Hu Ge Earns $30.6 million in Endorsement Fees
Hu Ge (胡歌) achieved immense popularity after the broadcast of Mainland Chinese drama Nirvana In Fire <琅琊榜>. Last year, he also starred in additional prominent dramas Good Time <大好时光> and The Disguiser <伪装者>. The combined online views for all three dramas hit an impressive 19 billion. Hu Ge became a favorite with advertisers, signing over 30 endorsement deals and earning a staggering $30.6 million USD in total endorsement fees.
Apart from being busy with media appearances and filming commercials, Hu Ge has also been filming an upcoming Mainland Chinese drama, Hunting Ground <猎场>
The truth is, success did not come easy to the resilient 33-year-olactor. He debuted in the entertainment industry in 2005 with a splash, playing the lead role in Chinese Paladin <仙剑奇侠传>. However, his initial success was short-lived. Tragedy struck in 2006 when Hu Ge suffered from a nearly fatal car accident while filming The Legend of the Condor Heroes <射雕英雄传>. The injuries on Hu Ge’s face nearly caused a disfigurement, and the scar by his right eye remains until this day. After the accident, Hu Ge attempted to revive his career, and spent ten years dabbling in various projects, including television dramas and theater productions. While Hu Ge received several acting awards over the years, his popularity never truly resurged until last year, when Nirvana In Fire was broadcast. Hu Ge was not sure at first if he would get the role, as he waited three years before he was confirmed as the lead.

That’s why I didn’t see him being younger when he dumped the ex g/f. She doesn’t look it and cute as a button next to him. He looks older compares to before of course but everyone does certainly he seems noticeably too in recent clips of his dramas. No longer a milky boy…lol….

Everyone ages,but Hu Ge tends to age faster due to his bony structured face. However, it should not matter because who does not age? Looks are not everything and do not last a lifetime which is why the inside and other traits are much more important.

While his acting is good, most of the dramas’ scripts are horrid. NIF had a better script. CP series and XYS had crappy scripts talking about love all the time. Seriously, the love crap dialogues can be edited out and the action in the drama retained. LOCH – Most viewers won’t waste time watching repeats, unless die hard fans of actors. Heard there’s going to be a NIF sequel…

@hetieshou still cannot rest, huaying page continues to give (fake) evidence that he visited her at filming set, William Chan & ZLY shippers still strong believe, WC seems to co-operates with her on rumor, but WH not. Since she’s received Bi Yao role, huaying page posted WH info intensely, so I guess Bi Yao is not female lead. Of course, shippers cannot rest but male leads’ fans can rest already. The CEO is talented, very rich and quite handsome, 13 years old went to live in US.

Whether Hu Ge is aging well or not, it still does not sway me away that he will forever be one of my favorite Mainland actor. I just really hope he finds a good girl that both will cherish each other…he didnt seem to do too well after this break up with Maggie Jiang…
