Crystal Fung Turns Down 10-year TVB Contract

With only a few months lefts until finishing her duties as Miss Hong Kong 2016, Crystal Fung (馮盈盈) recently turned down TVB’s offer for a 10-year management contract, which may be too lengthy and inflexible towards her career.

At a promotional event, Crystal denied having been cast aside by TVB management after refusing to sign the contract. Crystal clarified, “I didn’t receive such an offer – there’s no such thing. Besides, it’s subjective as to whether a contract length is considered too long or not. I’m not too old and I trust that TVB is currently still working on the contract.”

Admitting that she does have intentions to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, Crystal promised that her enthusiasm will not fade and hopes to film a series in the future.

On the other hand, Second Runner-up Bonnie Chan (陳雅思) revealed that she already signed with TVB. Bonnie said, “I participated in the competition so I would get an opportunity to enter the industry. Regarding the contract length, that’s a very sensitive topic so I hope everyone can understand. I’m very lucky that I’ve been given so many opportunities. I will even work with Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) in a future program.”

William Chak Laughs At Teenage Self

Also attending the promotional event with Crystal and Bonnie, William Chak (翟威廉) was asked about the various videos of his 18-year old self that surfaced online recently.

Laughing at old videos, in which he was a member of a stand-up comedian group, William said, “While attending school in Japan and working as a part-time model, this was something they organized for me. I told them that I spoke Japanese with an accent but they said they didn’t mind. I also spoke Cantonese in the show and the Japanese all loved me when I said, ‘No problem’ – they would laugh every time.”

Asked if he was ever invited to film adult videos, William said, “No!”

William also revealed that he dated while studying in Japan. “I would consider her my first love. But she is married now – we keep in touch and I’ve sent her children gifts before!”

  1. Crystal comes from a wealthy and influential family right? So I’m sure she’ll get her way with tvb. Or she doesn’t really need to rely on tvb to enter entertainment. Bonnie is typical MHK to TVB mule, which is standard, predicted and understandable. Nothing wrong with either gals’ choices. It’s just their decision is based on different up bringing.

  2. She’s hawt. Signing a 10 yr contract with TVB would be a waste of her youth + looks.
