With the advent of the cold Christmas weather, everyone would like to hold their significant other to stay warm and enjoy the romance. Nineteen year-old singing sensation, G.E.M. was not an exception as she met with boyfriend,Yoga Lin You Jia on Boxing Day. Taiwanese singer, Yoga Lin, secretly arrived in Hong Kong to have dinner with G.E.M. and exchange Christmas gifts.
When the paparazzi snapped photos of G.E.M. and Yoga hugging on their date, Yoga grew angry and suddenly launched an attack on the reporter. It was the first time a reporter crashed their date, exposing Yoga and G.E.M.’s romance, which started less than one year ago, attempting to grab his camera. In an effort to protect G.E.M., Yoga lost his temper.
Attempting to hold Yoga back, G.E.M. said, “Please don’t be like this!” Yoga said, “There’s no need for me to be courteous!” G.E.M. said, “Please go up to the apartment first. Do you trust me?” Yoga said, “Call the police. Hurry up!”
A representative from Yoga’s music company and two police officers arrived on the scene. Yoga and the reporter agreed not to pursue the incident further.

Jayne: How did the paparazzi manage to recognize G.E.M. and Yoga Lin in their disguise?!
The guys always seem to get desperate when the press catch celebrities on a secret date. When Huang Xiao Ming and Angelababy were spotted watching a movie together, Xiao Ming offered to buy the photos from the reporter and asked to not have them published. It would be a lot more classy to just acknowledge they are just friends enjoying each other’s company.

Jayne I agree with your statement. Attacking a papparazzi will only fuel their enthusiasm. Why not just admit, or ignore and walk on? Acting like a brute is exactly like what the tabloids like.
I guess Taiwan paparazzi is not as aggressive and intrusive as HK paparazzi? So, Yoga Lin didn’t know how to handle this? He was based in Taiwan after all and has his earlier experience of celebrity life in Taiwan entertainment circle.
Funn, Yoga’s attack on reporters is on youtube. Either he really didn’t want the romance to be revealed or perhaps the reporters really taunted him. Either way, I think he’s set a bad relationship with the HK press, hindering possible HK advancement.
Woah those are some serious disguises haha. I think that even if Yoga Lin is not familiar with different local paparazzi “etiquette” but there’s no need to be so aggressive. He should have listened to poor G.E.M., who was probably frightened by both Yoga and the reporters.

This time, it’s a Taiwanese celeb. It’s also a derivation from his chinese name Lin You Jia. According to wikipedia, he’s also known as James Lin.
I guess his record company gave him this name so that it will stand out and easily remembered.
There are a few celeb who has a normal english name but it’s more known by another english name.
