S.H.E Reunites in Two Concerts after Three-Year Separation

Taiwanese girl group S.H.E recently held two concerts in Taipei, marking the first time that Selina Ren (任家萱), Ella Chen (陳嘉樺), and Hebe Tien (田馥甄) have graced the stage together after Selina was severely burned in an explosion accident in October 2010.

Despite their prolonged separation, S.H.E still attracted a total of more than 22,000 fans, and there was even a great deal of ticket scalpers, who resold 1,800 TWD concert tickets at prices as high as 6,500 TWD. Due to Selina’s burn injury, her limbs cannot eliminate sweat, so two large fans had to be placed on stage to prevent her from getting too hot. However, these outrageous prices and minor changes were not enough to prevent fans from reconnecting with the S.H.E they had come to know and love.

True to form, Ella constantly cracked jokes while on stage, and also took the opportunity to thank her husband, with whom she tied the knot in May 2012, for his constant support. Hebe praised Selina for using her emotions to sing well, jokingly adding, “We might as well just give her a Golden Melody Award straight away.”

During the celebration feast held after the two concerts, Selina tearfully shared that, following the accident, she felt that life was too difficult and began to eat indulgently. Luckily, Ella and Hebe were by her side to encourage her, and even used a pair of pearl earrings to entice her to lose weight. She later decided to refrain from eating nighttime snacks, which helped her regain her self-confidence and return to the stage.

At the feast, Selina also thanked the nurse who had looked after her during her recovery period. “She is like my second mother,” said Selina, causing the nurse to begin crying as well.

  1. Huge fan of theirs, wished their world tour concert would include Canada.

    Support always <3

  2. They were separated three years ago? I thought that Selina’s injury would not affect the group, and that she would come back after she would have recovered?

    1. The title/article is kind of misleading in the “separation” part. They never really separated as a group, but just temporarily stopped working in the form of S.H.E due to Selina’s injury, then Hebe going solo and two of the girls getting married.
