Jessica Hsuan reportedly spent more than $10 million (HKD) on a detached house in Sai Kung recently. The house was alleged bought for use after Jessica got married. Allegedly, Jessica’s veterinarian boyfriend, Ruan Bester, successfully asked for her hand in marriage on Valentine’s Day. Rumors claimed that Jessica agreed to Ruan’s proposal and the wedding will take place overseas early next year!
When reporters contacted Jessica, she noted that the recent rumors were false and that Ruan did not propose yet. “The only truth in the news was that I did purchase a new property. The house will not be used for after marriage. I love to go house-hunting. After seeing numerous properties for sale, my parents liked this one, so I bought it.”
Did Jessica watch the real estate market for a good trend prior to the purchase? “I did not pay attention to these matters. I just wanted to buy it.” Did Jessica also look at properties for after marriage use? “Let him (Ruan) look at it! We do not have plans to get married yet!”

Actually she is very westernised so I am not surprised she chose a westerner. I would be very surprised if say she marries an actor from China, which is the trend these days.

Oh not to mention there are a lot of foreigners living in HK now. So I wouldn’t be surprised that even if someone wasn’t westernised that they would date/marry a caucasian/foreigner.

They make a lovely couple. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re already hitched like many couples who claim they’re not married or do not plan to get married.

Well she has been filming for many years and is pretty popular with the audience, so she should have quite a bit of money if she saved up well. I don’t think you need to be really rich to own a property in HK.

How racist! my aunt met my uncle (who is Caucasian) when they she was 17 (and he was 19), got engaged when she was 19 and married when they had completed university and were working. They moved to Hong Kong over 15 years ago and are still happily married. Yes, the Western celebrities shine a rather deceiving light with their ho hums and changing of partners, but i do not think you can say that the Hong Kong celebrities are heads and shoulders above them. Look at all the women dating older tycoons! And the secret affairs!I live in Australia and have seen many mixed couples. A detached house in HK for HKD10 million?? That sounds very cheap. Any middle working class person should be able to afford that by paying installment over 20-30 years. I don’t think Jessica needs to be very rich to do that.
I am so happy for Jessica and not surprise at all that she picks a Westerner as a boyfriend. He seems like a very low-key person and down to earth, so I wish them the best. Married or not, who cares, they look like they are already married, what is another piece of paper. In regards to the house, she has been in the industries long enough to have money for such property, so I am not surprise at all. And I don’t think she uses his money, she does not strike me as a gold-digger, rather a very independent woman who spends her own money.

I don’t agree that your marriage license is just a piece of paper. That piece of paper will bind Jessica and Ruan together and isn’t any old piece of paper. Since there were earlier reports on Jessica and her boyfriend, I googled him and from what I read on the other sites, people claimed that he wasn’t a good guy. I don’t exactly remember what the exact claims about Ruan were, but they were not positive.
Really?? I remember that Jessica herself said that Ruan is a really nice guy with a kind heart. She at times had to stand up for him since others were taking advantage of him. If what Jessica said is true then everyone should believe her since she should be the one that knows him best.
I also wanted to add, if he was truly that bad as people say, I highly doubt that Jessica would be with him and even consider marrying him.I heard that her parents even like him, so I think he isn’t as bad as some may think. Maybe it is because they don’t know him very well or he may not give a good first impression. However, that doesn’t imply that he is a bad person. I know some people that give really good first impressions but not are not nice people at all, while there are others that may not give a good first impression but are great people. You just have to take the time to get to know them.
@HeTieShou I don’t remember what the exact claims were, but it wasn’t something good. I was confused as I read about Ruan on JayneStars first and I decided to google him for some reason. I also remember reading all the positive things Jessica said about Ruan so the different claims in these two sources really torn my judgment apart.
I agree that no one is perfect and that we should be able to forgive. However, there’s always this very small chance that he’ll do it again if he did it before. I’m definitely not saying that what I read was true, but I’m just curious to know why there were so many differences between those two sources. I too think that Jessica wouldn’t consider marrying him if he was that type of person, but Jessica seems genuinely happy with him so best wishes to her!

Do you have the links? I would like to read it and see… Maybe they are just rumours, who really knows if they are true or not? But like I have said, Jessica knows him best so I am sure that if he did do those things, they are all in the past. I am sure that she has forgiven him and focuses on all of the good things about him rather than the bad things. Who was saying these things about him anyways?? I am not the biggest fan of Jessica but do like her and was really sad to hear that she and Dicky broke up years ago.I thought they were such a great couple and loved each other. Thanks for the info but what was all that talk about this embezzlement?? I have never heard of that. Can you tell me more about it?? Even if so, I am sure that is the past and there is more to the story than we think. If he was truly that bad, then I don’t think Jessica would want to be with him and consider marrying him..
