Eliza Sam Wants to Be More Adventurous

With her career advancing with many opportunities, Eliza Sam (岑麗香) has to put her romantic life on hold. However, the 30-year-old does not seem to mind, believing that love will eventually come when it is time.

Although born and raised in Canada, Eliza is nevertheless familiar with Lunar New Year customs. Eliza revealed that she used to cook many Lunar New Year dishes when she lived in Canada. “I have fried New Year Cake and Chinese radish cake before. One is sweet and the other is salty. It’s like a representation of life.”

Despite her cheerful personality and past relationship rumors, it comes to a surprise to know that Eliza is still very single.

“I used to be someone who lacked confidence and liked to hide myself,” explained Eliza. “When I don’t need to work, I stay at home. I’m shy. I’m a homebody, and that’s probably why I’m so unfamiliar with the outside world. I don’t know how to take it all in.”

Eliza has always been unadventurous, a classic introvert, but when asked what her New Year’s resolution was, she said, “Leave the house.” She wants to find more balance in her life. “One of my new year’s resolution is to socialize more, to enrich my life.”

Socializing gives the opportunity to meet more potential partners. Although Eliza is already 30, she said she is not in a rush to get married. “I don’t think romance is something that can be forced. Let nature take its course, and I’ll hand my fate to the hands of God. What I can only do right now is to enhance myself so I’ll be prepared to face my future maturely.”

On what her ideal type is, Eliza said the most important aspect of a good boyfriend is good communication skills. “I need to be comfortable with him. He needs to be someone whom I can truly be myself with, accept my flaws, and of course, take care of my family.” How about physical qualities? “Inner beauty stays forever. I’m okay with it if he’s a little fat, haha!”

  1. That’s my girl, getting prettier n prettier, love that cooking show, hope to see more of her, haven’t see her in a drama recently, hopefully soon.

  2. Eliza! Don’t BS to the media. You are not the classic shy type and a homebody. In fact, you’re quite sociable, and hung out with the “in” crowd. Wow! I’ve totally lost respect for you. You make yourself sound like Linda Chung (and I know her too), and you’re nothing like Linda. For god sakes, you used to work at Hapa Izakaya as a waitress, how much of an introvert can you possibly be? Don’t kid yourself!

    1. For those that don’t know, Hapa Izakaya is a trendy Japanese Izakaya in Vancouver that employs mostly good-looking sociable models.

      1. Sure, she hangs out with the same crowd that’s close friends with Godfrey Gao.

      2. @k

        Aha!!

Now we have the evidence to expose her as a closet party animal.

    2. I was thinking the same thing but you actually wrote what I was thinking. She plays the naive shy type really well! It’s not a bad thing though, with the spot light on her, she should be more aware of her actions and how she treats people (applies to all celebrities I suppose). It’s not a bad thing if it makes her a genuine person in the long run.

  3. she does look sexy here compared to her goody shoes roles in the past.
