Donnie Yen Chi Dan, Huang Xiao Ming, Sammo Hung Kam Bo, and Lynn Hung Dai Lam attended the Beijing premiere of Ip Man 2. The film’s investors announced that they will contribute $500,000 (Yuan) to Qinghai’s earthquake survivors, to help paid for supplies and food. Prior to the premiere, a moment of silence was observed for the people killed by the earthquake.

The organizers invited people from Yushu, Qinghai to provide a first-hand account about the earthquake. One witness revealed how they saw a boy dig out the earthquake debris to find his little sister’s dead corpse. Lynn, Donnie, and his wife, Cecilia Wang Si Si could not hold back their tears. As a mother, Cecilia had a great deal of pity for the children in Qinghai.

The cast of Ip Man 2 joined the event organizers to sing “讓世界充滿愛”while raising a light of hope. While singing, Lynn continued to cry. Since the victims were fellow countrymen, everyone should support each other. Lynn said that aside from taking care of their own children, the women in Qinghai also took care of other young orphans, whose parents died in the earthquake.

Sammo Hung noted that many Hong Kong citizens and celebrities cared greatly about the survivors in Qinghai. With dedication and hope, he believed that the Qinghai residents will be able to reconstruct happy lives.

Shortly after the earthquake too place, Huang Xiao Ming donated $200,000 (Yuan) towards the Qinghai disaster relief recovery. He stressed the importance of the survivors resuming their lives normally and should not give up. Since everyone was Chinese, they should all work together.

Donnie Yen said, “The people in Yushu are our countrymen. We will always support you. Please stay strong!”
