Him Law Works Hard to Close Financial Gap between Tavia Yeung
With less than a month left until their wedding banquet in Hong Kong, Tavia Yeung (楊怡) has been busy preparing for the upcoming celebration. While Tavia is busy with the preparations, Him Law (羅仲謙) is currently in Mainland China filming the drama adaptation of Infernal Affairs <無間道>. Working hard to earn money and pay for the banquet, most of the wedding planning has been left to Tavia.
Because of the couple’s age difference and Tavia’s successes in comparison to Him’s, the public did not believe the couple would last. After dating for four years, the couple finally tied the knot earlier this year.
Hoping to close the couple’s financial gap, Him has successfully broken into the Mainland China market and expanded his career opportunities. Him will be starring in the drama adaptation of the critically-acclaimed film, Infernal Affairs, alongside Gallen Lo (羅嘉良), Damian Lau (劉松仁), Eric Tsang (曾志偉), Bernice Liu (廖碧兒), and Mainland actor Wang Yang (王陽). The drama will be a sequel and continue the storyline from where the film left off, focusing on the events that occur 10 years after the film.
However, there are many similarities to the film – Him will portray a corrupted police who infiltrates the police force, similar to Andy Lau’s (劉德華) role, while Wang Yang (王陽) will portray a role similar to that of Tony Leung’s (梁朝偉).
Due to the immense success of the films, netizens are skeptical about the drama adaption. To this, Him said, “The film version is a classic. We are not trying to surpass a classic. We are just trying to do our parts the best we can. The drama version is a sequel to the film. All the characters are different. Although my character is similar to Andy Lau’s character in the film, the two characters have different styles and will emit a different feel.”
Starring opposite Wang Yang, the two actors will have many action scenes together. On whether Tavia will be worried about him getting hurt, Him said, “I did take a few of our fighting scenes home to show her. Upon seeing how hard I work to earn money, she told me she will not spend recklessly from now on!”
