Former ATV Actor Andrew Yuen “Feels at Home” in TVB Drama

Former ATV actor Andrew Yuen (袁文傑), who will be turning 45 years old on January 28, showed up at a TVB event to celebrate January birthdays. As his birthday also falls on Chinese New Year this year, Andrew said he can take the day off to stay at home with his family.

Andrew, who signed with TVB last year, is currently shooting the Qing Dynasty drama Heaven’s Will <天命>. Andrew plays a Mongolian warrior, and has to learn combat skills and horseback riding for the role. He and the cast will be heading out to Beijing and Hengdian World Studios for some more principal photography in mid-March.

Asking if he’s gotten used to transitioning to TVB’s filming style, Andrew said, “I’ve been in the industry for a while, so there really isn’t anything different. It’s been great so far. Many of the cast and crew also used to work for ATV, so I feel like I’m at home.”

Heaven’s Will, produced by Chong Wai-kin (莊偉建), is a historical drama about the corrupt Qing official Heshen, played by Ruco Chan (陳展鵬). Shaun Tam (譚俊彥) stars as the Jiaqing Emperor, Heshen’s rival.

  4. I could barely recognize him until @nori mentioned The Snow is Red. I think he looks better now in those pics above than when he was younger. 😛

He was pretty bad in that series… Mimi Kung totally carried that drama. I love her as an actress and wished she filmed more.
