Elanne Kong Says “Yes” to Oscar Siu’s Marriage Proposal

Singer-turned-entrepreneur Oscar Siu (蕭潤邦) has successfully proposed to girlfriend, Elanne Kong (江若琳). Gathering Elanne’s friends to witness the proposal, Oscar sang a song and gave her a two-carat diamond ring. Elanne was moved to tears and cried emotionally, “Yes!”

Turning 37 years old yesterday, Oscar took the opportunity to announce the couple’s engagement. “This year’s birthday gift is very special! It’s a person I’m going to be spoiling forever! My marriage proposal succeeded! She said, ‘I do’! All of [Elanne’s] family and friends: I will always support and protect her! From now on, she can sing her songs and I’ll fry my buns! We will eat buns if we have buns and eat rice if we have rice! We’ll enjoy our fortune together and I’ll shield all the hardships!”

Elanne said, “Oscar is is a very giving person in love; I can rely on him for the rest of my life.”

Although the couple has only been dating for one year, they have known each other for ten years. They have witnessed each other’s ups and downs, including Elanne’s unpleasant lawsuit with her former music company and Oscar’s success in his snack shop franchise. Oscar’s sheng jian baos (pan-fried pork dumplings) are very popular and he recently opened his fifth shop.

Elanne Knew About Proposal Beforehand?

Although Oscar tried his best to surprise Elanne with his proposal, she may have known ahead of time. It was hard to keep the secret with so many friends in the loop. During the planning process, Oscar would often get text alerts from his group chat. Oscar said, “She noticed [I was getting a lot of texts]; perhaps she already knew what I was planning but pretended not to know.”
