Former Hong Kong TVB actress, Sherming Yiu (姚樂怡), will be getting married with her boyfriend, Alan Wu, next week. The couple has been dating for 8 years. The wedding will feature a retro-theme held in the Walled Village of Hong Kong! Sherming will even be seated in a bridal sedan chair on her wedding day!
Taking Wedding Photos in Japan
Earlier, Sherming and Alan traveled to Kyoto, Japan to take their wedding photos earlier, which featured dramatic nature backgrounds of beaches and cherry blossoms. Sherming and Alan were caught in the strongest winds to blast through Japan in the last 59 years, matching in force to Hong Kong’s typhoon wind strength!
The couple turned the photo excursion into a vacation, sampling local delicacies in Japan. Due to the delicious Japanese food, Sherming gained back the 6 pounds in weight she had lost prior to the trip. The bride was still far from her weight loss target of 13 pounds, with only 6 days left until the wedding banquet!
Retro-Themed Wedding in Walled Village
Sherming and Alan’s 30-table wedding banquet will take place next Thursday, April 26th. An elaborate retro-themed wedding ceremony will occur on Sunday, April 29th in Walled Village, Hong Kong. While Alan grew up in the Netherlands, his family originated from Walled Village, where they will hold a 100-table celebration inviting their closest family members and friends.
Sherming and her bridemaids, Pinky Cheung (張文慈) and Emily Kwan (關寶慧), went for a bridal fitting the day before. Sherming custom-ordered a traditional Chinese bridal gown, embellished with an thousands of crystal beads. The women loved extremely excited when trying out their gowns. Sherming said, “If my bridesmaids were to wear their gowns with sneakers, they will look even more trendy!”

I am sure they do. Chinese usually have 2 ceremonies don’t they? Morning and night. The chinese gown will usually be during dinner. The kneeling and serving tea usually morning BUT it could be during dinner, whichever is most convenient. I notice even Christians do that.

Many Chinese-American brides skip the traditional red bridal gown altogether. In the morning tea ceremony, they just wear the white gown. The red gown is considered to be “old-fashioned.”
There is a beauty to cultural traditions and customs, which are being lost.
Really? most brides I know wear the traditional one during tea ceremony then during dinner they will start with the white wedding dress and then switch to the traditional again.

Very nice photos and congrats to both of them! There have been so many weddings lately. I guess everyone wants a dragon baby. It is good to wear both the white western dress and a traditional one. One of my friends wore the red cheung sam one instead of the lose chinese wedding gown which is a bit too old fashioned for some people.
who is Allen Wu. I looked it up, but the only Allen Wu was already married.

Nothing wrong with being preggy and getting married at the same time. Nothing wrong at all.
I know. It is the “fashion” nowadays. Celebrities won’t get married unless they are pregnant and want to give a proper last name to their child.

She no longer films series anymore. Her last appearance in series, if not mistaken is Maiden’s Vow which she agreed to take part due to her friendship with Charmaine.
She runs an event and artiste management company now.
