Felix Wong, Roger Kwok Support Airing of HKTV Dramas

HKTV has announced that it will be launching a mobile and online television service on November 19, the day of TVB’s anniversary. However, HKTV representatives declined to reveal the exact launch date for the time being.

Felix Wong Wishes Success

Felix Wong (黃日華), who has already filmed two dramas with HKTV, said he has already received the invitation to attend HKTV’s opening ceremony. He has also already filmed a promotional video, but is unsure on when HKTV will launch.

As for his thoughts on HKTV competing with TVB, Felix said that is an occasion worthy to be celebrated by everyone. Felix remarked that it’s good to finally see competition in the market, and that Hong Kong needed more TV stations so the viewers have more options to choose. He also wished TVB’s ailing rival, ATV, to find success.

“I’ve been waiting for this to come for a long time. The station failed to launch last year, and it was a heavy hit on all of us. I thought we would never see this day, but now HKTV has finally taken its first step. The road will be easier to walk on in the future. If everything goes well, maybe HKTV will be able to produce even more TV dramas in the future.”

As for his thoughts on Occupy Central, Felix hopes both parties can come with a consensus soon so Hong Kong can be at peace again.

Roger Kwok Will Watch HKTV

Roger Kwok (郭晉安), who turned 50 years old on October 9, revealed that his 3-year-old daughter, Blair, was feeling unwell so the family celebrated at home.

He also revealed that his son, 6-year-old Brad, had reserved a birthday cake for him last week and also asked him what birthday present he wanted. Roger replied that his best present would be to see his children happy and healthy so their parents would not have to worry for them.

In light of HKTV’s launch, it was reported that Roger’s upcoming TVB drama, Come On, Cousin <老表,你好Hea!>, would face tough competition. Roger said that it is good for the Hong Kong audience to have more freedom to choose the programs they want to watch. Asked if he will support HKTV’s dramas, he said, “I will watch anything. We should not close off ourselves. Let there be free expression and I hope there will be more platforms for everyone to choose. Nonetheless, I have confidence in Come On, Cousin.”

    1. I think wider options is not a bad idea. Everyone has different tastes. Competition also induces the quality of series to increase as well. So far, ATV is doing zulch to combat TVB. Those years when the two channels were competiting for ratings were fun for viewers! It brought the best out in artistes and scriptwriters.

  1. Sorry! Not Supporting Ricky Wong or his station/stupid channel. Hate him so much

  2. Lol in corporate world this is normal to be approach by other companies. If you guys were to ask by a rival company to work for them but you get paid more and you do the same thing. It’s common sense to jump to that company. I’m not rooting for either one. It’s just a job. Plus if TVB treat their staff good than they wouldn’t leave even if money is not the factor. Oh and how can the dramas be so boring when they didnt air yet? Lmao… Stop being closed mind. Be more open minded. It’s makes life better.

  3. Looking forward to Come on Cousin! Wish HKTV all the best.
