Charmaine Sheh Steps On “Little Dayo” with Her Stilettos

Dayo Wong’s (黃子華) new film Agent Mr. Chan <棟篤特工>, which costars Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), held a film completion ceremony last night. The movie is a spy comedy about a former British agent who clashes with a Hong Kong government official while investigating a case.

The film, directed by Jeff Cheung (張家傑) with a screenplay written by Dayo, is produced by China 3D Digital Entertainment. It is Dayo’s second collaboration with Charmaine after TVB’s You’re Hired <>, released in 2009.

“I originally planned on inviting only two celebrity friends [to play roles in the film],” said Dayo. “In the end, ten times [the amount of friends] came!” The film features a plethora of guest stars, including Alan Tam (譚詠麟), Sandra Ng (吳君如), Ada Choi (蔡少芬), Kingdom Yuen (苑瓊丹), Jim Chim (詹瑞文), Johnny Tang (鄧兆尊), and more. Dayo said, “With their help, I won’t become box office poison anymore.”

Despite Dayo’s popularity in television and stand-up comedy, his films—most being low-budget comedies—do not do well in the box office.

“I didn’t want to leave out anyone, so I’m just going to thank them all right now,” said Dayo.

The comedy actor then turned to focus to Charmaine, his partner in the film. “I don’t think anyone has seen this side of Charmaine in the film. It’s pretty cute, and I hope it’ll deliver some great surprises. This proves that she’s a very versatile actress!”

Dayo said he has completely become desensitized about doing intimate scenes. He recalled a scene where costar Larine Tang (鄧月平) had to unbuckle his belt, but had trouble doing so. Dayo said he wouldn’t mind if Larine really did brush against his crotch.

“I’ve gone past that stage,” he said. “I won’t get sensitive about it.”

“He has nothing to hold back,” Charmaine jumped in. “He’s let me step all over him.” (On “little Dayo”?) “Yep! And it was with my stiletto heels too!” Dayo said, “If you’re trying to channel 007 then you’re definitely going to get tortured by someone.”
