Bosco Wong Attributes Success to Confidence

Bosco Wong (黃宗澤) may be as ambitious as his on-screen counterpart in The Ultimate Addiction <點金勝手>, but instead of ruthlessness, the 33-year-old chooses to rely on hard work and perseverance to realize his long-life dreams. Although he can relate to Cheuk Yuk’s financial ambitions, Bosco feels that his character’s arrogance would not carry him far in life. “As actors, we must be somewhat confident, but we cannot be selfish or arrogant or we would not have any friends.”

Despite a successful entertainment career and a steady income stream, Bosco continues to pursue additional money-making opportunities with the hopes of achieving long-term financial security. Not only does he invest in real estate, in recent years he also became the owner of several restaurants. When it comes to his businesses, Bosco always goes above and beyond to ensure quality product and service, all because he is living his passion. Speaking about his oyster bar recently, the hands-on boss shared that opening a restaurant has been his childhood dream, and that he is determined to make sure it lives up to his customers’ expectations.

Even though Bosco’s face lights up whenever he speaks about his oyster business, a part of his heart still lingers for a long-term acting career. He cites Eric Tsang (曾志偉) and good friend Michael Miu (苗僑偉) as his idols, and hopes to one day achieve a successful career in film.

These days, Bosco has been busy strengthening his presence in China. With a large, loyal fan base in the north, he is allegedly worth a higher fee than popular colleague Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎). Even though the Mainland job offers can easily allow him a very comfortable lifestyle, Bosco insists on choosing projects for their potential and not for the paycheck. “For [non-TVB] offers, I will always read the script first. If I don’t like it, I won’t take the job no matter the price.” He added that he has no plans to pursue the Mainland market full time, preferring to grow his career in his native Hong Kong.

  1. I do admire his sense of fashion as in to hell with what everyone’s thinking. He looks at best silly, at worst hobo silly. Anyway I feel there is a sense of I don’t know, pretentiousness in the whole idea of being confident etc? Because he dumped his girlfriend due to intense public scrutiny (and mom’s disapproval). Hardly an act of a confident man. or is it true when they say failure in love, success in career? Either way his fashion sense is DOA.

  2. Impressive acting in The Ultimate Addiction man. My most favourite in the drama. I like Cheuk Yuk’s hairstyle and cars too.

    1. Too bad the drama itself was slow and boring mann.Zzzzzz

    2. It’s finally looking more interesting in the drama! Can’t wait for the next few episodes to see if Kate will get together with Bosco. Definitely noticed Bosco having more screen time later in the series – yah! I love the chemistry between Kate & Bosco. I still remember their crazy chemistry in Lives of Omission.

      1. I love Bosco and Kate as onscreen couple too. Their chemistry is so great. I think this week, Gia will fall for Damon too. And Damon has fallen for Gia long long time ago

      2. I prefer Bosco and Nancy better. Kate is annoying and too Mary sue in this series.

      3. I love their chemistry too omg! 🙂 They’re close friends in real life so I guess the onscreen chemistry isn’t a problem at all hehe. Lol many people hate kate because they support nancy but my stand is still that love can’t be controlled, it just comes! AND it’s just a show lol haters need to calm their tits

      4. I really hate Kate in this series. Both acting and role. Nancy was so muchhh better and an awesome woman. Bosco’s character disappointed me because he loves Kate and not Nancy and he has this horrible idea of wanting them both! Polygamy or something. Gross thoughts and no respect for women.

      5. Lololol while people here are hating Kate, TVB loves her and this year a source leaked that Kate will get Best Actress for TUA. Best Actor will be Kenneth Ma from Ghost Mountain Hidden Dragon.

Say byebye to your Nancy Wu, Bosco Wong, Sharon Chan whoever LOLOL

      6. Other info: Yeung Yi and Priscilla BB will fight Kate for Best actress. Karena’s BF Lam Fung BB will fight Kenneth Ma for Best actor.

      7. Say byebye to Linda Chung, Carmen, Nancy Wu and Ruco Chan, Bosco, Steven Ma and….

    1. The rating is just artificial & unaccurate. M club really rules the talking points but coming with low viewership

  3. I find he can do comedy roles quite well. Yes, I must say that if I were to compare him with Moses or even Kevin Cheng, I find him to be the better one, can I use the word “versatile” to describe him and his acting is quite natural. Good luck to him.

  4. He has lots of potential. Still can’t take Kenneth seriously in some roles.

  5. I think he’s probably one of the better and more natural actors in tvb. More like a natural. Tvb doesn’t cast him in many roles. Slightly underrated guy i would say

  6. He’s becoming v good! Fashion-wise, I’ve no comments. But he is brave enough to show his style since vvvv long ago. I truly applaud him for that.

    1. Haha…. I notice Bosco rarely has good hair styles. Such a pity, he’s good looking. Perhaps he is adventurous & likes to sample different looks. I prefer him with a simpler hair-style.

  7. His life seems pretty fruitful as he’s involved in both acting and business. 🙂 His connections and friends definitely seems to have helped him in a good way as he has a sunshine personality. I like how he decides to keep his main focus on the HK market. Would miss him if he only acted in mainland dramas.

In theory, I like his adventurous fashion sense, but most of the time his choices are horrendous and just not flattering. A couple of his suits (especially that full on red one in TUA) was just not my cup of tea.

  8. Love is uncontrollable. I hope Anson can find a man that truly love her so than Gia and Damon can be together. What’s the point to stay with a man that his heart belongs to someone.

    1. Given Anson’s dark past, it’s hard to blame her to want to hold onto this relationship with Damon even if he has fallen for someone else. I would think that given Damon’s experience in life and also being perceived as a shark in the financial world in the drama, he wouldn’t be so easily tempted. In today’s episode, he agreed to split half of his company with Anson, which doesn’t live up to the expectations of his character. There’s still some mystery to Bosco’s character that probably hasn’t been revealed yet, but I hope he doesn’t turn out to be someone who chooses love over wealth. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but it would be a huge disappointment in terms of writing. Damon is suppose to be this ambitious man in the beginning and although I admit I like the Bosco/Kate couple, lately, he’s following Gia around like a puppy.

The series is getting a little better and there are some consequences to it, but in an unexpected way (e.g., Sharon being imprisoned and lost her baby).
