Alastair Lam Denies Bernice Liu Is His Girlfriend

The paparazzi recently published photos of Bernice Liu Bik Yee visiting wealthy entrepreneur, Alastair Lam’s apartment in the middle of the night and riding in his Lamborghini sports car. Rumors quickly spread that Bernice was dating the wealthy Alastair Lam behind Moses Chan Ho’s back.

When the press contacted Alastair Lam and mentioned that Moses Chan may be feeling jealous, Alastair said that he did not know Moses and could not comment. When the press mentioned that Moses had “double losses” recently, Alastair asked what was meant by “double losses?” Upon clarification, Alastair asked, “Is Moses’ love relationship over? I am only friends with Bernice. You guys made a mistake! I am not her only male friend!”

Did Bernice and Alastair admire each other? “Please do not be so sensitive! We are friends. Please do not say we are dating each other; this will affect other people! Did you investigate this matter thoroughly?”

Asked whether Alastair had previously dated Marie Zhuge and Lo Tien Yee, he said that he did not want to respond to his personal matters. Asked whether Alastair will continue to remain in touch with Bernice, he said, “Maybe yes, maybe no.”

Excerpt from Orientaldaily

Jayne: This matter is getting more and more interesting. We seem to get a different answer from Bernice, Alastair, and Moses, shedding more light on their relationship status!

– Bernice seems to admire Alastair Lam’s talent. Although she said that she was friends with him, she said that she was uncertain what would happen in the future. She also said that her father has met Alastair, thus hinting that they were more than friends. She also referred to Moses as her colleague only, implying that their former relationship was over.

– Moses’ immediate response about Bernice’s photos was acceptance that she had moved on and met another man. He resigned to the fact that he believed in love’s destiny and would be at peace as long as Bernice was safe. Moses’ answer indicated that he has not been in close communication with Bernice for awhile. It also indicated that he didn’t have a positive outlook on his own chances with Bernice anymore.

– Alastair Lam clarified that he was not Bernice’s boyfriend and that she has other male friends.

My conclusion: although Moses and Bernice’s relationship may have “ended,” she and Alastair are not dating. This may or may not increase the chances of Moses and Bernice getting back together. Interesting how this will play out…. Moses should be more aggressive of course. If he cares, he needs to win her back!

  1. I’m sorry but I think they are. Why he is denying may be due to familial issues. The relationship may be in its early stage.

  2. I believe they are not dating yet. Maybe got some interest but not started yet?

I believe they are still in only friends level. Maybe they are planning to do some business together? Alastair Lam did start a candy business with actor-cum-singer Jaycee Chan. Haha, maybe they want to start a fushion restuarant. Bernice mentioned her dad has a restuarant selling fushion food when she participated in a food game show. Don’t know if it’s back in US or here.

  3. Are we even accurately 100% certain Moses and Bernice are together in the first place, tabloid reports and answers from the stars themselves notwithstanding.

In the past, there are cases where TVB purposefully paired stars together and ‘asked’ them to act and answer as if they were dating to increase their popularity in the limelight.

  4. I always thought it was presumptuous to believe they were already dating. At most, they are in the early stages. Also, there’s a difference between Bernice having broken up with Moses but he’s still hopeful that they might reunite and Bernice not even breaking up with him first and moved on. I have never understood from either Moses or Bernice’s statements that the latter happened! IF Bernice has broken up with Moses, then she is free to date whoever she wants – rich or poor!

  5. According to Orientaldaily, Alastair is Richard Li’s younger cousin (表弟)! Richard Li is Li Ka Shing’s son. No wonder Alastair drives a Lamborghini and has money for all those business ventures.

Stay tuned for upcoming post for more details. I think Funn’s theory may be right after all!

    1. in my opinion, the actress should think twice or would loss her career over something which poor girls dream for and gain nothing, and also might even loss more!!??

  6. The way it goes the Li family and their extended family will “conquer” HK in that sense!

But maybe the money comes from his own father? And like everyone says, he is a capable businessman. Sometimes you just need some help.

Jayne, I have a feeling I am right.

  7. Being a 表弟 doesn’t mean he can get a dip on the Li family’s fortune and take money from there whenever he likes to start his businesses. Being related to the riches family in HK doesn’t mean his family is equally rich either (but, of course, we know his family is also rich). Being an entrepreneur and an owner of some many business, it can easily buy a Lamborghini with his own money.

Kevin Cheng is the 表哥 of Vinci Wong, you don’t see him being super rich. Neither is Kevin’s family rich.

  8. @ Kidd

Being closely knitted to a wealthy family increases networking and networking is a vital key to success.

In life, knowing the right people will get you very far. With all those potential family gatherings, the opportunities are all there. Mr. Alastair Lam is more likely to be successful due to such exposures.

  9. For some reasons, I always had a feeling that Bernice loves Moses more than he loves her. I think they were close friends but not lovers. The reasons Moses’s never been drawn a line clearly between Bernice and him because he must be aware of her feeling and respects her. I thought he was gay as rumors, but then spotted that out of the actresses he had been working with, he seemed very fond of Gigi Lai- dated back from their Shanghai trip. That feeling of mine grew and grew when I saw them in promotion clips, be it in Honkong or China. I was surprised that nobody mentioned them together, maybe people (including me) see them as different kind of people?

  10. Kevin Cheng and Vinci Wong is related? They don’t alike in any way.

  11. @ pandamao

What you said is true. I believe knowing the right people and having good networking helps him a lot. But, Jayne was not refering to networking when she talked about Alastair’s connection with the Li’s family. She wrote

‘No wonder Alastair drives a Lamborghini and has money for all those business ventures.’

I interprete this as him getting money from Li’s family to buy his car and start his business.

  12. Isn’t that part of networking, to get investment? And where best to start than within one own’s family?

  13. Ok lah. Alastair’s success is all due to his papa and uncle. Nothing is to his own credit. It’s all papa’s and uncle’s money.

Whenever he want to start a business, he just ask money from papa and Uncle Li.

  14. Kidd, you must admit even with all the ambition in the world, even Bill Gates had to start with investment and taking money from family can also be an investment. And outsiders wouldn’t invest in him if he was a nobody. His name, his connection paved the way. of course the rest is up to him but I am sure first step is by help and when he is in trouble, no bank would help unless he has a collateral either his own or his name. Malaysia is full of this like datuks and datuks sons. He is of no exception probably except he did do well and create his own empire. It is not wrong to start with some help.

  15. @ Funn

I didn’t say he never got any help. I agree that he got a head start with his family background. Even the business training he acquired from being born in a rich business family already gave him a head start. I also don’t deny that his starting capital most probably came from his family and him having connections helps in his business.

I’m just annoyed that people seem to refuse to give him credit for his own capability to maintain these businesses and build it into an empire. Money and good connections are not enough if you don’t have a good business sense.

Maybe I overeacted. But I find comments like ‘No wonder Alastair drives a Lamborghini and has money for all those business ventures’ totally discrediting his own capabability. I believe that with his successes in so many business, he will have a good enough resume and not need to always go to uncle Li for money to start his business.

Also, even if he gets money, I think he would more likely get from his own family instead uncle Li. Being related to rich family doesn’t mean one will be equally rich and can share their money or that they will just invest in your business without you giving a good proposal and convincing them that the business will work.

  16. @ Kidd

I completely agree with you. And seeing these comments really infuriates me. I’m studying a BSc in business myself, but according to these people here, I shouldn’t even bother. My parents aren’t super rich or famous, so I guess nobody will ever recognise my abilities or invest in my ideas! Well, then why do we even need an educational system? It’s not like it can be used for anything unless you have connections who can shell out the start capital for you!

He was born into a wealthy family, so of course, he has a head-start. But so what? Without the skills, he would soon run out of money anyway. (And from what I’ve read about Mr. Li, he’s not the kind to spend frivolous money!)

  17. @Bornninhk, Vincy Wong is an actor. He takes supporting roles in TVB series. In Dance of Passion, he played Bowie Lam’s younger brother.

  18. What’s his name in Chinese? Unfortunately I didn’t fellow DANCE OF PASSION that much.

  19. Vincy Wong 王賢誌

Felt neglected by TVB, who at that time gave all opportunities to Amigo Chui, Vincy left TVB for ATV….

There’s also rumours that he is gay (press caught pictures of him with another man)
