Liza Wang Ming Chuen and Law Ka Ying got married on May 2, 2009 in Las Vegas, USA. The 61 year-old Liza and 62 year-old Ka Ying have been dating for 21 years. Under the witness of their family members and friends, the couple got married in Las Vegas. Liza’s brother was their witness at the marriage ceremony. Currently, they are enjoying their honeymoon there.

The couple tried their luck at the casinos, played golf, attended the shows, and tried the various buffets at the hotels. For the last several days, Liza received numerous congratulations from friends and the media. However, since she could not respond to each individual calls and text message, she released photos of her honeymoon to TVB, which were shared with the public.

Liza and Ka Ying will be performing in Los Angeles, USA until May 9th. On May 12th, the couple will return to Hong Kong.

The day before yesterday, Liza accepted a radio interview and spoke for the first time as “Mrs. Law.” She revealed that Ka Ying was very excited about the wedding, but both their moods were calm. Since the couple did not have too many friends, they decided not to hold a wedding banquet. Ka Ying was extremely joyous and revealed that the total wedding costs were approximately $2,000 (Yuan).

Asked how Ka Ying had proposed for her hand in marriage, Liza did not directly respond. She said there was no official “proposal,” but the couple took into account their work engagements in the USA and the fact that their friends and family were also there. Thus after some discussion, the couple decided to get married in Las Vegas.

Why did Liza not announce her wedding plans to friends earlier? Prior to leaving for the USA, Liza did not fully make up her mind about whether to get married or not. After returning to Hong Kong, do the newlyweds intend to hold a banquet? Liza said bluntly, “No, we do not want to make it a big affair. We wanted a private wedding in Las Vegas, with the attendance of close friends and relatives.”

For the rest of 2009, both Liza and Ka Ying will be busy working on individual projects. The couple will wait until next year for a formal honeymoon. Liza will be starring in a new TVB series. Afterwards, Liza will change her past career-minded focus and reduce her work output to enjoy a more leisurely lifestyle. In recent years, Liza and Ka Ying entered a mutual agreement to go on vacation every year. Although the couple will remain in the entertainment industry after marriage, their work output will be reduced and they will enter a semi-retirement stage.
