Who is the Fifth Undercover Cop in “Line Walker”?

*Spoilers*

With the viewership ratings for Line Walker <使徒行者> slowly going up, audiences are eagerly trying to guess the twists and turns in the plot. The identity of the fifth undercover police officer in the series generated many buzzing discussions.

Undercover Cop: Samantha Ko?

The story of Line Walker begins with Michael Miu (苗僑偉) attempting to find all five of the undercover police officers that were planted in triads by his deceased colleague. Michael has already successfully discovered four of the moles: Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), Raymond Lam (林峯),  Sammy Sum (沈震軒), and Skye Chan (陳倩揚).

Viewers are speculating that the last mole is Samantha Ko (高海寧). Initially taking on the cover of a boss of a public relations company, Samantha fell under the dark side unlike the others who remained faithful to their police identities.

Spoilers For Last Half of Line Walker

After his son’s death, triad leader Benz Hui (許紹雄) hid himself away due to sadness and guilt. He discovered that he knew Charmaine’s biological mother from the past. Michael asks Charmaine to play along and let Benz think that she is his illegitimate daughter, so the police can take down Benz once and for all.

Although ICAC officer, Sharon Chan (陳敏之), mistook Michael as a black cop in the beginning, she finds out the truth. The pair works together to find out the real mole in the police force. After discovering that her boyfriend, Patrick Tang (鄧健泓), is a corrupt cop, Sharon and Michael’s next goal is to figure out who the remaining black cops are.

Sammy Sum to Win Most Improved?

After breaking up with Patrick, Sharon rekindles her relationship with Sammy Sum. Portraying the courageous and affectionate undercover cop, Sammy’s popularity surged due to his role in Line Walker. His performance in All That is Bitter is Sweet <大藥坊> also makes Sammy a hot contender for this year’s Most Improved Actor at the upcoming TVB Awards.

  1. Ahh..I was hoping that foon hei gor is the 5th uc. Like that, the show will be super interesting. As for sammy shum, he was so detestable in the medicine drama, felt like slapping him and his warlord hui (elliot ngok)

    1. hes an actor who can act. one of the uprising male actors who have potential.

    2. I agree that Foon Hei is the last remaining unidentified UC trying to infiltrate the Stephen Huynh’s organization. Guessing from the death of Foon Hei’s son, he could not reveal that he wsa a UC with so many folks around him. I believe he was the 1st original UC under Hong Sir to infilitrate but Hong Sir found that he needed more UC to penetrate this complex underworld organization.

      1. He had 2 guys executed. 1 guy eaten by a dog. And he is too old to be a UC by Hong Sir unless he was sent in by an earlier predecessor. I think 5th UC is either Samantha or Toby and if it is Toby it shows even in CIB there is a UC sent by Hong Sir who can’t even trust his own dept. No one knows Stephen Huynh\ involvement just yet and he is too young to have such an old guy doing the UC job.

      2. But the one that got thrown to the dogs, he didnt specificallygive the instructions to do that. His men grabbed the guy and threw him in. Sure maybe his men knew him well or he gave prior instructions but its missing the usual nod or “zou ye” instructions that u usually see in such scenes.

It will be interesting if foon hei was the uc. Love this show, the suspense, the chemistry between raymond and charmaine, and sob sob so sad that its raymonds last drama with tvb..

      3. it could not be toby because she works under michael,if hong sir can say there is a black cop inside the police department before he died then i think hong sir is highly trusted in michael.so its not logical that he put a mole under michael, while michael didnt know about it.

      4. Foon Hei can be an UC but he might not one of 5 UCs sent by Hong sir.

    3. Overall the show has been ok until when Elena kong became a lawyer!!
Why did she give up such a great career, husband wasnt entirely rich and also no kids were involved, so I dont understand the logic of it???
Why was Elena’s character so 師奶 if she was a successful lawyer before?? She even slapped Michael Miu for being too nosey in her life when she was told that her husband was using her.
All these behavaviours do not come from a lawyer, so her portrayal of a lawyer now doesnt convince me at all!!
This has unfortunately spolit the series for me 🙁

      1. I also agree. That is the worst part of the storyline. If Elena Kong was a prosecutor-lawyer, her personality should not be so timid, naive, ignorant and dumb. I don’t quite accept this kind of personality for the profession of a prosecutor-lawyer. She could be an in-house lawyer the most, but definitely not a prosecutor-lawyer. She had practised as a prosecutor for many years before she got married and she only quit her job for 3 years, and her personality shouldn’t have changed so much ……. being a dumb housewife. It is too hard to accept this fact no matter how much she loved her husband. It just does not make sense to me.

Another thing is: Michael Miu is a super busy man ….. chief inspector of CIB; how does he manage to be a cooking instructor in a cooking school? Does he not have to be on call 24-hours when there is crime? This does not make sense to me either.

  2. wat fun hei illegitimade daugther is sis tang .this is relly akward

      1. shes not referring to uc. she’s referring to fung hei’s illegitimate daughter.

      1. I agree. He is the ONLY character I love in this show actually.
So very handsome and a great character thru and thru. Hope he will be a lead one day soon. But TVB…sigh..sucks haha lol…

      2. I’m more than sure Sammy will get promoted to lead sooner or later. It’s evident now actually, his roles are getting more scene time in series, and he’s getting a lot of opportunities from the company. I’ve watched him in films too, his acting is really good. He has potential to become a lead actor, so what this space IMO.

      3. Yes, Sammy Sum is talented. Have you seen his movie roles? Such a versatile actor. Sammy Leung was suppose to play this character but I really can’t see him as Kobe

    1. You ppl don’t know how to watch movie goes for handsome guy only , Charmaine Sheh is the best in this movie, Sammy shum improves in this movie , still lots of rooms for improvement ,

  3. Yan didn’t die? Noooooo!!!!!!!!!

Sammy Shum improved but most improved is a bit of a stretch.

      1. I want her to die. She is dragging the series down. She is the reason Line Walker is worthy of fast forward. Get away from her and all is at least slightly better.

      2. Funn Lim, I don’t get what you mean? You want Yan to die because she is dragging the show? I don’t know if we are even talking about the same show.

      3. sharon chan doesnt bring the series down. shes better than other fadans.

      4. I agree with funn. If dont have this character yan, not much impact to this show.

    1. I really wish her character get write off as well. Don’t really like her acting. Not sure why. Always promote same thing about her 42 inch leg..getting old already.

      1. thats tvbs fault. not sharons fault.
        actors/actresses have little say.

      2. 42in leg, but no behind, no hip. So, not a good ‘package’.. What’s so great about her body?

      3. You know the typical standards of Chinese girls: (1) Tall, (2) Skinny, (3) Pale Skin/White Skin. Wow that combination sounds like a Starbucks drink!

    2. Agree! Sammy Shum is a long way from most improved actor! No way near that!

      1. Just out of curiosity, who would be people’s choice for most improved (so far this year), if not Sammy? Have there even been any breakthrough performances? (I’ve probably watched less than 5 TVB dramas this year so I can’t really comment.)

      2. Pretty much Sammy, can’t think of other improved actors. Him Law’s works are yet to be out and Oscar Leung won last year so…..

    3. agree, her role is boring and shes doesnt need to be part of the drama. her love story is so draggy

      1. Yan is Kobe’s driving force. No Yan, no Kobe. I agree the writers should have done a better job on the love story and her character…but I also think that her role is important to the show.

  4. Sammy must win best supporting actor! well i only hope! He is hot and such awesome actor

  5. At this point I’m pretty sure Foon Hei is the 5th undercover.

If it’s really him, I will cry. Because it will remind me when his son died, he started laughing out loud when he’s actually crying. It must be so painful and the price for being a undercover in return is just… too much.

    1. I dont think he is the 5th undercover. If he is, he would not have thrown that guy who betrayed him to the dogs to die.

      1. But that guy is indeed a bad guy, so him (if he’s undercover) ordering the guy to die is morally correct? LOL

      2. agree, this guy is bad one and the scene when he gave order to throw him to the dogs he shows a painful expression on his face that tells me that he dont want to do that.that feeds the suspicions about his real identity.

      3. The guy betrayed him because of On Lam. He can’t be that bad to have dogs eating him.

      4. of course its too cruel for you and me but he is an mafia boss then he have to act like one.

      5. If he was the fifth undercover than sure Sammy’s character is pointless because he was made to search foon hei. Also, if he was the fifth UC then how come when he killed ‘dog’, why did he say I have, seen you grow up e.t.c so surely he would have been a UC ages ago. Futhermore, he didn’t tell anyone about Patrick and he had to hack the hearing systems of the police,to get to know what they were doing. Surely if he was a UC, he wouldn’t need to do that?

      6. Perhaps not one of the five, but Benz could’ve been a former uc. One who just lost himself…

      7. hmm, you got some points here, but still i think he is more than just a triad boss, because he have also worked for C.I.B. so what did make him to change that drastically, there must be a story behind this.

      8. Yeah if he was a former UC it is understandable…not one of the five though…

  6. Um quick question, WHEN WAS SAMANTHA KO IN THIS DRAMA ? If she appeared, it must have been quick second…… It’s probably Oscar Leung who’s the fifth one.

    1. Oscar Leung’s character (muk-sat/kutu) is an undercover agent sent by Benz Hui so he can’t be the fifth UC.

  7. What? There are more black cops other than Patrick Tang? Omg don’t tell me it’s Toby Leung…..if that’s the case, the drama would be super intense.

      1. yes, Toby Leung does behave oddly in this series so far…. i hope it is not her, though

      2. i dont think toby if that is the case i think michael will alredy be death, because she works under michael and will know almost everything from him,and it dont make sense because michael is her brother in law and they are even cohabiting.

      3. Chloe, I also wondering if she’s acting oddly because of her inconsistent acting “skills” or her character role.

      1. could be,i also think lau kong is the black cop who works for the big boss, because he is the one who have promoted patrick above michael and want to elimate him before he knows too much. foon hei is the 5th uc,the scene when he laughed and cried in the same time on the edge of the mountain after his sons death gave me some feeling that there is a story behind a story, lol.

      2. might be possible foon hei is fifth uc coz he worked in CIB once, and plus he acts like there’s something behind the story when his son died. Lau Kong might be black cop, he always is like a villain in most of the series. But I think Samantha Ko might also be the fifth UC. OMG IDK, let’s just watch and see. She is prob gonna appear soon, related to Foon Hei’s boss, who I think is chung king fai

      3. Yeah I thought of Lau Kong too, but that wouldn’t be as exciting lol

  8. And then it turns out to be Elena Kong LOL. Now for my serious guess- im guessing it’s raymond or Foon Hei. But most likely Foon Hei..

    1. are u even watching the drama or did u even bother to read the article before commenting??? lolol raymond is one of the uc….

  9. Raymond has been UC from the very start Mazeltov

I’d also hope the 5th UC was fun hei gor that’ll be a kick

  10. Sammy Sum is definitely first-lead material. He has the charisma that many of TVB’s highly promoted “up-and-coming” actors lack. And if Sammy Leung hadn’t fallen ill and Joe Ma hadn’t rejected the role, TVB wouldn’t even be promoting Sammy Sum. Landing this role was a definite stroke of good luck for him and for TVB too.

    1. I agree! Now that I’m watching Sammy Sun in his role as Kobe, I can’t even imagine how Sammy Leung would fit in that role to being with.

  11. i kind of like sammy, but think he has one of those flat voices like ron ng and raymond wong, which kind of limits his potential. can’t imagine him as a lead actor or even second lead at the moment.

  12. Great series so far! Raymond and Sammy are very handsome! Great pairing of Char – Ray!! The plot thickens …..

  13. Great script, great actor…well done…so far I see all great response to this drama…I enjoy watching it…everyday

  14. I love this show, enjoy watching it everything. Like the chemistry of the casts.

  15. The mole(s) in the police department generally has some screen time so that will be Toby and/or Kwok Sir.

    1. Sammy Sum, however much I love is can’t be talked in the same breath as Benz Hui. I find Sammy’s story with Sharon the worst, dragging down the series and comedic moment when he basically limped out of his bed looking for her.

      1. It’s totally Sammy’s character that behaves like one love sick puppy dog all the time always pining after her even when she doesn’t want to have anything to do worth him.

      2. The love story wasn’t bad. It had potential to be a heartfelt love story. However they made Kobe so wimpy…it just drag everything down.

  16. I actually thought Chai “Fing” would be the fifth undercover since he is a really protective and loyal person.

Still cannot believe Samantha Ko appear in the show this late.

  17. I think its jia fing, Benz’s follower and I feel that Ada was not one of the UCs, but just told Cheuk Sir she was so she could investigate Hong Sir’s death.

  18. the black cop is guo sir or maybe 苗僑偉 :O and i think the uc is fun hei ge or Samantha Ko

  19. I think Michael miu is the other hak keng..his job is to find all of those five UC and kill them one by one.
Fun hei could be original UC that turn bad?.

    1. That will be so sad. Imagine this; shocking drama for the sake of shocking. But yes, I do agree, maybe Michael is the mole but Toby could be the UC.

No idea. But Benz as UC sent by Hong Sir is plain ridiculous.

      1. the last standing ucs are charmaine and raymond. that was shown at the beg. and if michael miu is the black cop, why did he rescued the uc when he had the chance to kill them multiple times?

      2. I don’t think it’s Michael, itd make no sense if it was him since he had so many opportunities to kill them off , but he didn’t… So…

  20. If you see the intro in the series, there is one scene michael miu holding a gun pointing at sharon. And another scene at Raymond. I don’t quite get the intention when Michael was secretly taping Sharon chan and her sister’s house which lead to him fall in love with her sister.

  21. SPOLER ALERT!!!

In another forum, a user posted something from the director’ weibo saying that: Skye isn’t the original 5 UCs. She was just his lover and posed as an UC so shecould work with MM to find the killer. Samatha is an UC turned dark. So there’s still another 5th undiscovered. Stephen Huynh is related to Mr Sung.

As for ultimate BC, I’m sure it’s Lau Kong (Kwok Sir). He’s suddenly reappearing in series. He sent/approvedPatrick take over CIB.

Benz is probably a rogue UC.

    1. it could be that benz is a rogue uc but i think that he is a former uc who have worked for lau kong but by accident he may discovered that there is a black cop inside the police department.then the black cop discovered this and have erased his idendity as a uc so that he have no choice but to stay as a triad untill he have contact with hong sir and so they team up togeher to find out who the black cop is.i think lau kong and benz have a link in the story which still have be to unfold.

    1. one of the mothers??? now that’s imagination going overboard. I think it is Mary Hon !!!

      1. LMAO!!!!! Ahhaaha

Imagine if Elena or even Michael Miu was!!! LMAO!!

  22. Samantha’s not going to be the final uc, is she? I’m sort of hoping for someone we’ve seen already. The first one I was suspicious of was Lam Wai (Benz’s underling – the one who’s good at fighting), but I haven’t been following the show that closely.

  23. http://gb.cri.cn/mmsource/images/2014/09/18/27/7457088971206389631.jpg

    The image says:
line walker spoiler alert: Raymond Lam will pretend to take over, objective is to find the black cop. Michael Miu remains to be a good cop (not corrupted). He will pretend to be a black cop, objective to find the boss who is behind the black cop. Foon hei (benz hui) will bring surprise to everyone. Do not take what things appear to be true. Benz Hui is an undercover cop but not sent by Hong sir. Finally, it’s not what people are thinking.

    1. >> Foon hei (benz hui) will bring surprise to everyone

      Foon Hei becomes “Keng Hei”?
MMiu pretends to be a bad cop & Patrick Tang comes back from the death and pretends to be a good cop??

  24. The storyline of “Line Walker” does not seem to be very logical, but there are tons of excitements and developments.

    1. HK Media had dubbed LW to be the best drama for this year.

      《使徒行者》集齐五枚卧底唤醒年度最佳港剧

      1. How is the viewership ratings of “Line Walker”? It does not look too good in Wikipedia (English version) …………..7th place in 2014.

      2. It is holding two records of 2014: An episode with highest average rating (32) (normal episode, dont count the finale) and A week with highest average rating (30) (normal week, dont count the final week).

The average rating up to the fourth week is 27.25, ranked the third. It still has two more week and of course the finale will get high rating, therefore I think it can beat the Storm show easily to be the second. If the two last weeks get 31 and the finale gets 35, it will become the highest.

      3. I don’t think that line is from the HK media. It’s in simplified Chinese so it should be coming from China.

      4. dont you know that most chinese countries are using simplified chinese? even in canada, in high school, students are taught simplified.

      5. LMAO!! Please, if you are familiar with HK, you would know everything is in traditional Chinese, their road signs, their newspaper publications, etc.

I doubt this came out from a HK media outlet.

As for how the other part of the world works, there are many countries that use traditional and simplified. Both languages are taught in colleges. One college in Canada may teach simplified but another may teach traditional.

  25. Expected Benz as the 5th UC! More committed and sacrifices more then Kobe 😉

    1. I don’t quite believe Benz is the 5th undercover. He let his dog bite his traitor to death. He seems to be very cold blooded or even cruel.

      1. Benz can’t be the 5th UC. Didn’t Kobe’s original commander sent him to prison to get close to Benz?

      2. Don’t think Benz is the 5th UC. If I had to guess…. It may be Samantha. He turned bad afterwards and was the one of the original five.

    1. As per Wikipedia, there should be 31 episodes (or 29 regular ones and one long one) in “Line Walker”.

  26. Don’t understand why people are raving over this stupid drama. Story is full of potholes so big that you can fall through them and some really OTT moments. One recent ep had a female character who was stabbed near the heart by Patrick Tang but she could still talk a lot of crap scolding him when she should have been begging him not to kill her or more realistically would be in her death throes gasping for breath. Dumb show.

    1. Well everyone has different opinions and tastes, it’s a dumb shoe for you, but for others it may be a different story. That’s why you’ll never understand lol

      1. Heh, you actually talk sense unlike the other person. My opinion is that it’s a dumb show.

      1. Lol that’s gotta be the most cork and bulll explanation I’ve heard but anyway good effort!

      2. In reality no one stabbed in the heart can still curse like that, hero or not lolol!

      3. LOL Oscar! I guess the knife didn’t stab too deeply, allowing her to stay conscious and talk more. She may had survived if she didn’t tell Patrick Tang she knows his secret.

Yes, the drama is dramatic at times. Even the HK viewers complain of violence and “overly dramatic” elements sometimes.

    2. Good point Oscar. I do think the show is a little overly dramatic and in some cases….. Unrealistic. But I guess as viewers, we like to watch shows like that.

The drama that just ended with Wayne Lai was very realistic but was dull and boring.

      1. I agree that “Line Walker” has many dramatic and unrealistic scenes, but it is also very entertaining to most viewers. Acting is fantastic and there is good chemistry between Charmaine and Raymond. I watched it mainly for acting, not for storyline.

      2. I agree. Sometimes, we need to know that we are watching movie/drama not the real incidents on the street. Not all of us witness how someone’s reaction if being stabbed, shot. If we focus too much for details, then non of the movie or drama is perfect. This is just my opinion. I watch mainly for acting too.

      1. The forum is a place for Jayne readers to share their opinions. I didn’t find Oscar’s comments to be disrespectful. Why are you pumped up lol?

  27. I probably enjoyed Ruse-of-engagement slightly more. . . particularly the ending where Ruco drinks some poison. There’s no better ending than that – i mean he betrayed her & can’t live without her – so whatelse is there to do. If i am the director – i would hv let him used a pist0l.

    1. It was a little rushed. The drama was definitely suspenseful and Ruco displayed good acting. Hope Line Walker ends with a good ending too.

  28. I have to say though, if Benz was a UC, it wouldn’t make sense at all. If he is, then the scriptwriter messed up badly. He killed a number of people for selfish reasons unlike what Kobe did – self-defense. As important as completing the mission is, if he did kill individuals, that wouldn’t make him as good a UC as the other UCs were.

And even if he was originally a UC but turned bad afterwards, where was the tipping point? His wife’s death? I mean shouldn’t his wife’s death make him be more good instead of bad? If he is one of the original UCs, then why did Hong Sir sent Kobe to be with him? really doesn’t make a lot of sense unless the scriptwriter makes a good point about the reason why he turned bad.

But at this moment in the story, I’ll say the UCs have all came out. If so, it would either be Benz (LOL) or his assistant – Fing

    1. yes it would really really be a silly twist of the plot if Benz is an UC. Maybe he could be an UC who went astrayed & never wanted to come back to the Police force. which really means he is not an UC.

    2. Benz could still be a former UC who lost his ways and Hong Sir probably don’t know about it. What was his tipping point? I would say maybe his wife’s death, didn’t they say something like the cop arrest him (or his wife) for having weapons and he didn’t testify that was his so she died? Maybe because of that he feels that even though he risk everything for the police force but in the end, he got nothing but tragedy so he went astray. Otherwise how would you explain his connection with CIB in the pasT? Why did he quit? Even if he is not the 5th UC, I’m sure he is or was a UC. He did once tell his son, the adult world is complicated, maybe he is refering to his UC status.

      1. Benz was a UC many years ago, just not sure if he is still one
        .

  29. Who cares if the story line is not all realistic? Charmaine and Raymond is just hilarious! Their chemistry is just amazing. They are so comfortable with each other, like an old married couple. I am surprise that their kissing scenes are quite daring!

    1. I prolly dont care for the reality of a series unless it is the serious problems of script :), and LW doesnt have a problem with its script. I actually think it is the best series of 2014, at least a series I can finish from beginning to end.

      1. Episode 21 is the pinnacles of the series. Dark cop is finally exposed

      2. Agree with Alluka! The only series I get excited for every day. I cant wait for every episode lol I couldnt finish most of the other 2014 series lol Some are draggy and some are not great.
But LW is different and the script is great!!

  30. Anyone realised that in the official poster, Elena Kong is also holding a gun?
It makes sense for the others to hold a gun (gangsters or cops) but even Elena the Lawyer?

Could she have another motive or something?

    Hmmm.. food for thought.

  31. I watched the trailer carefully, and saw Michael Miu pointing a gun at Raymond and Sharon in different scenes…..Is he evil?!? Did he later turn evil after coming out of prison?!? :O

  32. Ok, My comment is not coming through because it’s too long?? It took me a long time to write it…

  33. The 5th UC will be uncovered tomorrow.
If I had to guess.. I would say:
    The fifth UC is………..
    Miss Gao Hao Ling!!
For all you guys don’t know, ah Fing and Sharon Chan for eliminated in the final line up according to the latest Weibo post posted by HKChannel (or the drama’s director, Jazz). The other 2 picks are Foon H. and Oscar Leung.
Since Jazz did warn us don’t see things in a simple way (it’s more there is than what’s on the surface), OSCAR LEUNG IS SUDDENLY popping up in my mind as a possible UC. I mean, quite honestly, he’s a minor character in the drama and isn’t of much importance.

    1. WHY WOULD THE DIRECTOR provide him screen time with Mr. Song (that man that speaks French)? Why does the drama show Oscar purposely making friends with him? IS IT SOMETHING SIMPLE OR MORE THAN THERE IS TO IT?
As for Foon Hai, he seems to be the hot pick now but I am still not convinced that Hong Sir would send Kobe to go to jail with a undercover. And Foon Hai had a chance to tell them he is a UC (or maybe he did in episode 24??) but the scene got edited out??
I’m still leaning toward Miss Lam being the 5th UC that turned evil. That would make sense then because the mastermind’s plans were very successful throughout the series. If a former cop (or an UC that turned evil) did help them, that would make sense as to how they were so successful in executing their plan and fooling Michael Miu and the other UCs.

  34. this drama is sooo good….one of my best dramas in a long long time haha
