Faye Wong Cries Over Divorce; Li Yapeng Parties With Women
Faye Wong (王菲) and Li Yapeng (李亞鵬) ended their 8-year marriage on September 13, in which they publicly announced the news via Weibo. This afternoon, Li Yapeng was spotted in Urumqi Diwopu International Airport, heading back to Beijing. Reporters saw him pulling his luggage and walking happily in all smiles. There was no longer a ring on his finger, and he seemed to feel a sense of relief and freedom. In contrast, Faye appeared stiff with teary eyes when the media questioned her two nights ago. The ex-couple seemed to have very different reactions regarding their divorce.
Since Faye loves to sing, the ex-couple liked to visit karaoke bars on their anniversaries. On the day their divorce was announced, Faye returned to Beijing alone, while Li Yapeng allegedly hung out in a karaoke bar. Netizens found photos of Li Yapeng drinking with a group of friends, including Yang Kun (楊坤). When the press asked Yang Kun, he proved the photographs were taken back in time and not after the divorce.
Nonetheless, the mainland Chinese press later claimed Li Yapeng indeed spent his time at a karaoke bar in a nightclub on the day of his divorce with Faye. According to reports, Li Yapeng booked the largest room available and enjoyed his time singing with a big group including six women. Photographs of him energetically singing surfaced across the internet. Sitting in between two women and having had drinks throughout the night, Li Yapeng was in high spirits.
Reportedly, singing for one night was not enough for Li Yapeng. On September 14, he and a group of friends were spotted at a hotel singing karaoke late into the night. It is uncertain whether there were women accompanying him.

I’m just going to rewatch youtube videos of Wong Faye happily belting out Dou Wei’s songs more enthusiastically than other songs to counterbalance these press releases of a wronged woman and an untrue second husband obtained as a third party from a previous third party.
She looks so different than I remember her? She has changed a lot or that’s just not a flattering pic of her.
Too bad it didn’t work out, I always thought since she always marries Mandarin natives like herself perhaps she is more compatible w/them. I guess you just never know and nothing seems to last forever. Sigh…
Well, for one thing everyone ages, so of course looks will change…only a rare (lucky) few age without much change to their appearance. I think she still looks good.
She seems to have lost some precious weight. I mean, she used to be thin, but not as thin as this. Her marital problems must’ve caused her a lot of distress 🙁

But somehow, Faye has never given the impression that she gives a hoot to whatever others think/say (kinda like the aloof Nic Tse) whether it’s her personal life or her singing. She can go di-da throughout the whole song, be a recluse and yet garner loyal fans/idols.

It was a surprise with these two. I’d thought they were united with their common cause bec of their daughter, what with the charity, funding et al.
Who knows what goes on with people’s households? Or who knows who feels more sad about the divorce.

IF they have been at cold-war for the past yr, why shed tears? There should be no more left to shed. It’s already acceptance once you get to this stage (esp since she reportedly seemed to be the one determined to end it, with seclusion in temple or whatever instead of exploring other options).
And if he parties = that also sometimes doesn’t mean spit. It’s just ‘surface gaiety’ to mask pain. And another coping strategy.
The media should just butt out, STOP being judgemental and give them space to heal and move on.

Hm… good point and early on I heard that many said that LYP was with Faye because of her money since she had way more than he did. I really wonder if LYP eventually got tired of Faye being more successful and making more than him??? Many traditional men really do not like women being more successful and making more money than they do. But anyways, none of us know what truly happened and they have divorced so all we can do is wish for them both the best.

Faye looked old in this pic. Looks like her jaw has drop like some elderly woman would and starting to lose their teeth. Her skin started to sink down ward. Getting old sure SUCKS!
Yep it sure does. Skin loses its elasticity and collagen. It also doesn’t help that Faye used to smoke (still smokes?). Plus that matronly hair cut of hers doesn’t flatter her bone structure either.

When the marriage appears to be going strong year by year all were hoping for the best and relieved that Ya Ping has finally changed his way.

You should not just look on the surface like that. What if he is truly sad on the inside but is trying to cover it up with drinking and all to try to relieve his pain?? I have known some people who have done that after a break up/divorce. They are actually really devastated inside but choose to hide it by pretending to act like they are happy on the outside when they are hurting inside. However, the just do not want to show it or allow others to know it and that is even more so the case with public figures and celebs.
I always believe a failed relationship is responsible by both parties.

It’s sad that a lot of the Asian men want their wife to stay at home. So many actresses and singers retire after they get married because the guy is either jealous or doesn’t want to work for some reason. It’s the culture. But as for Faye, I haven’t seen her for a long time so I don’t think why the husband say she’s too busy with her career.
I know but in many cases, the guy does not make enough so the girl has to work as well. But yea, traditionally that is how it is. Luckily, it is not the case these days since times are different, economic times are harder,etc… so woman cannot just stay home just like in the past.
