Bernice Liu Stars as Villain in “Lost in the Pacific”

Bernice Liu (廖碧兒) revealed that she has just completed over two months of filming in Malaysia for the 3D sci-fi action adventure film Lost in the Pacific, which stars American actor Brandon Routh and Chinese actress Kitty Zhang (張雨綺).

Bernice portrays a villain in the action-packed film, which centers around a group of passengers stranded on a remote island after a plane disaster. Bernice has many fight scenes, most of which involved gun combat. “This is my first time using real guns. Throughout the film, I use three submachine guns. We have professional trainers with us on set at all times, and I’ve been training with them since my first week.” Though the guns were hard and heavy to use, Bernice said it was a thrilling experience.

“I heard about the things that can happen while filming gun scenes, and that got me worried,” said Bernice. “I had to shoot the guns while I’m standing inside a moving car. The first few minutes were alright, but my arms grew tired after about 10 minutes. Imagine having to endure it for three hours.”

Lost in the Pacific has entered post-production and is scheduled for release later this year. The first teaser trailer will be shown at the Cannes Film Festival.

This week, Bernice will be going to Singapore to film a drama for three months. In regards to the news that American actor Johnny Depp had attempted to smuggle two of his pet dogs to Australia, Bernice said she kept butterflies in her Malaysia hotel instead.

“The owner of a butterfly garden gave me some pupae, and two of them became butterflies. I named one Peri and the other Sky, but in the end I freed them.”
