert in US…i guess it is more quiet in here because the security don’t allow…and the ticket price is higher here…anyway…can’t wait for the DVD too

      1. OF course a concert is always better when you are in your home base…

  5. To be honest he doesn’t have tat much good songs only good looks. Losing money is not surprised because HK music industry is ALREADY DEAD

    1. Did you read the article? Your comment is out of wack..

      1. I kinda doubt s/he read any part in the article, maybe just the title. Lolz.

  6. Sigh 🙁
I wish he hosted a concert here in Vancouver.
And I think spending the time with your fans is more important than getting fined 100,000 HKD for going “overtime”! 😀

    1. He did have one in Canada not that long ago, but it was not in Vancouver..

  7. Concert was fabulous! Only those who attended wld be able to understand what I mean. He was gorgeous, sexy & in top form!!!! What a pity he’s gonna take a break frm concerts in the nxt few yrs…he’s a gem in this industry.

      1. not to be disrespectful, but
it doesnt matter what he looks like, it’s about what he is like as a person.

he has a heart, he cares about his family and about the people he is presenting his music to, in a way which isnt disrespectful, but cares responceably.

that means so much more then any cute looks he can give. i can go outside right now and see good looking guys somewhere in my city. but no heart, no soul and no dedication or loyality to being the best them they can be , to protecting there family and the one they love, to doing what is right. also there disrespectful and use people left and right. i dont want to hear about someone looks ever again. seeing someone who works hard being these best in a respectful way, with integrity, thats what i want to hear about! thats what i want my life to be about!
also, just because i am his fan, doesnt mean i have to swoon over his looks. i want to be the best fan i can be, and that means respecting the artists, encourageing them to keep doing these best as a preformer and as a person (as i must aswell), and not trying to seperate them from the one they love (i have seen some people in forums trying to throw mud or bad mouth whatever person he is aquainted with. and some of you sounding like if you could you would throw yourself at him. that is not being a responceable fan!)

to me, a responceable fan is someone who likes someones work and maybe if they like things about there personality instead of wanting to claim them, they make some of the things they like about that person apart of there own behavor. like there dedication, or other things you feel happy about when you think of the artists. personaly, i like his ability to care and be there for his family,to put everything he has into what he does … so i’d like to make that apart of what i do with my life. i hope more artists show good examples that people can learn from, and that fans become more responceable in how they behave as fans

      2. After i just left that comment, i forgot to mention (after looking at what i said) that though i am a fan of lf, i dont agree with some of the songs that lf sings.i dont like “baby lady” “lets get wet”…i wish those songs could have been left behind. they shouldnt make entertainers sing love songs, or songs with suggestive themes. they are too talented for songs like these :(. there, i’ve said it. i feel better now. i dont like just saying i like something completely when i think there are places where things could be even better. which is why i dont like alot of the music of today. i really hope artists put ut more mindful music ,i want to hear more integirty in songs, things that will help me and others to become out best!!

  8. It’s a shame Raymond had to pay the rather substantial amount of fine. He did not incur the loss as stated in the report but it looks like he’s not bothered by it at all.

  9. Ha! ha! 100k.. Raymond’s beans .. He love his fans so much ..Mah
Wish Raymond.. all the best ..

  10. Can we get a video of this concert- for those of us who is not from HKG?

    2. I heard that it will be out in a few months so you just have to wait. I hope they will have a lot of the good parts in there and the parts with Lollipop F too.

  11. i tot he making loses. Then i tot he has to pay too much for the guess appearance. haha. Misleading title and stupid. hehe.

    1. you can order by http://www.yesasia.com
it is not out yet…I would check the website after a month or two?! I am in USA…i will order it too…almost all the time is free shipping…i ordered here all the time…it is save to order…

    2. There will be and I heard that it will be out before Easter…

  12. Actually, you guys don’t have to be too amazed that he’s willing to go overtime for his fans and lose money.
#1: That amount of money is nothing to him; he didn’t “lose” money, he just “earned less”
#2: Many celebrities who performed at the Coliseum had gone overtime before, not only the generous LF who loves his fans

    1. The point is that he did sing over the allotted time given to him because he loves his fans dearly and wanted to spend more time with them. He could have easily ended the concert according to schedule but he chose not to. All the best to LF and I hope he can return to the HK Coliseum one day to perform to all his fans once again and better yet, to come to Toronto to perform for all his Canadian fans!

    2. ok,he earned less but he had work very much to earn it.It’s totally worth.
he love his fans, his honeys so he did have 2 encores that why he was overtime.
don’t try to negetive his love!

      1. agree…his love his fans and honey…his honey love and support him…I am happy to be one of his fans 🙂

    3. Normally, the last nite will have 2 encores but in the 2nd encore, the singer only sings 2 more songs and end the show at 11h30. But he has 25 mins more up to 11h55 and this is why he is fined. He isn’t fined for 2nd encore but for 25 mins more than others in the 2nd encore.

  13. omg that’s such ugly hair. what’s with old man yellow hair side part! Even my grandpa’s hair is better than that! that’s such a bad picture. not only for an ugly haircut, but also bad taste in clothes… what’s with the sleeveless collared shirt with bow tie?!?!?!? SO GEY!!!!!!! that is not hot raymond….

  14. Lawlz. No need to flame me here, but this is the truth – the writing on this site is getting more lame. I’m not a writer myself, and have no intention on proving my worth, but all these articles are aimed at getting “clicks” because of tabloid headlines. Keep up the work, Addy, keep it up.
