Cheung Tat Ming Denies Relapse from Cancer

Hong Kong actor and cancer survivor, Cheung Tat Ming (張達明), hosted a seminar last week to share his thoughts and journey on fighting cancer. Tat Ming underwent chemotherapy treatments, and suffered from many after effects, including numbness in the arms, and sinusitis. Tat Ming expressed that encouragement from others and positive energy is key to helping a patient.

Diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer three years ago, it was speculated that Tat Ming experienced a relapse from cancer and dropped to a mere 110 pounds. Although Tat Ming appeared to be on the thin side during his seminar talk, he was full of energy and maintained an upbeat attitude. He denied that he is suffering from cancer again, and made jokes about his sudden weight loss. He exclaimed that he probably lost the weight because it is summer time.

Tat Ming was spotted visiting both western and traditional Chinese doctors to alleviate numbness in the arm. He said, “Besides being thinner, my energy and health is very good. My arm is numb so I went to the doctor. Western doctors said there’s nothing they can do and I have to wait for my arm to get better by itself. Doctors who practice Chinese medicine said I can go for acupuncture. Now, I do exercises at home for physical therapy, and it helps me loosen my muscles and bones to help with better blood flow. I feel less numbness afterwards.”
