Jinny Ng’s Suicidal Past is Revealed

Riding on the success of her song for TVB’s popular series Line Walker <使徒行者>, 22-year-old Jinny Ng (吳若希) became an overnight sensation. Beating out popular singer Kay Tse (謝安琪) among experienced artistes, Jinny won Jade Solid Gold’s Song of the Year award. However, Jinny’s increased popularity made her a prime-target in the media. Recently, it was uncovered that Jinny once committed suicide over her broken relationship with her ex-boyfriend.

Although Jinny is only 22 years old, she is interested in older men. Her last boyfriend was 15 years her senior. Young and in love, Jinny often posted intimate photos of the couple kissing. Unfortunately for Jinny, her boyfriend’s mother highly disapproved of the relationship and eventually separated the couple.

Not only were Jinny’s emotions in a knot after the heartbreak, she also developed ovarian cysts. Devastated about the breakup and worried about her health, Jinny spiralled into depression and attempted suicide by swallowing a bottle of sleeping pills.

Luckily for Jinny, she bounced back quickly and became involved with to actress Sheila Chan’s (陳淑蘭) ex-boyfriend, 57-year-old investor Jason Wong (王弼燮). It is speculated that Jinny and Jason has been secretly dating for a year already.

When approached about her uncovered past, Jinnv laughed and firmly denied having committed suicide when she was young. However, she did praise Jason endlessly.

Due to her flirtatious personality, Jinny has a long list of rumored flames, which include basketball player Lau Chi Kin (劉子健), Edwin Siu (蕭正楠), Fred Cheng (鄭俊弘), Alfred Hui (許廷鏗), Hubert Wu (胡鴻鈞), Sammy Sum (沈震軒), Alan Wan (溫家偉), Adrian Chau (周志文), and Him Law (羅仲謙).

Jinny’s Wealth – From Riches To Stitches And Back Again

Jinny’s family originally managed a hotel business and was well off in their hometown in Fujian, China. The Ngs’ family home was once 2000 square feet in size, but they were forced to relocate to Hong Kong after her father’s gambling addict cost the family’s entire fortune.

During school days, Jinny would walk half an hour back home for lunch to save money on food and bus tokens. When she wanted to have a large family meal together, Jinny would save up by eating only bread and milk for an entire week.

Fortunately, Jinny’s luck had a turnaround when she was at karaoke with her friends. With good vocal abilities, 16-year-old Jinny was discovered by Andy Hui’s (許志安) former manager, who was also the owner of the club.

Jinny continued her school studies while juggling her budding music career. Although her debut in 2010 was virtually unnoticeable, Jinny’s switch to TVB’s The Voice Entertainment Group propelled her to stardom. Her hit song, “Love Is Not Easy” <越難越愛>, increased her recognition levels remarkably.

  1. I don’t know why she is, except she won this award, or her face was plastered here a couple of days ago bec she looks familiar.

This is rich. There’s nothing more foolish in a girl, than to attempt suicide over a guy or breakup.
It’s just so worth it – to herself, to her parents who raised her, her siblings etc.

As for ovarian cysts – they’re fairly common. So are polyps and fibroids etc in women – gynaecological issues which are nothing earth shattering. 1 in 5 women will encounter them in their lifetime … just ask any gynaecologist.

    Nothing to suicide over anyway.

As long as there is reasonable health and independence (ie ability to walk on own 2 feet and think for oneself) … what is there to kill herself for? And at only 22?!?!!

C’mon. Everyone who has cancer should just end it then. Just look at the recent Michelle Szema who smiled her way right to the end, and who is now hopefully laid to rest after arriving in Vancouver this past weekend.

Everything else is a coping challenge which will strengthen this ‘fragile’ 22 yr old, instead of succumbing to the ‘Woe is ME, why ME’ mindset.

    1. DON’T JUDGE SOMEONE OF APPEAREANCE, AND DON’T ALLWAYS BELIEVE WHAT THE REPORTER SAY YOU KNOW IT CAN BE MADE UP!!!”!”

      1. Most girls are like that because they longed for fatherly love and security

      2. Security, should be given by yourself.
        Same for happiness.

To have these expectations, and hope someone will make it happen for you … you first have to know yourself what makes YOU happy and feel secure within yourself. The rest is a bonus and extra icing on an already well-formed solid cake core.

    2. I know, when I see that I was like gosh, must be older than your own father right given her age? hahah LOL..insane.

  2. her singing is really meh…nothing outstanding. going back maybe 15 years ago, she would just be a nobody.

  3. Jinny is the next Francis yip. Only one hit wonder singing . We only know francis shanghai beach

    1. If that was the case, how did her album reach gold level and her number of albums sold was what got her the top JSG award.

  4. Her last 37 yr old boyfriend’s mother disapproved of his relationship with Jinny? So this 37 yr old “man” can’t even decide for himself and live his own life? Need mommy’s approval? WTF?!?
