Hu Ge Broke Up With Maggie Jiang

Recent tabloids revealed that Hu Ge (胡歌) had dated Mainland actress Maggie Jiang (江疏影). Hu Ge and Maggie’s romance reportedly blossomed when they co-starred in the Mainland idol drama, Go Goal Fighting <旋风十一人>. The pair were photographed behaving intimately at an airport. However, Hu Ge hinted that they had already broken up but cherishes their beautiful memories together.

Hu Ge wrote on Weibo, “I have loved. I love the memories. I love the her that I used to know. I am content. It is time to wake up from this dream. I am sorry to have disappointed everyone.”

While neither Hu Ge nor Maggie officially acknowledged the romance, they praised each other before the press and did not bother to hide their interactions on Weibo in the past. Hu Ge once proclaimed that Maggie was like a goddess to him, “I never used to believe that I could ever regard a woman as a goddess, until I met her. Then I realized what a goddess is like.”

At the tenth anniversary celebration of Hu Ge’s fan club, Maggie praised Hu Ge for being “gentlemanly, mature, full of wisdom and strength”.

Hu Ge was deeply affected by his relationship with Maggie, but wished to preserve his privacy. He pleaded in one of of his posts, “I’m begging everyone, please stop writing about us. Please stop pestering us actors. I just want to live a peaceful and stable life. I just want to act. I will continue to enjoy my time alone. There is value in being alone. Loneliness is not always a bad thing.”

The last post revealed that Hu Ge turned to drinking to relieve his emotional stress. “My company previously  banned me from using Weibo after drinking. I really couldn’t take it today. I’m so sad. So sad. I can’t take it. Sorry. Maybe being an actor really doesn’t suit me. I just want to be the real me.”

  1. Such a sad tone in his plea (last paragraph), that it’s actually scary and alarming. What could have happened to this relationship and to him? Hope he snaps out if it soon.

    1. Mid life crisis :/? I think it’s normal to feel what he feel. It sound like his first love, after breaking up from a first real love, you generally get depressed, and view everything quite negatively, plus doubting everything you have in life. Reason why I said first real love is because generally, if you have 2nd n 3rd, n you break up, sure, it’s hurting still, but at least you know how to cope with it. Or at least I do hope ppls know how.

      1. Good points Little Fishy! I agree with you. Maybe he is experiencing a mid life crisis? He has dated several times in the past, but maybe this is his first true love which is why he is so depressed. I really wonder what happened? I guess maybe he was too ideal and thought he found the girl if his dreams but she ended up being not what he originally thought so he is really hurt?

    2. I agree! That sounds quite scary and depressed! I have noticed that Hu Ge seems less lively in interviews as compared to a few years back. I guess he is getting tired of the pressure that comes with the fame.

I am worried that he might be feeling sad due to all the depressing roles that he accepts over the past two years. Seriously, all of the are tragic roles. I hope Hu Ge is not stuck in a depressive state due to the role.

I wish the best for Hu Ge in 2015. I rather he get it out now on Weibo so he can receive encouraging comments that will hopefully cheer him up. Anything is better than penting up all his emotions.

Has Yuan Hong said anything on his weibo? They used to be really close buddies. Maybe they need to go on a holiday together like the Egypt trip a few years back. Everyone looked very happy back then!

  2. Just based on what he said: “I never used to believe that I could ever regard a woman as a goddess, until I met her. Then I realized what a goddess is like.”
    Then
“I have loved. I love the memories. I love the her that I used to know. I am content. It is time to wake up from this dream”
He was delusional (I know it might be too strong of a word to use, but you know what I mean), in love with his ideal – make-up woman (could be partly her fault for giving fault image) that’s why it didnt last. Hope he learns from it I guess

    1. You have the same thoughts as me Little Fishy. I guess maybe he was way too ideal or had too high of expectations and ended up being disappointed. I also he learns and becomes more realistic since I heard that he is looking forward to finding a compatible girl to settle down. He is still young so he still has time so hope learns from this experience and moves on as well as eventually finding his true love.

  3. You’ve missed out the rest of the story. He later posted a short essay on Weibo (with many speculating he was forced to by his management Tangren) retracting all his previous comments and implied he was still with his girlfriend. So confusing!

    1. Really, there’s a second part to this article? Lol, so… he was over-intoxicated and did senseless rambling on the net? Why do some celebrities feel the need to share personal issues on social media? Some of them come off sounding very stupid and desperate. Hmmn, wonder why second part of article was left out.

      1. Maybe it wasn’t in the original article because it was an old one? He retracted the comments several hours later (I follow him on Weibo). He stated once he liked social media because he could post whatever he wanted but I guess that’s changed haha. Anyway, it’s really his management that people are hating on because they won’t give their artists any freedom etc

  4. Wait so they did broke up or they didn’t? I’m so lost…. he also mention about not
