Bobby Au Yeung, Vincent Wong Become Good Friends After “With or Without You”

After collaborating together in With or Without You <東坡家事>, Bobby Auyeung (歐陽震華) and Vincent Wong (王浩信) became fast friends. From talking about their first impressions of each other to chatting about the TV King award, the two men exchanged easy jokes together.

Comparing Bobby to a vintage Ferrari sports scar, Vincent said the veteran was quick-witted, especially when it came to memorizing ancient poetry.

Bobby praised Vincent’s handsome looks and made jokes about his own appearance. Bobby laughed, “It would be a shame if he [Vincent] didn’t sing and dance. From afar, he actually resembles Aaron Kwok (郭富城).

“When I debuted at 20, no one watched me on television and everything I did was useless. The training class at that time was too competitive and was filled with people with a lot of potential. Ahead of me was Andy Lau (劉德華), and I was in the same year as Tony Leung (梁朝偉), Stephen Chow (周星馳) and Francis Ng (吳鎮宇). After me came Sean Lau (劉青雲), and Michael Tao (陶大宇). I couldn’t even compare to others in the class because there were so many handsome actors. People accept me now but it was all about the handsome, good boys back then. I was only suitable to play a thief, corpse, or rapist. But now, you can’t judge someone by him looks and typecast him to play a certain character. It’s all about the heart and your experience.  Now, the more handsome you are, the scarier it is!”

Bobby vs. Vincent For TV King

Although Vincent has been with TVB for seven years, he only had lead roles this past year. Supporting TVB’s decision to heavily promote Vincent, Bobby said he would have to avoid Vincent during this year’s TV King competition.

Upon hearing this, a flummoxed Vincent exclaimed, “Don’t joke around with me! Being nominated alongside Bobby would be an honor, especially since I’ve only been in the industry for such a short period of time. Good thing I’ve already won the Most Improved Male Artiste award. If I’m nominated for Best Actor along with Bobby, Anthony Wong (黃秋生), and Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), then it would be very exciting.”

Becoming quick friends after working with each other on With or Without You, Vincent said he would love to film a sequel with the same cast members.

    1. @freedalas I agree. I couldn’t find a point to this whole series either lol. I used to think Vincent has potential. But now he’s slowly but surely getting on my nerve. His comedy acting is really forced and unnatural. He doesn’t have that “comedic face.” He’ll fare better in more serious roles IMO.

  2. So little love for one of the best series this year? Every episode something to chuckle. Yes it has no direction or a story but it is HK’s version of Seinfeld.

My first choice to watch and followed by Lord Of Shanghai which is getting very good despite certain flaws. Anthony Wong is subtle and Wayne is loud and Kent Tong was the man in tonight’s episode.

  3. Ahahaha, the mutual kissing of each other’s arse again, yup, it’s THAT time of the year again. Don’t like Vincent in comedies, his acting is too exaggerated. He’s better playing some rich spoilt brat who’s slapped silly by his parents.
