Ada Choi’s Mother Continues to Gamble Amidst Grandmother’s Death thumbnail

Ada Choi’s (蔡少芬) maternal grandmother recently passed away. While Ada was at the mortuary identifying the body of her grandmother, Ada’s mother was discovered to be gambling away at a casinos in Macau. It appeared that Ada’s mother did not prioritize the funeral arrangements in the passing of her own 90-year-old mother, leaving Ada and the rest of the family in handling the funeral.

Asked to confirm whether Ada’s mother had in fact continued to gamble despite her own mother’s recent death, Ada’s manager noted that is was inappropriate to comment upon the family affairs of artists.

So many poeple are passing away recently? Is the world really coming to an end soon??? Anyways, may her grandmother rest in peace. I actually am not that shocked since her mother has a history of being an addictive gambler and that is an addiction that is hard to cure. We all remember back then when Ada had to sever all ties with her mother because she just could not keep on paying her mother’s debts like that… I feel bad for her but what can she do since that is her mother…

In Chicken Little, something fell out of sky onto Chicken Little’s head, and he proclaims the sky is falling.

Who are the “many” people who died recently for you to conclude that it outpaces deaths in previous years and that an apocalypse is coming?

        • HeTieShou says:

It is just people that I know personally and people that my family knows so I just feel sad so I said that, that’s all…. Just disregard it…

    2. Grace says:

Is this something that reporters just made up?
These days cant trust anything they report, especially those very sensational stuff that paints everyone in a bad light!!

    3. Funn Lim says:

Some people will never ever ever change.

    4. sandcherry says:

Feel sorry for Ada for having such a gambling mother.

    5. lingling says:

and this is why tabloids = trashloids. The woman has a death in a family and they want her to comment on her mother’s addiction.

    6. Vivien says:

      damn poor Ada

    7. elin says:

      pity ada

    8. HeTieShou says:

Gambling is a VERY hard addiction to cure if you can cure it at all…Therefore, it is best to not get addicted to it at all.

    9. effa says:

      wow too soon.

    10. thewong says:

Maybe she uses gambling as a coping mechanism for grief?

      • Funn Lim says:

And she has yet to learn her lesson. Her daughter “sold” her body to pay her gambling debts. The daughter disowned her publicly. And now has reconciled and she is still gambling. There are many ways to cope with grief. Why choose the one you’re addicted to and which caused so much trouble?

      • HeTieShou says:

Gambling is definately the wrong way to cope with anything, especially grief…

    11. sandcherry says:

There are many ways to cope with grief. I don’t gambling is a good way to cope with grief. Why choose the one you’re addicted to and which caused so much trouble?

    12. Nellymolly says:

I feel sorry for Aida. Pathetic case. If her mum is so called “Buddhist ” then that woman gives a very wrong impression of her faith. Because Buddhist teachings are absolutely against gambling, etc. Aida is a converted Christian. I can perfectly understand that seeing her mum’s behavior…! However it does not matter what her faith is; so long she has a faith & find comfort from it. And that is all that matters.

I wish Aida well & be strong.
