Jay Chou’s Home Almost Burglarized

The head of an infamous burglarizing ring in Taiwan, Wang Pi Chun (王丕俊) was arrested on December 20 for his attempt to burglarize two million-dollar homes in Taipei, including Jay Chou’s (周杰倫) luxury condo apartment.

Wang attempted to burglarize two luxury apartments on the 18th floor of Yi Ping Yuan from December 18 to 20. On the day Wang was arrested, the media reported that of the two luxury homes, one is owned by Jay Chou. In August 2010, the pop singer purchased two luxury apartment suites at Yi Ping Yuan, one on the 18th floor under his name, and one on the 4th floor under his mother’s name, Yeh Hui Mei (葉惠美).

On December 18, Wang managed to sneak through surveillance by disguising himself as a renovation worker. For three days, Wang and his gang surveyed the 18th floor apartments. Just when Wang was about to make his move to burglarize, he was arrested by the police.

Allegedly, the National Police Agency of Taiwan had been informed of Wang and his burglarizing ring for the past six months. The leader of the ring, Wang, also had a background of illegal drug trade.

Wang and his crew disguised themselves as nearby construction workers, interior designers, and renovation workers in an attempt to get through Yi Ping Yuan’s tight security. The police had installed security cameras around the premises of the apartments to keep a watch on Wang.

The police refused to clarify whether one of the spied apartments belonged to Jay Chou. Jay Chou’s agency also refused to comment.
