TVB’s filming of Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲霄II > is well underway. The cast, including Francis Ng (吳鎮宇), Fala Chen (陳法拉), Him Law (羅仲謙), and Ron Ng (吳卓羲) caused a frenzy at the Hong Kong International Airport yesterday when they arrived to catch a flight.
Since Francis was in the original series and the actor with the most seniority amongst the cast, when reporters asked him what he thought of fellow castmates Fala and Him’s acting, Francis chose not to comment. Francis felt that they did not have enough time working together yet, and it was not fair for him to judge.
Him Law to Celebrate Tavia Yeung’s Birthday
While the cast was responding to press questions about their feelings on the results of the 2012 Miss Hong Kong Pageant, Him Law answered inquiries regarding rumored girlfriend, Tavia Yeung’s (楊怡) 33rd birthday celebration.
When asked what day was August 30, Him immediately responded, “Tavia Yeung’s birthday.” Asked how he will celebrate Tavia’s birthday, Him said, “Not much, treat her to dinner. I sent a birthday greeting via text message. Since both of us are working, we have to schedule time to meet first.” Drilled on whether he intended to take Tavia on a romantic dinner date, Him responded, “I enjoy liveliness. The birthday girl will decide.”
Although teased by reporters as to whether he had given Tavia a ring for her birthday, Him dodged questions on the birthday present he gave Tavia.
It turns out that Him and Tavia’s birthdays were only days apart. Him turned 28 years old on August 28. He had to film Triumph in the Skies 2 on his birthday and did not have an elaborate celebration. After returning home, Him stepped outside mysteriously for half an hour. Claiming that he has not yet received a present from Tavia for his birthday, Him said, “I will ask her for it later!”

Jessica Hsuan was in another studio giving an interview and actually confessed that she recommended herself to be cast in Triumph in the Skies 2! Jessica admitted that she recommended herself for the series. Unfortunately she was not under contract with TVB at the time and had obligations to sponsors, thus she regrettably could not join forces with Francis Ng and Chilam, two actors whom she enjoyed working with before. Jessica said that she hopes they will have the opportunity again in the near future.

I like Francis. And I still don’t see how him and Fala will be compatible. Oh well, got to wait and see.
Fala played his sister in the Laughing movie so he should know her acting capabilities a little.
The reason he didn’t comment was most likely bc he was thinking “damn is this the best TVB has to offer and Ron’s improvement can be compared to a turtle’s movement” LOL

I know TVB wants TY to get as much press this year so that audience will vote her for TV Queen, but I’m getting tired of all this TY and Him romance news.

I don’t think Jessica would have gotten Fala’s role. TVB is promoting Fala here. Perhaps, there will be changes in the relationships. Francis and Jessica and Chilam and Fala.
Jessica leads better than Myolie and Fala. Too bad.
age wise and look wise, jessica would suit the role more and compatible with the guys
So far Myolie still has more of screentime with Chilam than Fala based on news although she’s not pairing with him and just plays his tomboy sister. So Fala pairing with Chilam and Francis doesn’t mean she has the most screentime because TITS2 isn’t just love stories.
Besides, Myolie also has the more interesting character than Fala. Audiences tend to love women who play tomboyish roles as observed in Coffee Prince, You’re beautiful and Mandy’s role in Divas in Distress.
Jess should take Fala’s role and she will suit the 2 men more.

I just realized that both Tavia and Niki Chow have the same birthday (same day, same month and same year)! That is amazing! It’s very rare to know or come across somebody with exactly the same birthday. I thought that was pretty cool.

I have come to appreciate Him more (when previously I was neutral) after watching Choi Min Ho from To The Beautiful You. I think they have similar charm – cute, boyish faces with a man’s body.

Jessica Hsuan have a very “professional” and stern look about her, she would be perfect to act as a pilot. The first woman captain was in 1984, it be really interesting to know why there is such a small number of woman or even minority (non-Caucasian) as captain in commercial pilot.
I hope TVB can focus on female pilot job; their struggle and how it is different from their male companion. Hopefully any young girl/woman sees the show and be aspires to be more than just a flight attendant. But knowing TVB they will focus on more the “love” storyline.
I agree with you that Jessica would be great as a woman pilot. But to change her image a bit, I would love to see her acting range include playing a more soft spoken character, like a flight attendant.
Don’t let TVB become some spokepsperson of any cause. They will just turn anything into melodrama love story so in the end defeats the purpose.

TVB tends to typecast Jessica in certain roles, so I don’t get really excited when I do see her on my TV screen. But Jessica is a good actress, and I rather see her than Fala.
Loved Jessica and Francis in “Old Time Buddy”! They had great chemistry.
At first I also like Jess and Francs in OTB but then in the end I feel for Gallen and Maggie more. I almost cried when Gallen secretly saw Maggie the last time while she was searching for him everywhere. It was the series I liked Gallen the most.
Gallen and Maggie were such a hilariously tragic couple, if that made any sense. XD Gallen was my favorite character in OTB. OTB itself is one of my favorite TVB dramas.
Gallen made such wonderful dramas back in the 90s. Mr. Diana / Feminine Masculinity is also a favorite of mines.

It’s not happening. With the replacement of Fala/addition of Jessica, however you want to put it, you’ll have Jessica leading over Myolie (again). TVB already established Myolie as a leading fadan. TVB is not going to reduce her to 2nd lead. At least with Fala, Myolie’s name will be first, and she’ll have equal, if not more, screen time.

There were rumours flying that Francis has trouble with Ron’s attitude, so Francis is clearing the air.
I prefer Jessica to replace Fala. No lead over who. Myole can still be paired with Chilam & Ron. Let Jessica pairs with Francis. Only Jessica can make strong pair with him. Myoly seems to be like his younger sister or student. Isn’t well matched
At least Myolie has matured a lot since part 1. The pairing of Myolie & Francis in Part 1 was really odd- she was so young than.
I wanted Jessica in this series too…but toooo bad and I agree w/everybody fala pairing up w/francis is BLEH…….and Myolie’s what’s up with that horrible haircut that styling loooks ugly on her she looks beta with a short length look lor……
