Benny Chan (陳浩民) and Joe Ma’s (馬德鐘) touching Rose Chan (陳嘉桓) inappropriately in Hengdian, China evolved into scandal shocking the entire Hong Kong! Yesterday, Benny and his wife, Lisa, returned to Hong Kong to await the impending birth of their first child. Due to the scandalous air, Benny and Lisa had to proceed carefully and did not step outside of their apartment in Hong Kong. Benny decided unwaveringly to appear with his wife to apologize before Rose Chan and admit his wrongdoings, hoping that his sincerity will salvage his image.
Scolded by the entire city of Hong Kong, Benny has not made an official appearance yet. Last night, a large crowd of reporters gathered outside Benny’s residence. The reporter received Benny’s “press conference invitation” last night, in which Benny’s choice in words referenced his regret and indicated that he was at home repeatedly contemplating his wrongdoings, which hurt Rose Chan immensely. Benny indicated that upon learning his lesson, he sincerely regretted his actions.
Benny’s Wife Forgives Him
About to give birth to their first child, Benny’s wife, Lisa, loved him deeply and posted a photo of her pregnant state online. Lisa posted a well known quote from Japanese author, Haruki Murakami, “It does not matter what the entire world thinks; I believe that my feelings are right….If you like something, you will be able to persevere. If you do not like it, then it will not last no matter what the circumstances are.” Lisa signed off the message with, “Love you @Benny.” It was apparent that Lisa had already forgiven Benny’s wrongdoings. Afterwards, Lisa reposted a photo of Jessica Hsuan’s (宣萱) dogs, commenting that they were cute. Lisa appeared to be in a good mood.

A sincere apology will be done face-to-face, one-on-one, and between Benny and Rose. Benny’s camp is really hamming for sympathy with the inclusion of his parents and pregnant wife (restated over and over).
Since Benny is bringing his wife, Rose should bring her parents too, so Benny can apologize to them. Hey…if you;re going to drag an entourage into the mix, then there should be equal numbers on both sides.
But that’s just my opinion.

When a male celebrity cheats and it is publicly exposed, people are usually quick to throw darts at him for violating the sanctity of marriage. Given Benny’s career built upon family-style televisions dramas (formerly at TVB and now in mainland), his image needs to be somewhat family-friendly. It’s been two days of public outrage and criticism and we’re likely ready to hear his apology because frankly, who wants to criticize forever?
If the wife can forgive the cheating husband, other people will let the news fade a bit. Benny has his wife and little baby helping him. In another week or so, we will see Benny showing off photos of his baby. The “good father” image may help people put behind the cheating husband and groper tags quickly. A cute baby softens everyone’s hearts…. A new family deserves a second chance.
In this respect, Benny’s misconduct may have been more severe, but he appears to have more supportive wife vouching for him instead of Joe Ma.

I can tell you have a strong sense of justice. Rose’s situation can happen to any woman; the common occurrence of it really strikes a chord. Many women have probably experienced unwanted physical attention and hopefully they can extricate themselves before it goes too far.

Did you know about the stupid scene created at a press conference by famed singaporean director Jack Neo? He cheated on his wife; he offered film roles to young new actresses and one rejected her and reported him. I can’t remember. Anyway he dragged his wife to that press conference and the poor wife, ready to forgive him collapsed emotionally and he cried and held her and stuff. That was dramatic. That is dragging the wife.

I am all about forgiving wrongdoers and all but Jack Neo’s press conference was a bit too much.
It ran uncannily like one of his over the top drama skits.
Jack was crying and all that, and then his wife was pushed into the limelight – she was sobbing and she whispered in a faint voice that she had forgiven her husband and she pleaded with everyone to give them some space. Then she got more agitated, sobbed loudly and semi-fainted, upon which Jack and other helpers descended upon her and half carried, half dragged her body out.
Meanwhile the camera flashes were going off like crazy and the reporters had a field day. To make things more dramatic, one of Jack’s lackeys, a supporting actor, whom acted gangster roles, started waving his hands wildly in a protective fashion over his boss and ma’am, and shouting at the reporters loudly “Stop filming! Stop filming!”
Kudos to Jack for making an entertaining spectacle out of his apology press conference.

Charmaine had an interview with Stephen Chan in the past, she told him when she graduated from HS and went overseas for college, she had a taiwanese boyfriend and they lived together and even went to Taiwan with him for a while after graduation. But then she went back to HK after they broke up. Right there, you known she was quite lose during her early days. The only thing i don’t get is that she looks like a man in a woman’s body and still attract so many perverts like Benny. This issue should have been a small mole hill but has now turned into a mountain. Rose Chan is putting on a show to the public. The entertainment industry is full of sleazy men, who loves nothing better then deflower and hassle pretty girls if they are silly to let these men do it too them. I find it ironic how the public is in an uproar over two stupid non-famous actors feeling up another non-famous actress when other female celebrities (not all but some) would be more the willing to bed sleazy men in order to get their foot in the door or get promoted to do films etc. This kind of stuff probably happens behind closed door and no-one spills the bean. Happens in Hollywood, happens in Bollywood and I am sure it happens in the HK entertainment industry.
