Cecilia Cheung Invests in Nightclub in Shanghai

Mother of two, Cecilia Cheung (張栢芝), attended a ceremony for celebrity night club CIRCLE China, in Shanghai on May 28. As the club’s creative director and also investor, the 34-year-old chose to wear a simple but chic outfit at the signing event.

Cecilia debuted as an actress in the late nineties and for the next ten years, Cecilia dedicated her time and energy to her acting performances. After having her two sons, Lucas and Quintus Tse, Cecilia said it was finally time for her to slow down her career and put all efforts in managing her family. Cecilia slowly stepped away from acting to ease her path as a mother.

Cecilia is in charge of supervising and designing the club.  She normally keeps herself up-to-date with current trends and fashion. “I really enjoy designing, and this project is somewhat like a trial for me. Although it is my first time, I really enjoyed the production process. I have a lot on my mind and I’m always thinking about new designs. I still have many things to learn, and I will slowly perfect this craft.”

Apart from managing CIRCLE China and acting as a judge for Dragon TV’s reality talent series Super Diva <媽媽咪呀>, Cecilia dedicates most of her time taking care of her sons in Singapore. “Now that I have kids, I have to rearrange my entire schedule. I cannot do several things at once anymore, but take it slowly one at a time.”

Super Diva, also known as Mama Mia, showcases the performance skills of mothers. Cecilia said the show gives out positive energy and optimistic views towards life. “Through this show, I’m also able to help a lot of mothers. We all learn from each other’s success stories and failures. It’s very meaningful.”

  1. No wonder Cecilia is getting a bad rap about her and her parenting skills, she is investing time and money on this nightclub and which means less time and financial upbringing for her children and their education.

    1. What’s wrong for a woman to work and pursue her business interest, while caring for her children?

You sound so judgemental, and precisely she is investing which will bring in the money for her kids’ upbringing and education. You are darned confused.

The only setback is, why a nightclub? This kind of business is always associated with the underworld, even if you don’t touch them, they will be around, and she being the boss will be in the very thick things handling them.

Doing what she knows best and making big bucks. She’s on the like list. LOL! 😀

      2. Sorry, I did not say it was wrong for a woman to work and pursue her business interest, while caring for her children. Sorry, I am not judgmental if I am restating on facts gleaned from previous articles about Cecilia and her parenting skills with her children. Apparently, you failed to follow the entire sequence of dialogue outlining her “desire” to raise her children correctly by being a good single mother in one article but in another article, it was stated that she had pulled her children out for vacation during the school semester or not allowing her ex-husband to view them and then later on changing her mind. Her constant flipflopping of parenting lifestyle will cause someone to wonder whose best interest is she looking out for? If she is trying to do three things, (1) “devote” time to her children, (2) go back into the entertainment business and now, (3) invest in a nightclub which requires time and capital, something has to lose out. Trying to do two things well is tough, three things even tougher. There are many ways in investing and investing in a nightclub is risky versus buying real estate for cost flow income is much more stable.

BTW, I KNOW for a fact your judgement of my viewpoint indicates your are severely lacking of lifelong experiences. I do also know that you DIDN’T personally earned and invested into a real estate portfolio of $2 MIL or more and while balancing three occupations simultaneously. I know because I did and family life did suffer.

      3. I wonder if the club is those kind with scantily clad women sit inside a large size “aquarium” waiting to be picked by customers.

    2. LOL! Well well well well! Was just thinking about Nick. The game started. Battle of the exes. Yup, back to her roots, she’s in. She can afford it and so are her kids. LOL! 😀

  2. When I first saw the pic I thought it was JJ.

  3. Her and Nic are just so into money. They keep claiming that they are a good parent to their two sons but constantly spending their time in investment. Nic also invested in luxury clubs. As a good parents I don’t think this is a business you want to be in.

She has no time to grow in acting after her scandal so is not like she gave up her acting career for her two sons. I just don’t like how they keep saying they are being good parenting and she scarified her acting to ease her path as a mother but how much time do they have for their kids. Nic is so greedy in money making and all he has is money to give their kids.

I don’t think this couple is authentic. Father like son. Patrick (and his ex wife’s deborah) is not a good person so I’m not surprised but Nic is better.

  4. if she just stay home or Nic stay home and take care for the kids,,, I wonder how they’re going to survivor in the next 2 years…

    1. I’m sure they can survivor with the asset they’re holding. Just depending on how much more asset they want to pump up. Don’t be claiming she left the acting industry for her kids when truly not the case. I see both of them spending more times on themselves and in making money more than the time with the kids.

      1. I don’t really understand spend time with kids mean to some people?,, they both are artists,,, I am sure they need to spend time on themselves,,,, from what I see,,, artists stay home as a wife,,, or mother,,, normally after 3 years,,, they have not much in the market,,,, just from my point of view

  5. That’s a really bad photo of her. I saw one episode of Mama Mia. Talents are not that great but the judges exudes real sensitivity and positive human spirit towards the mothers who really had it tough in their lives. I must say I’m not a fan of Cecilia. She actually dated my friend’s brother when she was studying in Australia and my friend said she can real catty. But in the show she came across as genuinely warm, compassionate and supportive to the contestants.

Anyway, I won’t be watching more of Mama Mia.

    1. I mean I won’t be watching more of Mama Mia. There are way too many talents and reality shows in China and I have to be selective with what to watch.

  6. WOW … she looks terrible, didn’t even recognize her. Looks like she had a boobs job

  7. Seriously I don’t understand how people assume she’s gorgeous even though she has British mixed blood in her. She looks all Asian and not even pretty.

  8. i don’t know what you guys are smoking, she looks hot there. Now if you guys will excuse me, I got a busy evening with her pics tonight.

  9. She looks prettier when she acted as a blind girl & another one para para sakura opposite aaron kwok. Not all of us are lucky to age gracefully 🙁

  10. next she’s going to join the porn industry.

  11. To Larry3,
I don’t think so, what makes you said that. I thought she really cares a lot for the 2 boys therefore, no mom would would to do nude or do porn for the love of their children.

  12. Seriously does not look like her at all. I can’t believe it. I thought she looked real pretty in her hey day.

Tbh, what parent does not want to provide the best for their children? If I could, I would work to provide better tuition, extra curricular activities, food, lifestyle for my kids. I don’t see anything wrong with that. So I don’t think she’s money hungry. She just wants to maintain their current living standards and possibly set her boys up financially for their futures. Everyone has their own way of parenting. It’s not right to judge another without walking a day in their shoes.

    1. “It’s not right to judge another without walking a day in their shoes.”

“Seriously does not look like her at all. I can’t believe it. I thought she looked real pretty in her hey day.”

You are judging her. Say all you want she doesn’t care, her comfort zone. 😀

  13. it’s difficult to be a single mom. nothing wrong w/ investing in a nightclub if there’s where she sees the potentials. even as a celebrity as famous as she is, there are limited ways, they know to make money. just like the rest of us, there’s no income if they stop working. got to invest somewhere, okay for her to see the potential and opportunity.

  14. hi there

    1. enough of such individual trying hard making news.
    2. was that a 42D or what, oops!
