Charmaine Sheh, Dayo Wong’s “Agent Mr. Chan” to Open February 15

Working together again after nine years since their last collaboration in TVB’s You’re Hired <絕代商驕>, Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) and Dayo Wong (黃子華) spoke about their movie Agent Mr. Chan <棟篤特工>.

Although it has almost been a decade since the two stars have filmed together, the pair became familiar with each other immediately on set as if they never went separate ways. Complimenting that Charmaine went from being a television star to now becoming an international superstar, Dayo revealed he admired Charmaine’s unending enthusiasm and optimism the most.

When they were filming You’re Hired in 2009, they had a very tight schedule. Dayo said, “I remember I didn’t get enough sleep while filming and I often looked really angry and unapproachable. I was more motivated when I saw Charmaine laughing and smiling the entire time she was on set.”

Beaming at Dayo’s comment, Charmaine immediately said Dayo was actually the impressive one. “Your status went from human to god-like – but even then, I think you’re just as cool!”

While fans will finally be able to see the duo on screens again this year, Dayo revealed that this project took almost two years of preparation and work. Thrilled to have wrapped things up, Dayo said he is very grateful that both Charmaine and the backstage crew members were willing to wait for him based on his project proposal two years ago.

Opening on February 15 during the Lunar New Year holiday, Agent Mr. Chan will also feature many stars such as Michael Hui (許冠文), Miriam Yeung (楊千嬅), and Chilam Cheung (張智霖) in cameo appearances. Dayo exclaimed, “This is a misunderstanding, I didn’t pull my friendship card for this. I don’t dare to ask Michael to guest star as a photographer, or ask Miriam to just stand in as a random pedestrian. I just presented my idea and it was the film company who found these stars for me. Of course, I’m so thankful that they were able to guest star and save my film. I’m grateful to have these wonderful friends.”

  1. Charmaine looks fuller in the picture. In her IG she has posted quite a number of pictures of her eating good food. 🙂

  2. Ahh! I hope the movie goes well. Dayo’s been prepping for this forever.

Ah Sheh looks more plastic-y in the picture, probably bloated from food. The cost of fame is the inability to eat as you like without looking bad 🙁

  3. Charmaine is gorgeous. As for the film, I have my reservations. I hope it turns out ok since it sounds like Dayo worked hard on it.
