Fred Cheng Earns Big Money for Christmas
Since winning The Voice of the Stars <星夢傳奇> last year, Fred Cheng’s (鄭俊弘) popularity continues to rise. Fred dropped his first album in September and has an endless round of job offers.
Due to his hectic schedule, Fred decided to forego his Christmas vacation plans this year and continue working through the holidays to earn more money. Earlier this week, Fred attended a Christmas lighting ceremony as a special guest and surprised fans with two songs from his own album. Since Fred has not made any personal plans for Christmas other than working, he joked that he will treat the lighting ceremony as his celebration this year.
When asked if his recent popularity has brought in a lot of extra pocket money for this Christmas season, Fred laughed, “It’s okay if it keeps going like this. There is work every day and it’s not just music events. There are also filming, events, and rehearsals.”
Fred may be highly sought after now, but he remains humble and frequently mentions his mother. Known to be a filial son, Fred originally planned to treat his mother to a special vacation, but had to cancel his plans because of work. To make up for the trip, Fred may take his her on a mini getaway to Macau instead.
During an earlier break, Fred flew back to his hometown in Canada to visit his grandmother. Since Fred’s grandmother enjoys watching Fred’s performances on the Internet, he gave her an iPad so she can watch at her convenience.

I agree that Fred isn’t that good looking onscreen but he’s selling his talent aka voice and not his looks. He’s not an idol like Him Law.
I prefer an average looking artiste with talent than a cute artiste with abs but no talent.

Fred won New Rising Star Award at Malaysia’s TVB Star Awards last night! And his debut album already achieved gold status! Way to go Fred!

A talented, hard working, humble and good looking guy. He does need more rest, though when u r in demand, rest is a luxury.
