Breakup Rumors for Raymond Lam and Karena Ng
Dating for five years, Raymond Lam (林峯) and Karena Ng (吳千語) were rumored to have broken up three months ago. Tabloids claimed that Karena is now seeing a wealthy man.
Raymond has been filming predominately in Mainland China due to the higher income. Because of his busy schedule, he was unable to spend as much time with Karena, leading to the two slowly drifting apart.
Allegedly breaking up with Raymond in March, Karena has been spending more time with former Miss Hong Kong Ellen Wong‘s (王愛倫) youngest son, Derek Lim, whom she dated prior to Raymond. Since Derek and Karena are close in age, the two were often seen having dinner and partying at nightclubs. Through Derek, Karena as able to meet a wider group of wealthy second-generation heirs, including her latest beau.
Karena and her new mystery man were also seen holding hands and fairly dressed up for a subsequent date.
Both Parties Deny Breakup
Currently filming his new series as the legendary Sun Wukong in China, Raymond was a lot quieter than usual and often stared longingly at his phone.
However when asked about the recent breakup rumors, both parties denied having gone separate way. Karena firmly said, “Everything is still normal, I won’t respond to fabricated rumors. Thank for your concern.” Raymond also gave a similar response, stating that he would not comment on the false rumors.
When asked if the speculations were indeed true, Raymond’s cousin, Rosina Lam (林夏薇) shrugged and said she was not sure of the details, but offered her support and said, “I don’t think so!”

If this is true, Raymond’s family must be very happy. In the meantime, Karena will still live the lifestyle for which she has accustomed. She will still be able to buy a dozen brand name handbags on one shopping spree, lol.
If it is fated, it is fated. If it is not, then it is not. A very good example will be Sammi Cheng and Andy Hui.

not a good example of andy and sammi, they both shared a great memories previously but raymond+karena not really just a normal one.
Andy +sammi both won duet gold song in 1993 and both won most popular singer together in 2001. Really strong love le. But i hope raymond can find a better girl. 90s girls no easy one le to handle unless married earlier with kids, or eslse sure find another dude that can accompany her. I cant feel karena the type that faithful girl
@bubbletea @lam86 I don’t think @kk12345 is comparing Karena/Raymond to Sammi/Andy. They’re not saying Karena/Raymond “love” or life experiences are the same as Sammi/Andy’s. They’re using Sammi/Andy as an example of if you’re meant to be together, you’ll be together. Fate will bring you back no matter how many ups and downs or how many years pass by.
At least that’s how I took that comment to meant, ha!

@jjwong . There are a few couoles who were fated to be together. Jacky Cheung and his wife, Eason Chan avd his wife, Andy Lau and his wife these women gave up a lot to be with these men. These men went through rough years when the rice bowl was empty and there were other factors to put a strain on these relationships. I know of other relationships that went through near breakups because of circumstances but fate kept them together, but can’t think off the bat right now. Maybe Karena and Raymond may or may not stay together.
@jjwong when you use an example on an article, of course you are comparing with the couple mentioned in the article or else what for you even mention it? The example is not relevant because those girls were born in different era. Karena totally different from those girls ever mentioned here. Karena not that type of girls that will faithful at least i cant see or feel she will. Dont forget sh dumped that dude bcoz of raymond. And how can she go partying with other boy and daringly hold hand with other boy!!!!!
Fate everyone also can have it, its just your attitude and how much you want to keep the relationship and being faithful. From what i see the girls or boys nowadays to become faithful like andy is very less. If unhappy will just break or divorce.
@lam86 Dude, the OP agreed that they didn’t use S/A to compare but just an example of a “fated” couple. If you know more than what the OP admitted…then yea, be my guest. Unfaithfulness isn’t a behavior that reserved for “boys and girls now aday.” Everyone has tendency to cheat at all ages. Plenty boys and girls back in the days cheat or cheated. @jjwong nope. fated is not the main reason for them to be staying together and faithful. Its about own attitude and behavior. If you cant behave well, how also cannot faithful. At least statistic tells the divorce and break up rates are more terrible than decades ago.

I think everyone knew or knows that a girl in her early twenties who hasn’t seen the world much is unlikely to settle down for marriage with a middle aged uncle. It’s a matter of time before she breaks up with him if not already.
@jimmyszeto i would say chances of a relationship succeeding in spite of a huge age gap, is about 30%. and that’s a generous estimation on my part already.
however, in this case, i think Karena is a fairly mature individual and comes off with a steady temper. she hasn’t done anything to indicate otherwise (the only exception being that she likes to shop? except, what celebrity doesn’t like to shop?). her & raymond may actually stand a chance.
