Produced by Jackie Chan and directed by Frankie Chan, Lady Warriors of Yang Family has been shooting in Ordos, Inner Mongolia . After shooting for seventy-nine days and achieving momentum in the battlefield scenes, the media was allowed to visit the filming set for the first time. Portraying husband and wife in Lady Warriors of Yang Family, Richie Ren and Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi met with the press.
With local temperatures dipping to minus twenty degrees Celsius, the entire cast said that “the weather was terrible” and filming took place under extremely harsh conditions. Portraying Mu Guiying in the film, Cecilia Cheung fell off a horse and suffered a facial injury in an earlier battlefield scene. Cecilia said that “minor ailments are a blessing” to comfort herself. Appearing to recover well from her facial injury, Cecilia’s right cheek did not show any signs of bruising or swelling through the make-up. Cecilia looked beautiful as always. However, she often asked the director whether she looked good or not.
Explaining how her face was injured, Cecilia said an actor on the set was careless with his sword and swung it in the wrong direction. Cecilia said with a smile, “Actually all the actors were wounded. Compared to them, my injury may have been more serious! Fortunately, there was no injury to the eyes and no large bruises on the face.”
Speaking of the time when she fell off her horse during the filming of Lady Warriors of Yang Family, Cecilia clearly possessed a lingering fear. “It was really dangerous! After I fell off the horse, the horse almost stepped on me. Fortunately, the horse trainer pulled the reins and held on to me. Otherwise, my body may be totally immobilized now!” Cecilia maintained that she will exercise precaution during the remaining filming of the movie, “I definitely want to have more children!”
Portraying Cecilia’s husband in Lady Warriors of Yang Family, Ritchie Ren voiced his guilt over Cecilia’s injuries and repeatedly said, “I’m sorry, I did not protect you in the field!” Ritchie praised Cecilia’s professionalism, “After Cecilia’s face was accidentally injured, she immediately asked the director to complete the scene before the swelling of her face surfaced. Otherwise, it would have taken several days for the swelling in her face to subside and delay filming.”

Jayne: The initial bruise on Cecilia’s face looked pretty bad, as shown in the above photos. Fortunately, she is recovering well. The filming conditions for Lady Warriors of Yang Family sound pretty brutal. I guess the director wanted to replicate the harsh conditions of the battle sequences.
Despite the photo scandal and being a mother of two kids, I think Cecilia Cheung’s superstar status is still as big as ever….

I agree. I think Cecilia seems even more popular now compared to before in the movie scene. Perhaps becoming a mother has truly changed her and she has become a more mature individual overall. She seems to be a responsible mother, wife, and daughter-in-law, but her work ethic has also improved immensely as shown in her professionalism and good sportsmanship. Her return seems more widely accepted compared to Gillian and Edison’s. At least no one would write letters or calls to complain of her appearance on the big screen. I remember when Gillian first tried to make a comeback, there were still complaints of her appearance on shows. I think now the audience is finally starting to accept her again.
Cecilia seems to have been forgiven by the audience already. Maybe because she admitted her faults and took responsibility for her actions in a more sincere manner. Or maybe her role as a mother and wife has gained her some points and empathy with the audience, showing her as a devoted and sincere to become a better person. She’s a great actress and I do look forward to her comeback.

I believe Gillian is as innocent as she portrayed and was truly stupid b/c she was so in love with Edison.
Gillian, unlike Cecilia, does not have a man backing her up and supporting her all the way.
I think regardless of what an artist has done(it also depends on how serious it is too), if a certain amount of time has passed, then the audience will slowly forget it. They will then began to accept them and forgive them again. I still remember what Aaron Kwok went through with that one incident many years ago. However, since a lot of time has passed, everyone has forgiven him and he is still as popular as ever.

Aaron kwok was taped having sex with this girl and her boyfriend. The video never surfaced or anything but it was all a scheme to get Aaron’s money.
A sex tape? Never seen it. I suppose he paid them off, if such a tape exist? He doesn’t look so careless, nor so willing to share. Having a threesome is different from sexually harassing someone. So which is which??

Lol, time befuddles everyone’s memories, as everyone’s version seems different. This is my recollection, if anyone remembers differently, please add your two cents:
Aaron Kwok was performing in Australia and he met a woman there whom he wanted to have a sexual encounter with. I think the woman may have even seduced him intentionally, recognizing this as a money-opportunity. Unknown by Aaron, the boyfriend took either photos or had a tape of Aaron being intimate with her. I don’t know if they actually had sex, as I don’t remember the papers saying so.
It’s sufficient to know that it was intimate enough for them to blackmail him and for Aaron to think that it wasn’t steamy enough for him to pay. The fact that Aaron refused to pay money brought the matter to light. Aaron’s manager and PR team did well in managing this scandal, in which Aaron became a “victim” of an intentional “trap.” I remember Aaron referring to the incident as “hom ching” (or” trap”) in Chinese. They downplayed the fact that Aaron may have a tendency to have these casual sexual encounters. Aaron really had the most understanding press around at the time. I don’t know how fans reacted at the time, whether they felt that Aaron was a victim or not in the incident.
Personally, I don’t think he had sex with the woman because that entails far greater consequences. Also, wasn’t the matter settled out of court (likely with Aaron paying for fees he initially did not want to pay) and all charges were dropped?
Very few HK celebrities have been embroiled in threesomes that I know of. Loletta Lee (changed her name to Rachel Lee) allegedly slept with her hairstylist, Jacky Ma and his wife. The trio apparently had enough of these sexual encounters for Mrs. Ma to write a book about it. Not sure if the book ever made it to actual print.

I was (and still is) Aaron’s fan back then. All I remember was that he was videotaped being intimate with a woman in australia and yes, Aaron’s side said it’s a trap. There was also bootleg VCD selling what was supposed to be his sex video. But, as a fan of Aaron’s, I refused to buy it. My reasoning back then was that I didn’t want to give money to people who trap him or profit from him this way. I did see him as a victim back then. Whether he really did it or not was not important. What was important was he was trapped.
I have to admit I was disappointed in him a bit because he has publicly said he will stay virgin until 30 or something like that. But, this incident didn’t diminish my liking of him. I still like him the same because I like him for his singing (yeah, yeah, I know a lot of people said he couldn’t sing back then. I felt the same too. I also thought he’s just a pretty face until I listened to ‘雨中感嘆號’ on the radio where he changed his singing style and I was impressed).
Now that you mentioned, the memory is coming back. I don’t remember specifically a sex tape, he was probably kissing and fondling. I do think of his as a victim. He may have genuinely liked the girl. I can imagine this put him off relationships for a while or rather one night stands.
Despicable people but I have no shame. I will buy the tape and watch.
