Aaron Kwok: “It’s Time to Start a Family”

At 51 years old, Cantopop icon Aaron Kwok (郭富城) has finally decided that it is time for him to settle down.

The HKFA-winning actor and singer recently did an interview with TVB’s StarTalk, where he told host Edmond Hui (許文軒) about his big plans for 2017. After winning his first-ever Best Actor trophies at the Hong Kong Film Awards and Taiwan’s Golden Horse Awards last year, Aaron said his life’s mission is near complete.

“I’ve gotten my career’s recognition after winning the Golden Horse and the HKFA. I am thankful! And I’ve slowly come to realize that time will not wait for you. I am 51 years old. I think it’s about time I plan and start a family with kids. This is my wish and goal.”

“I Have Failed My Mother”

Aaron, who is dating 28-year-old model Moka Fang (方媛), added, “My mother is getting older. She’s already over 80 years old. She didn’t rush me to get married, but of course I know she wants me too. In terms of filial piety, I have failed. I’ve placed too much of my time in my career. Now, I’m at a steady place, and I also believe that in the future, there will be good news for everyone. I hope and look forward to everyone’s blessings.”

Aside marriage, what other life goals do Aaron have in mind? The actor said, “Directing is a huge challenge, and I definitely want to try it out. I will also continue acting. I’ve filmed movies for so many years, and I want to share my thoughts with everyone through filmmaking. As a director, you have to be clear on how you want the movie to be like, as well as know each and every character. Being a director is much harder than being an actor.”

  1. Aiyo feel bad for Lynn. Waited around fruitlessly for so many years. Once she had enough, she left. Once she left, the next girl he ended up dating, he decides to marry. This is why being the party that has to dump the previous party due to their inadequacies sucks. Like dude, could you not have gotten your $hit together before she decided to dump you?

    1. @coralie I don’t feel bad for her. As i think her current hubby is a better choice than Aaron. Ken Kwok seem like someone who will cherish her more and honestly all the girls for Aaron are just smoke screen. But yes, it’s time he have some kids.

      1. @happybi i know, in the greater scheme of things, she ended up with a better hubby. but still, it’s the principle of things. like I feel it’s a big waste of time for her.

      2. @happybi @coralie

Not standing up for either parties But i think it was more or less Lynn had to be a lesson for Aaron. He probably took her for granted and that’s why he probably didnt care too much about tying the knot for her. Maybe when she finally left him, he realized he messed up so now he’s trying to not do the same thing. Idk, not a fan of either Lynn or Aaron but best of luck in each other’s perspective love lives.

  2. Clearly at the time he was with Lynn Hung he wasnt ready to settle down and he didnt publicly acknowledge her as is girlfriend. That made it really hard for Lynn. Feel so sorry for her. Plus she is married now and has found someone that loves and cherish her!

  3. i am glad that he’s finally willing to settle down. it’s embarrassing that his age and her parents are close enough that her mom might have had a crush on him before.

  4. For a guy, timing is very important, sometimes more so than the person who he is involved with. Moka is lucky or unlucky that her timing with Aaron is right.

    1. @afan202 Agree that timing is crucial when it comes to relationship. However, it’s not just for a guy. Women are too sensitive to the right timing. Moka might not want to start a family for all we know. (Pls spare me the, ofc she’s ready since a baby will be her lifetime meal ticket. I know there’s validity to that claim; I just simply don’t care either way. Only commented as an example or generalization if you well.)
